Unlock Our Phones! We NEED To Know | KARAMO

In this Karamо talk‑show episode, host Karamo mediates a volatile relationship between Hailey (20) and Alex (22), who have been together since high‑school. Hailey accuses Alex of repeated infidelity, describing past incidents where Alex stayed at other girls’ houses, a night she was arrested after a confrontation, and a mysterious door‑camera video of Alex at an unknown woman’s home. The couple broke up, reconciled after four months of self‑work, got engaged, and now fear past patterns will repeat. Karamo proposes unlocking both phones to uncover hidden communications. Investigators find a Christian dating app active on Hailey’s phone (last used November 2024) and 53 outgoing calls from Alex’s phone to a female contact between September 2024 and now. Hailey denies the app; Alex claims the calls were to a friend. Both assert they have not been texting or messaging other people, but the evidence contradicts at least one claim. Throughout the episode, Karamo highlights their argument styles—Hailey’s escalation and Alex’s shutdown—identifies codependency, and recommends a two‑year separation for personal growth before reconsidering the relationship. The episode blends personal testimony, forensic phone evidence, and relationship counseling.

Let's back up. Tell me about your man being at another girl's house.
Okay, so when we first got together, we was 16.
Okay, 16.
So we were real like party kids and he would like, we would always go party and then I would go home, eat, go to sleep and he would leave. And sometimes he would not come back and he'd be like, oh well, I just went here and ate and then went to my friend and slept at his house or did this and that.
Yeah.
But I'm from the South and I'm in a small town.
Yeah.
The word gets around.
Of what you doing.
Yes.
Makes sense.
So all of a sudden I'm hearing from all his friends, oh, well, he was at this person's house, or he was doing this a town away. How are you a town away, but you were supposed to be going to eat with your friends?
Yeah. So did you go over to the house? Yeah. And what happened?
So I went over there to go ask, like, hey, what's going on? Is he coming home? I get there and I pull up and my friend's already walking outside and we're all friends together. And she's like, "Hey, I think you need to leave." Girl, who needs to leave? Not me. And she's like, "Your boyfriend's not coming out and you have to leave my house." These are not friends.
These are not friends. So I'm like, "What in the world?" My producer said it took him a while to come outside. Is that true? Yes.
So I was arguing with her for about 30 minutes and then finally he comes out and he's like, Hey, I think we should just leave. I don't want us to get in trouble or anything. We should just go. Where the fuck were you at this whole time? I'm sorry, but like, why were you not here as soon as I pulled up or like anything like that?
Did you get arrested that night?
I did.
You got arrested?
Yeah, I got arrested.
How did you get arrested that night?
Because he played with me and he was like, I'm not coming back or whatever like that, but we're still together. I'm not gonna do that. If we're still together, you're gonna come home. And so he was like, "No, I'm gonna—" Y'all so toxic for clapping for that.
Y'all so toxic for clapping for that. But why arrest you? I'm confused. Why arrest you?
Oh, because he didn't wanna come home, so I went back to her house.
And did what? What'd you do back at her house?
And it was the same thing. "Hey, you need to leave," or whatever.
"You need to go." Y'all see how she's skirting around what she did at this house, right?
And so, So I was like, you know what, I'm not gonna go and then when I leave, he leaves and like go see somebody else or something. So I messed up his car. Oh. Yeah. So it was in the driveway.
Who said okay, girl?
I can't say that.
It was in the driveway as I was driving out and I was thinking he's not finna have no nice car and me go home by myself.
I always think, I really always think that me and my audience, that we eye to eye. And then a story come out and y'all say something, I be like, oh, we ain't eye to eye no more. She talking about, yeah, girl. Bust his car up, girl. Okay, so please tell me you two broke up after that.
Well, we didn't break up right after that. It was like a week later. Like that week we had broke up because it was all this going on at one time. And then I think the final straw was somebody had told me that like last night they had a door camera video of him going to some girl I have never even heard of's house. Wow. And this was like right after I had just went to jail. And you know, not to say I'm innocent, but that was not a place for me.
