Was My Twin Faking An Illness Or Did He Get Diagnosed? | KARAMO

In this episode of Karamo, twin brothers Quan and Laz (referred to as Laz) confront a long‑standing family rift caused by Quan’s unexplained "electric shock" pain that his wife Roxy and his brother doubted. The show uses a lie‑detector test to validate Quan’s claims, leading to an emotional breakthrough where the family acknowledges his suffering. Following the televised reunion, Quan reveals that he has finally received a medical diagnosis of fibromyalgia after four years of being dismissed by doctors. He discusses ongoing symptoms, upcoming treatment, and hopes to return to work. The segment also highlights the supportive response from viewers, the role of the show in facilitating communication, and the renewed bond between the twins and their families.

He describes this as electrical shocks that go throughout his body and cause him pain. I'm in a position of just uncertainty.
Me having these shocks is just random.
Yeah.
So it's not like me, I'm making this up.
How often did you experience these shocks? Every day. So why was this lie detector test important to you?
So I can prove.
Does this change your whole quality of life?
Yeah, it does.
Do you miss that life? Yeah, I do. Do you ever feel like maybe you'll never get that life back?
Yep, that's exactly what it feels like.
And how does your family feel about your mystery illness?
They don't believe it.
Dr. Ian, you've been listening in and I need you to help shed some light on this mystery. So Dr. Ian, what are your thoughts on Quan's mystery shocks? He's been on for the last maybe 10 minutes or so. He's not had any symptoms whatsoever. So it makes me wonder if the symptoms are real, what really brings on, what triggers these symptoms? We have unlocked the truth of if you are experiencing this medical condition. The truth is Kwan is not lying about the symptoms and severity of them.
What'd you say? What'd you say? What'd you say?
What'd you say?
What'd you say? What'd you say? No, no, no. What'd you say? You said what? You said what now? You said what now, brother? All right, man. Told you, man. Told you, dog. I told you, dog, for real. I ain't got to lie for, man, for real.
Hold on. I see Laz, I see you and Roxy both crying. What's going on in your mind right now? All of y'all, what's happening?
I told you, man. You don't have to lie. Ah, man, yo. I don't have to lie, man. I'm in pain every day, man. And you think I'm joking? Come on, man. We ain't never did this. Never. Damn. All right, man. All right. All right. I'll take your apology, brother. I don't even know what to say right now. Because it's real.
The truth is, is that for him, everything he's experiencing is real.
I don't even know I'm going to do it some days, dude. Like—
You are experiencing something that is How debilitating to you?
Morning and night.
Blaz, I know that you want Quan to meet your daughter who is not born yet. She's due in 2024.
Yes, in January 14th.
Her word?
Yeah.
Did you know that?
I gotta see my girl.
You didn't know? I gotta see you again.
Good night to you, man. You too, dog. All right, bro.
I think this is the perfect time for y'all to have gotten the truth because what it does is it allows the reconnection. Look at that smile. Did y'all just see that with these two brothers right there? Y'all crying too? 'Cause that had me crying. You got everybody in here crying. Proxy, how do you feel?
I don't know. I don't wanna say like a terrible wife. I've been supportive, but like, it doesn't feel good that I had any doubts in my mind. Like, that's my husband. We've been together for 18 years. And I just, I love seeing these two hug each other and having that connection. Like, that's, family means so much to me.
All right, today they are joining me virtually with an update on how things have been since the show. Everyone, please welcome Quan and Laz to the show.
Hey, what's up, man?
Quan, Laz, it's so nice to see you both again.
What's up, Karamo? How you doing?
What's up, man? Y'all look happy. That's all I'm so happy to see.
Yes, feels good.
So please tell me, how have things been since the show?
Oh, from the last time we seen you, from the advice that you gave us, we used those tools, and we've been communicating all the time.
Hey, that's what I love to hear.
Every day. Yes. Yes. Yes. And then like on the weekends from Zaria, my baby girl, you know, uncle's right here. He's on the weekends. Oh man.
So y'all are communicating now? Y'all are spending time with each other's kids?
Yes. Every weekend on Sundays, I'm coming here in the afternoons and we spending time together. We always on the phone. I would send him messages and send a picture of Zaria and they're like, good morning, uncle. I'm right here. I'm right here, daddy's back. Yeah. Even if I'm feeding her or what, I'm changing the diaper, I'm like, here.
Yeah. 'Cause how much time, I wanna remind everybody, how much time was actually lost between y'all?
Wasn't that about 6 months?
That's, for twin brothers who are so close and do everything together, 6 months is a long time that you stopped communicating.
Yes.
Mm-hmm. So, and I, yeah, and Quan, I understand you finally received a diagnosis. Tell me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tell me, how does it feel? Yes, yes, yes. Yes, good job.
Yes, yes. Fibromyalgia. Oh wow. No, it's the fibro—
Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia. That's what it is. Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia.
All right.
Yes.
I mean, for you, for years, you're trying to go to all these doctors and every doctor is telling you that nothing is wrong, nothing's wrong, nothing's wrong. And finally, after this show, when people started to believe you, you get a doctor too? Okay. Yes. That wasn't nothing to do with me. That was just the angels surrounding you to make sure that you had— that's what that was.
Yes. 4 years.
4 years.
4 years.
4 years. I mean, I wanna use you as a testimony for anybody else out there who has like some type of chronic pain where you have doctors telling you, no, you're making it up. No, it's not happening. If you know what's going on with your body, believe your body because this is a clear example. 4 years you've been told, 4 years this man was told nothing's wrong with you. Now that you got the diagnosis, are you feeling better?
No, I'm not feeling better as far as that, like 100%. But I still have all the symptoms and everything and the shocks. But I'm supposed to be talking to a doctor now to go on so I can get some treatment. Perfect, good, good, good. That's great, yes.
But now the area that I work in, 'cause I don't work on the body, I work on the mind, mentally, are you feeling better?
Uh, yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Good, good, good. Good, good, good.
But you're still free as far as that goes.
So how's your wife, Roxy?
Oh, she's doing very well. She was kind of disappointed that she couldn't be here for this.
Yeah. But she's good.
She's doing very good and happy about the fact that I have a diagnosis.
Good, please send her my love. So what are your goals for the future?
Hopefully when I get a treatment, I'll be able to get back to work, to what I was doing before. Yes, yes. Those are the plans.
Well, listen, I don't know if you saw the comments online. People fell in love with you all. They fell in love with your story. They fell in love with you all as brothers because they could see the love there. And so many people understood what it was like to have people not believe them. And for you to be vindicated gave them vindication. So I appreciate y'all being here. It just warms my heart. Thank you.
We thank you so much for all the tours that you gave us. Yeah, man. Man. So easy to talk to him now.
Yeah.
Get off of me. Get off of me. Get off of me.
Listen, this is why I'm here. Do this. You are the reason why I do this. I appreciate y'all so much.
Seriously, thank you. I appreciate it so much.
