Twins Tonya and Sonya came on my show to see if they had any other siblings. Take a look at what happened. Twins Tonya and Sonya were shocked to find out the man who raised them is not their biological father. After finding 4 potential siblings a year ago, Tonya asked for my help to solve this 57-year-old DNA mystery.
He said it was 10 siblings and it was 3 sets of twins.
So my producer said they put together a graphic that they wanna see. So this is Ronald, the man that was on your birth certificate, correct?
Yes.
Okay, and so then we have you two, then he also had Abby and Amy, and then he has Sean and Ron. So these will all be your potential siblings from him.
Yes, yes.
What will happen if they aren't your siblings? Well, Abby is one of your potential siblings. So did you know about Tanya and Sonya before they reached out?
No. They had reached out to Sean's wife and then she got in touch with Ron, and Ron contacted me and Amy both.
Have you ever questioned whether or not he is your father?
Not really. I look a lot like him.
Tonya said that she felt like she had the connection when she first met.
Yeah, they sound like family.
You all took DNA tests. I gotta ask you though, the same question I asked them, how will you feel if they're not your siblings?
Sad, because we have gotten to know you guys.
Okay, well Sean, who's one of your potential brothers, is here. Did you know about them at all before they reached out? I heard I had twin sisters that was born the same day I was born. Oh, wow. Yeah. Have you heard about other children your father may have had? I heard I had an older sister, younger brothers. Do you want the twins to be your siblings? Yes. How will you feel if they aren't? I think it would be sad. Well, we have one other potential sibling that is here, and that is Ron. Did you ever hear about Tanya or Sonya growing up? Not until my father had passed away and their names was on the obituary. And I was like, well, Who are these two ladies? Yeah. How old were you when you learned about Sean? Sean, I was a little bit younger, 'cause my father had told me, "Hey, you got a brother." I knew about Abby, again, through my father and Amy. You know, I was just happy to be a big brother. I mean, looking from here, it feels like I'm already just watching a family that's known each other for years, right? Like in that same sense, right? Do you think there are other siblings out there? Knowing that dude? Yeah, possibly. You all took a DNA test to find out if you're siblings. What did it say, Sean? Sean and Ron is biological brothers. Well, the next DNA truth is for you, Abby.
You're stuck with me.
All right, Abby, when it comes to your sister Amy, she is your full biological sister, as you already know that. Yes. Which means she is also Ron and Sean's— is your brothers, yes. All right, so Tonya and Sonya, there is a possibility you could have different fathers. Tanya, this DNA truth is for you first.
What does it say? Abby, Amy, Ron, Sean are not your biological siblings. Don't worry about that. It don't make a difference. It does not make a difference. It does not make a difference at all. It doesn't matter. We gonna help you find the right answers. To be honest with you, I don't wanna know. I really don't wanna know 'cause I got one father only, so I'm good. You good? And you ain't losing us. You not losing us. Whatever you need. It's okay.
Sorry, Tanya.
It's okay. It's all right. Oh my God.
It's not good.
It's okay.
I'm sorry. No, no, you get to grieve. You get to have your emotions.
It's okay. It's all right. It is okay.
Well, Sonya, you have your DNA truth as well. Yes. So here you go. This is your truth to open.
Yes, Abby, Amy, and Ronald and Sean are natural biological siblings, so it's okay. It's all right. It's not going to change anything. Yeah, it's not going to change Anything at all. But at least we got the truth.
She got the truth. Yes, yes. We're good, we're good. So is it possible that the man who raised you could be your father then?
We don't know. But probably if he is, it would be great. Great.
Because your mother has given you no other name.
No.
So, you know, I don't know. You need answers, and the only person who has those answers for us is your mom. And I pray that she can give you those answers because especially since the man who raised you was so good to you, and there is a possibility that he could be your father. I just wish that you would've had that confirmation or your mother could give you that confirmation. Do you think when you get home she'd be willing to have a conversation with you, especially now that you know for sure that it's not Ronald?
She would have that conversation with us, but again, I'm good.
You're good.
I'm good, seriously.
You don't need to search anymore.
No, I don't need to, 'cause I only got one good father.
Father.
He was a great man.
I hear that, I hear that. Yeah, I wanna give a shout out right now to all the caregivers and all those fathers and all those stepparents that step up to be there. Seriously. 'Cause I know y'all are at home watching and like, it is a very hard, it's a hard position sometimes to step in when a child is not biologically yours, when a person is not biologically related to you. But a good person will step in and do it right. And clearly you've all had good people in your life who stepped in and did it right. And we gotta shout out to them. And I'm glad that you all got your answers. You know, I hope that you get even more clarity from your mother, but I'm glad you also have the love in your heart of this man. I'm glad you all now know your truth and it looks like you all will still be connected to be a family no matter what. Yes.
Yes.
Yeah. Oh yeah. Thank you for allowing me to come here and support you in this journey. I'm sorry it didn't turn out like we were hoping for you to get your clarity, but thank you for letting me be here to support you.
Thank you. Thank you.
Tanya was shocked by the results, but when she got home, she says her mother finally told her the truth. Take a listen to what Tanya found out.
Karamo? After the DNA truth was revealed, I called my mom and she finally revealed the truth. She knows who our father is. We were able to contact him and agree to a DNA test. Meeting him for the first time, I am truly so excited. And Karamo, I truly, truly thank you for helping us.
Oh, that is great. You know, the truth is sometimes what you want to hear and other times what you need to hear. I'm so glad that Tanya got her answers. I give guests the first steps on this couch, and we love hearing the path they take after they leave my show.
