In this episode of Karamo, host Karamo revisits mother Latrice and daughter Kyeshia, who previously appeared on the show amid a highly toxic, sometimes physical relationship. In the earlier segment, Karamo pleaded with both women to seek therapy to break a cycle of trauma stemming from a broken home and years of mutual hostility, including verbal abuse and threats. The current episode provides an update: Kyeshia confirms she has begun therapy, noting improvements in her attitude, openness, and emotional well‑being. Latrice admits she has not yet started therapy but expresses willingness and acknowledges the impact of the show on her self‑reflection, apologizing for past hurtful texts and recognizing the positive shift in their relationship. The conversation highlights themes of intergenerational trauma, the challenges of committing to therapeutic work, the role of public accountability, and the hopeful prospect of healing that could benefit future generations. Karamo reinforces that while he cannot solve all problems, he can offer tools and encouragement, celebrating the participants’ progress and urging viewers to continue the dialogue.

So y'all know I love checking in with some of my past guests. I sat with a mother and daughter, Latrice and Kyeshia, whose relationship was so toxic. They were fighting and screaming because of the years of built-up pain and trauma. I literally got down on my knees and begged these two women to go to therapy so they could really start to heal. Well, they're back today with updates, but before we catch up with them, Take a look at the last time they were on my show. So a year or two ago, you two got physical. What happened?
I got physical with her because I got tired of her mouth.
Okay.
I'm tired. This is my last straw with her.
How are you doing? What do you think then is the problem between you and your mother?
That she cannot stop talking the way she talks to me. If you don't give me no respect as of today, like I told you before, it's over. I don't want nothing else to do with you. You would take your keys and go.
Latrice, did you really text your daughter the B word, "I hope you die a slow death"?
Because she has done that to me. Oh, several. She called the police on me, I don't know how many times. I never said nothing like to you.
I never wished you dead. What's happening here is that there is a cycle. You were 15 and grew up in a broken home. And you had a child and you never had anybody in that house that showed you what to do. To do. You think you were trying to break the cycle, but you didn't. Can you make the commitment to go to therapy to heal that little girl that's in you so that you can start to heal the little girl that's sitting there?
She's not going.
Can you— can you commit to therapy?
Yeah, but she's not going.
The answer is yes. Just say yes.
Yes.
You can commit to healing that little girl. Kyeshia, can you say you commit to going to therapy for me today?
I don't know.
Can you commit to therapy? I wanna break this cycle for you and your family. Your mother just said she can commit to go to therapy. Can you commit? I got you.
Okay, okay.
You can. Well, joining me now is Latrice and Kyeshia. Hey, y'all. Hey. How y'all doing?
Hey, Karamo.
You both look beautiful. Come through.
Thank you. Thank you.
Yeah. Well, Latrice, I hear you and Kyeshia are in a much better place since the last time I saw you two. Please tell me what's going on.
Well, Karamo, I just first want to thank you. Like, coming on your show has changed. So look, I'm almost about to drop happy tears here, so let me calm down. Okay, so I appreciate you so much for allowing us to come on the show and giving us some real insight into our life. And yeah, I appreciate that.
You're so welcome. You deserve it. You deserve it. Say it again. You're about to call— you're gonna make me cry.
Thank you for bringing me on your show with me and my mom. I love— and I built a lot of respect for myself and it built me to be more happier than what I usually would be.
That makes me so happy to hear because I could tell there was pain there and I just see the joy in y'all. Like, do y'all see the joy?
Yes.
Well, Kyeshia. Yes. You know, millions of people saw the clip where I begged you all to go to therapy. Did you keep your commitment?
Yes, I did. It helped me out with my attitude and my, Me opening up more, not hiding it, you know?
Latrice, were you also able to commit to therapy?
Well, no, I didn't commit to therapy. I didn't, but I'm still willing and open to therapy 'cause I think I need it. And I don't know, but me and her in such a good place right now, I was more focused on that.
Listen, I love that because the thing is, is that I can only give you a step or a tool, but then it's your journey. And the fact that you're saying you're open to it now, what you are saying here is what's true for so many people. Is that sometimes you can be offered therapy, but if you're not in the space, you can't take it. And I love that you're now in a space where you're like, I feel better, I'm smiling more, now I wanna go. Amen, I love that. So Latrice, you said being on the show opened your eyes, how so?
Well, looking at the clip and me saying some things, texting some things I definitely didn't mean and I shouldn't have had text in the first place and there's no excuse excuses for it. And thanks to Kaisha that she actually put the effort in to make that change, because without her it wouldn't— it couldn't be possible.
Yeah, good job, Kaisha. You hear your mama over here giving you props?
I love you, Mommy.
Do you hear your mama over here giving you props? Oh, that's beautiful.
So, and I give the same to my mother.
Yeah.
Yeah, thank you.
You two have a beautiful future ahead of y'all, and I'm so happy for you. Y'all done set a pattern. There's gonna be 4 generations down the line now that are gonna be happy and healed, and they not gonna realize it because it started with y'all.
Hey, okay, thank you.
Good job. Well, thank y'all so much for being here. I appreciate y'all. I love y'all so much.
