Chapters
3 potential men.
Yes.
Tell me about this.
Well, I was in a relationship where I thought I was in a relationship with a guy who actually didn't want a relationship. So once he told me he didn't want the relationship, it was back to the streets. I wanna have me some fun.
You said he was gonna have you some fun.
Yeah, I wanna have me some fun. I had a little too much fun.
Listen, I've been there, okay?
Yeah.
I've been there. I think we all been there. If y'all gonna be honest with yourself, you know, a little breakup, you had a little fun. And so during this fun period, your child was conceived.
Yes.
Okay then. And when did you first realize you didn't know who your daughter's father was?
As soon as she came out the womb.
As soon as she came out.
Immediately.
Immediately, immediately. So can you break it down for me? How are each of these men involved in the situation?
Oh, have y'all seen? Oh gosh.
Let me tell you.
So, let me tell you.
Not Ron, Ramon, and Rio.
Yeah, something about the Rs, I don't know.
Not with the Rs.
Something about the Rs, I don't know. Ron, I've been knowing Ron since I was young. We was like, probably 12, 13 when we met. He's a good guy. He signed the birth certificate 'cause we actually was thinking we was gonna be in a relationship, but no. Ramon, he's a young boy. I met him and we knew each other for a couple weeks before we linked up. His mother's actually the dad of our situation. Rio was just Rio. He's there when he can be, when he ain't.
That's why he couldn't show up for the photo, I get it, okay.
Yeah, buddy.
Yeah, buddy.
That's him.
Okay, okay, okay. So you got a type. Yeah. Not just with initials, you got a type.
It's something about the Rs.
Uh-huh, I see, okay.
Don't judge me.
I'm not judging, trust me, I ain't judging. So how did Ron end up being the one who signed the birth certificate?
'Cause me and Ron actually was together while I was pregnant. The whole time I was pregnant, I was with Ron.
Got it, okay.
But when she came out, I'm like, this isn't your baby. You might wanna get a DNA test first. And he was like, nah. This is my baby.
Oh, okay then. So he said, okay, how often does Ramon and Rio?
Ramon and Rio is the two that she actually knows. She knows these two. She's with them every other weekend. When Rio's not incarcerated, she's with him a lot.
So Ron signed the birth certificate 'cause y'all were together. Yeah.
But he said he know who his kids is and I told him, I don't think you do.
Got it, you don't think you do. But then Ramon and Rio, they actually are spending time.
Yes, Ramon is who she's the closest with.
Who does she call dad?
She calls Ramon and Rio dad.
Karamo and Rio dad. Got it.
And I've been trying to get them to get a DNA test and they both like, "I don't need a DNA test, she's mine." I'm like, "It's nowhere possible she has two dads." Yeah, two dads.
Like, it's not possible.
Not possible.
Got it, got it, got it. Is there a possibility anyone else could be the father?
Yeah, the guy that I was actually thinking I was in a relationship with. And he's been gone since I've been pregnant. I mean, skipped town.
Yes.
Left the whole state.
Got it. The guy who set all this emotion when he broke your heart.
Yeah.
Got it, okay then.
The reason I went on a fun spree.
You're a little, you're wondering why you went back to the streets on a fun spree. Well, I think it's time that we meet Ron. So everyone please welcome Ron to the show. These pants are cute, by the way. This whole outfit, you look real fresh.
What's going on?
How you doing, how you doing?
Hey Ron, how you doing, man?
What's going on?
Nice to meet you.
I'm good.
So how do you feel about what you just heard?
So I was just listening and I was just like, I didn't know what I was hearing at first, but basically I did sign the birth certificate. Feel like I got trapped into it, but— How you feel like you got trapped?
'Cause she said that she told you not to do it.
So that didn't happen. So when I came into the room, basically, she called me, she had the kid. I came to the room. Soon as I step in the room, a lady came right behind me. So I see the lady, she like, "Is you the daddy?" I'm looking at her, I'm looking at the lady. I said, I haven't even seen the baby yet.
So I didn't say, if you sign this and give her your last name, you better take care of her or you going to child support 'cause this ain't your baby.
You probably said that.
Then you tell me I know my kids.
Wait a minute, wait a minute. Once I seen the baby, I knew the baby wasn't mine. I got 10 other children.
Oh. You got 10? Yeah.
But before then, when the lady come in, she asked me, am I the father? Once I see the baby, I said listen, Listen, I love her, but I'm gonna say I'm the baby's uncle. This is what I told her. I told her, I said I'm the baby's uncle. That's what I said.
He did, that's not the job of somebody.
I never said I'm the father. Yeah, he said he's the uncle. But I said I'm gonna be this baby's uncle. But I give her my last name. So when I signed the paper, I didn't know it was gonna get serious to where it'll change your life.
Got it. So have you seen the baby at all?
No, through social media.