Yeah, it's not a place for anybody, yeah.
I was so completely mad 'cause this boy has already, I went to jail, like my feelings was already so hurt by all of this that's already happening. And all I'm asking him to do is just tell me what's happening, what's going on when you're not with me.
He couldn't tell you?
He couldn't tell me.
And when did you end up getting back together fully?
About 4 months later. Because his whole excuse for staying at her house was once he got over there, he had a couple more drinks and he could not leave. And I was like, well, if we're going to get back together, I want you to go to some kind of rehab or like something. I wanna better myself, you better yourself, and we get back together. That's healthy. That's healthy.
Because you're both 20 and 22, correct? Yeah.
Yeah, so that's healthy. And so like, we already knew we were high school sweethearts. Like we met on prom night. We've been together ever since that night. Like have not talked to nobody else other than these situations. And so I just always knew we were gonna be together like forever. And I hate to sound like that, but.
No, sometimes, you know, you know, you know.
Yeah, and he felt the same way. And so when all these problems started coming out, I was like, well maybe it is just 'cause we're at that age. We're 18, 17, we're partying. Like maybe it's just 'cause we're at that age. And now I do feel like that was the problem. But after 4 months, we both worked on ourself and we both got back together and it's been great. Like—
'Cause you've been together how long? It ain't been great, girl. You said it's been great. You on my show. Okay, unlock your phone.
She talking about it's been great.
It ain't been great, girl. But y'all been together now for how long?
About 4 years.
4 years together, 4 years going on 5, okay. And you two recently got engaged, my producers told me earlier.
Yes, on Christmas, on our Christmas.
Aw, okay. Yeah. And how are you feeling about this next step?
Are you ready for marriage? Yes, I'm so excited because I thought we were gonna be together forever and now that we're 20, I really expected way before then. But I was like, wow.
You expected before. But you're ready for this next step?
Yeah, but also I'm scared. That's why the whole reason of being here is because I did not want to marry him and then the past happens again and he just leaves.
And you wanna unlock his phone today because?
Because I wanna find out about what happened when he wasn't around me.
Got it. So that means there's still trust issues. Kinda. Yeah, not kinda, fully. Yes, sir. Fully, fully. Hailey, Alex turned over his phone to our investigators and you wanna know if Alex has texts from other females in his phone, if Alex has been texting any inappropriate conversation on his gaming app, and if Alex has made any calls from his phone to other females. Okay, well I think it's time to meet Alex and hear his side of the story. So everyone welcome Alex to the show. Hey Alex, how you doing? Take a seat for me, man. What's up, boss man?
How's it going? It's going good.
So how do you feel about what you just said?
Well, you know, we talk about it all the time. So she right about a lot of stuff, but like I ain't never cheat or do nothing. It's just she the type of person where she made arguments about little things into big arguments. And I'm the type of person where I can't argue with someone. Like, we can talk about it rationally, but I can't sit here in the living room arguing with you.
But he can argue about stuff that he wants to find out.
Oh. Is that true? Yeah, but the thing—
So then your argument is wrong, 'cause you just said you can't argue about stuff, but there's things that when you're passionate about them, you go hard for those things.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is when we sit down and try to talk, she's the one who escalates it. It's a fight now. And not just of we trying to better ourselves. And that's what be messing with me.
So you mean she like throws you out? She'll kick you out?
I mean, it's not like for real. I come back that night.
Yeah, but still, but still. But she still kick you out the room.
Yeah, like I gotta leave.
Okay, so why do you want her phone unlocked?
Like when we break up, they just be certain things, same thing she said, it's a small town, people talk. But she ain't gonna tell me what happened. And the people I'm getting the information from ain't the most reliable people. So you don't know what to think.
My producer say that you saw a text of her ex's name that you met.
Yeah, so like the friends that she talking about, the ones she claim were her friends, they like made a Facebook. Of her and her ex-boyfriend and like showed it to me where me and her had already at this point been together for 3 years, bro. He got in a car accident or whatever. So he going to get a check. They was telling me that I was just there to take care of Hailey until his check came and his check just hit.
