A 16-year-old talks about feeling judged by peers and society after growing up without parental guidance. They explain how rumors and past actions damaged trust with friends Deonna and Kwani, and how much they needed a mother and father figure instead of handling everything alone.
I'm a teenager. I just turned 16 years old not too long ago. I feel like, why am I getting treated this way when every teenager did the same thing I did? Audience, so you guys were having sex under stairwells at the age of 15?
You told my producers that you feel like Deonna and Kwani don't trust you. Why do you say that?
They don't because they are basing it off of my past on what I— Your past. My past on when I was little and up to this day because I never got help. Nobody never took me nowhere to go get my mind straight, and everybody just left it for me to handle it on my own. And I feel like that that's not okay. And they don't understand that I'm hurt because I don't have no parents in my life to help and guide me. And when I figure out and I hear things about it, about, oh, such and such is doing this, or your mother is this, or your father is that, that hurts me because it's like, where are they? 'Cause I need them. I don't need a sibling. I need a mother and a father to guide me.