'Cause you two broke up. 'Cause you two broke up.
Yeah, and he ain't seen her since. She turned 1.
I haven't got a—
Ain't tried to see her.
I don't even know her name, but see, but this is the thing. You do. This is, wait, this is the thing. When I knew that she wasn't my child— You don't know the name.
No, he don't know the name.
He don't know the name. You know that baby's name. Wait, wait, wait. I didn't get in her life because I didn't wanna build a bond with a baby that I knew wasn't mine. I wanted to get a blood test first.
Okay.
So why didn't you get a blood test before you signed it? And we could have got the blood test in the hospital when I told you that.
You right, you right.
Or, and I get it in the moment, I can understand how you could feel pressured. I can respect that your feelings in that moment. I understand like it might be easy for someone else to say like, I don't get it. But like if you have another kid that you've been a father to and someone puts you in this position, you might feel like, okay, I need to do this, I need to step up. Especially since you said you loved her in that moment, y'all in a relationship.
He still love me.
Yeah, okay.
I do, she's a great friend, she's a great person.
See, so I can understand why you would make that decision in the moment, but a year in, why not get the DNA test then? Why not do the blood work then?
So a year in, it was a lot of stuff going on. Coronavirus, my father passed away. I didn't really, I wasn't even thinking about that.
Got it.
I had a lot going on in my life at the time. But when I started working jobs and then I get my pay stub.
Snatches.
It say, just up.
Snatches.
What is this?
Yeah.
I started looking at my paycheck. I'm asking people at my job, like, let me see your paycheck.
I told you, Karamo, I don't know nothing about that.
You're gonna help me. Why do mine say it's taking 100 to 200 days? $25 out and yours don't. I had to call somebody, they said, "This child support." I said, "For who?" They said, "For a baby." I said, "That ain't mine." Ain't happening.
[Speaker:KARAMO] So then why did you at that point take the DNA test?
[Speaker] It was interrupting my life. So I had to stop work to go down there to do it. And then it's like every time I get a raise it'll go up. So I start calling her, "Hey, we gotta figure this out." 'Cause I know I ain't the daddy, you know I ain't the daddy. So what's going on?
Got it, got it.
That's what I was saying.
Got it, okay. So when did you find out that there were two other men?
When the producer called me. Hey, yeah, hey, so, hey, yeah, we want you to come to the show. We heard you the daddy. I said, I probably ain't. They said, well, yeah, it's two other guys, maybe three. I said, what the? I didn't know what to do, you know what I'm saying? So I'm just like, yeah.
My producers be so messy sometimes. They so messy sometimes. Oh man. Okay then, so, What do you want the DNA results to be today? Do you want it to be your child? Because you could be potentially.
No, I'm not.
You saying—
Like I said, I got, like she know me.
But I'm also writing down the timeline here. You might have been together when the baby was conceived.
We was still together when she was conceived.
When the baby was conceived, so.
We probably wasn't together. We was just probably dealing around, but I'm saying— Dealing around, that's all I'm saying. What I'm saying is, I know my children.
Everybody was on my phone.
All of my children look the same, so once I brought this baby around my other children, My oldest daughter was like, "Who baby is this?" I said, "That's your sibling." She said, "Never." So it was just like—
So because of looks, the looks are different.
Yeah.
But you just said that every, all of—
Everybody was a one-night stand.
Got it. So Ron, Ramon, and Rio were all one-night stands.
Everybody was a one-night stand.
Okay then.
It was the liquor, the music, and the phone.
And the phone, you was on it.
Yeah.
I hear you, okay.
Very common.
Well, I think it's time to meet Ramon. And so everyone please welcome Ramon to the show so we can get his side of the story. How you doing, man? Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.
Ramon, this is Ron. Ron, Ramon. What's up?
It's my first time seeing these motherfuckers, but whatever, you know what I mean?
How you doing?
I'm all right, how about yourself?
I'm good, thank you. What are your thoughts on what you just heard?
You know, things happen. One night stand.
Yeah.
I don't know, for real.
Were you surprised and shocked when you got this call? Yeah.
Uh-huh.
So how long ago did you learn about this DNA mystery that you potentially might have a daughter?
Like 2 years ago.
I had first got outta jail.
Okay.
I seen her in a club.
Yeah, he had got locked up.
Uh-huh.
Once I seen him though, I knew.
Yeah. Ron was like, "Oh, that's her daddy." That's who you think is her daddy?
I knew.
He was on it, "That's her daddy, that's her twin." She looks just like him and they act alike and everything.
Okay, okay. My producer was telling me that this has happened to you before where you have been told that you had children that were not yours?
Wow. Yeah, it happened like 3 times, you know?
3 times?
Yeah, it was like in the street.
Wow.
Never knew about that.
You didn't know that?
I never knew about that.
Got it.
We ain't get too deep in here.