Is this true? Were you having some type of relationship with your ex? Absolutely not.
No, it was all fabricated. Okay. But in the moment, like, somebody was showing me that.
Those are some trifling ass friends. Exactly. Like to make a— We have not talked since all this happened. Alex, you know, since we're unlocking Hailey's phone, you want to know if Hailey has sent any inappropriate texts to other guys, if Hailey has any inappropriate DMs on her phone, and if Hailey has been communicating with other guys through any of her apps, right? Mm-hmm. Well, I think we've heard both of your sides of the story, so it's time to unlock the phone.
I need to set backstage real quick.
You need to get something real quick?
Yeah, I need to go backstage.
Okay, you can go backstage.
What? I don't know.
Aw.
Here you go. And like, I'm gonna be honest with you. We've been together for so long that I don't know what's gonna come up on here on yours or mine. But like, I wanna get married. I wanna have a clean slate. Whatever happens, whatever pops up, we'll talk about it, we'll figure it out. If we can't move forward, we can't. If we can, I hope we can, you know? I love you. Yeah, aww, I love you too.
What'd you feel about that teddy bear? More so what he said. He said that no matter, he said, I don't know what's on my phone, I don't know what's on yours, but let's get a clean slate.
Yeah, 'cause I think that's all we really want.
Okay, that makes sense to me. Well, let's get to what's in these phones first. So Haley, we unlocked your phone. Alex, you wanna know if Haley has sent any inappropriate texts to other guys. Hailey says she has not. My Unlock the Phone investigator has searched her texts and found that she's telling the truth. Alex, you wanna know if Hailey has any inappropriate DMs on her phone. Hailey says she does not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her DMs and found that Hailey is telling the truth. All right, Alex, you wanna know if Hailey has been communicating with other guys through any other apps. Hailey says she has not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her apps and found that Hailey is not telling the truth. She is active on Christian dating app, and this is as of November 2024. Christian dating app? Mm-hmm, there's a Christian dating app on your phone, and the last activity was through November 2024. We not gonna lie on the Lord now, okay? Y'all be looking at me so confused. Y'all be like.
No, 'cause I didn't download a Christian dating app.
Well, someone downloaded a Christian dating app on your phone and made it active. Was it you? I mean, what's it called? Christian Dating App.
That's the name of it? Yep. No, no. Why would I put a dating app on her phone?
I don't know. So what do you think?
I mean, honestly, I don't remember downloading it at all, but it could have been for like, I have no idea, honestly. I do not remember downloading it at all.
What are your thoughts? I mean, you said it was when? November 2024.
So what, like 2, 3 months ago? Uh-huh. Oh, then she's telling the truth. Well, it's just probably just something she downloaded. Okay. Yeah, like, I mean, I'm gonna get home and I'm gonna check that out. And if it come to be that she lying, I'm gonna leave her. And if she not lying, then she not lying.
Got it. So hold on, so let's back that up 'cause you just said before you want a clean slate no matter what we find, but now you're saying that if you get home and you check the app and you see that she's lying, then you're gonna leave her. So which is it? 'Cause cheating different.
Cheating different, bro, cheating different. I'm not finna be with no cheater. If you actively cheating on me—
But you just said you want a clean slate. So no matter what, you want to move forward.
From the past, I want the old arguments to quit. I want all the mistrust to be gone.
Well, this is in the past. This was November 2024. So wouldn't that be in the past?
What you mean? That's 2 months ago, bro.
Listen, I'm going off what you said.
It is 2 months ago. If she downloaded it 2 months ago, that means it's still on her phone now. Okay, all right, well. So like, no, like bro, if you got an app on your phone.
Well, just let you know the app is deleted, but it still receives emails.
Man, so what's your reasoning behind why you downloaded it? I mean, it was only 2 months ago, you can't say you didn't.
I don't remember downloading it, and I don't remember I really don't remember it at all. If I did, I would.
That's cool, that's cool.
Just go ahead and unlock mine.
Oh yeah, okay. You like unlock yours? Now you excited to unlock yours? Yeah. Okay. All right, here we go. Well, Alex, we unlocked your phone. Kayla, you wanna know if Alex has any texts from any other women in his phone. Alex says he does not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched his texts and found He's telling the truth. All right. Hailey, you wanna know if Alex has been having any inappropriate conversations on his gaming apps. Alex says he has not. My unlock the phone investigator searched his apps and found he's telling the truth. Hailey, you wanna know if Alex has made any calls to other women. Alex says he has not. My unlock the phone investigator searched his phone and found that Alex is not telling the truth. My Life to Phone investigator says there was 53 made calls made to a female named between September 2024.
That's her friend, bro.
She called her.
That's my best friend in the whole entire world. And I call her all the time off of his phone. And also she calls him to be like, hey, where's Hailey? So we already know who that is.
Got it. Okay. I'm not cheating. I'm just—
You said what? You don't cheat? Yeah, I'm not a cheater.
Okay then. One woman's enough, bro.
Okay, one woman's enough for you. My investigator did find something interesting, some interesting texts between you two though that he wanted me to see. This first one says, "I hate you. Whatever is more important than me right now, I hope that's worth it 'cause I can't keep doing this. You love me one minute and hate me the next." Then this says, "The old Hailey would beat your ass for even accepting this. I know, right? I wanna leave him so bad. I just don't know how." That's her talking about leaving you. Yeah. That's the text from you and your friend. Mm-hmm. Okay.
Thoughts? Nah, that's normal.
That's it. That's normal. That's me. That's normal.
That's just what we say when we mad at each other. Okay, okay. And that's what we kind of came here to fix is the communication. Like, we don't, like, that's what we was trying to say. Like, we don't really cheat. We don't have problems like that.
[Speaker:KARAMO] There's two things at play here. There's someone who has anger issues and there's somebody who shuts down. And when you combine those two things with a lack of trust, this is always gonna be explosive and you always gonna be a cycle of you two not being able to communicate healthy. And so the problem is, is that until you learn how to communicate your feelings, which you're not there yet, as you two are trying to grow, You're not able to fix these issues because you're codependent upon each other and you keep triggering each other back and forth. I do believe that y'all are high school sweethearts. I do believe there was sweet love here. I do believe that this teddy bear is cute as hell, but I also believe that y'all should take about 2 years, not 4 months, to be apart, to grow, and to come back together.
I have a question. So like, if we do split up for 2 years, What's to say either one of us is actually gonna do anything that makes ourselves better?
So what's the point? Well, see, that's the point. That's where now, alone, you have to say, "Do I wanna be better?" Because neither of you have taken the time to learn yourselves. You're 20 and 22. And this is normal for people who fell in love at a young age to get to a place where you start growing into different people. You don't need to bear this relationship any longer, okay?
But see, that's what I'm saying. Ain't neither one of us bearing a relationship. Like, we love each other, we with each other. We came here for communication. Love it. But see what I'm saying?
You telling us to leave each other. Because you're not able to communicate. An engagement, a bear, none of that's gonna fix this. And it's hard to hear because it's a young love and you want this to be the one and it could be the one. I have not said here that y'all are not together. Look, I've told people on this stage many a time, don't be together, don't ever come back together. Run from each other far apart. What I'm saying to you is that you're young and that you both need growth and unfortunately you're not growing together. You said when we were not together, you know, I started to get my stuff together. I started realizing I gotta do this. I started realizing I got, those were your own words. I'm just repeating to you that that was a healthy choice.
Yeah, but I still do all that stuff even when we're together. I'm just talking about like taking care of me.
But when you're together and you're trying to do that stuff, y'all are still getting angry. And it's stressful. She's still getting angry. It's very stressful. Talk to him 'cause he ain't hearing you. So tell him what you feel.
He's not hearing me.
He ain't listening. You're not hearing me. She's repeating the same thing.
You got to work on yourself is what he's saying. And like—
Listen, there's things that y'all both need to figure out first. Yeah. You agree? Yes, sir. I know. I really do wish y'all the best. And I wish y'all growth alone. And then I want y'all to come back together and start talking.