What night? What night? Don't tell me too much. Are you involved in your potential daughter's life? Yes. That's good. Well, don't clap 'cause he said he ain't giving no money, so I don't know what y'all clapping for.
I'm the one giving up money.
I'm giving him money right now. Rob giving him money. Now his mother, his mother does all the financial support.
She's supportive, okay.
She's real great. She even includes my other kids. She's real great.
She's great, okay then. Well, Telly, the bottom line is you have a little girl who is calling 3 different men, she is beautiful, calling 3 different men dad and that's not fair. So I think it's time to unlock the DNA truth. You ready?
Showtime.
Rob, we starting with you. You were in the hospital, you signed the birth certificate. You say you the uncle, but you signed it and said daddy. So this is your truth to open, not mine. Here you go.
Before I open it, you know, I just wanna let her know, you know, I love what she doing. She a great mother, all of that. But I knew then that it wasn't my child. I just got trapped in a bad situation and I signed it in. I know what this is gonna say. I don't even gotta read it. I can really let you read it, but I'll read it for you.
You want me to read it?
I'll read it.
Okay, I'm about to say. Uncle. All right, say uncle.
Says you are not the biological father, which I already knew. That's what happened really.
Well, you have the answers now. You felt it already. You thought like, but also now child support. So now this will be the proof you need to get yourself off of child support. Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
Telly, since Rio isn't here, I'm gonna give you his DNA truth. So here you go. This is Rio's.
Deep breath. Take two.
Well, let's find out. Rio is not your daughter's biological father.
Okay. All right. So we now know that Ron and Rio are out. But Ramon, before you got out here, you did say, Telly, that the man that you were in a relationship with that broke your heart, that caused you, that sort of led you into wanting to be in the streets for a little bit. That you did say that he could potentially be the father as well?
Yep, he was the first one I told.
He was the first one you told. Ramon, did you know that? Did you know that the man that she actually was in a relationship with at that time could be the father?
Nah, I think I knew that.
You know.
I think he knew, he was from Philly. He was from Philly, I remember that.
I do remember that. I actually know.
I definitely know because I really know her, you know what I mean?
And so seeing him.
I didn't know about these other dudes.
2. Okay, got it. So knowing that first one that's from the gentleman she was in a relationship with that broke her heart, have you seen him before?
Never.
Never seen him?
I've seen him.
You've seen him, okay. Well, there is that bit of doubt because there is 2 men. So I know that you, Ramon, hope that this is your daughter, but there is that possibility that the man you actually were in a relationship with at that time could be the father. Ramon, this is your truth to open, not mine. So here you go.
All right, before I open it though, like I did tell, you feel me, my daughter, like even whatever happened, I'm still gonna be there, you feel me?
Yeah, yeah. Chelli, hold on, before you open that, what do you want? What are you hoping for in this moment?
Her to be his.
Her to be his because of the heartbreak. You don't want to go back there.
And she loved him so much.
She loved him. So yeah, there's a lot at stake in this moment right here. Okay. Ramon, well, that's your truth to open, so open it whenever you like.
I'm gonna help you read it.
He is good. Hey.
Hey, I am the best.
Hey.
Hey.
He was so scared to take the test.
You were scared to take the test?
I'm scared to get swabbed. I was like, what's wrong? He was like, I'm scared. I said, I think she yours.
Yeah. Okay. So that's your little girl. You've already been taking care of her. She's already been a part of your life. How do you feel having confirmation?
I ain't gonna lie. It's a burden lifted off my chest, you know?
Yeah. Are you happy?
No, I'm not. I wanna cry, but I ain't crying on TV.
I ain't doing that.
You cry on TV. I ain't doing that. It's all right.
It's all right.
It's a special moment. It's a special moment. This is a special moment because like you just said, that little girl, you told her already, no matter what, I was still gonna be your father, which means that you didn't wanna let her go. And I'm glad that you don't have to let her go. I'm also glad that the pain that you felt from this other man, that you don't have to go back there and experience that.
No, seriously.
So you can leave that in the past.
I was praying I didn't have to contact him.
Yeah, yeah. And Ron, now you can give him your child support payment.
Mango. If he need me, call me. I give you my number, okay?
Listen, I can tell that you have a lot of love for your daughter and there's already support here and great communication. What I'm hoping for is that this relationship with your daughter will also support you in making better decisions. 'Cause I can hear that you've been in and outta trouble and I think sometimes the understanding that there is somebody who's looking at you who needs you will hopefully make you say, before you make a choice, say, you know what, how this will affect my little girl? Because she's gonna need you. And I will tell you this, I've had many guests who have been locked up or incarcerated consistently and their daughters have sat on my stage talking about how much pain they felt, how much hurt they felt. And of course you have your own pain, your own things, which is why you're making the choices you made that you gotta heal from. But know that if you really love that little girl, you gotta work a little bit harder to make sure that she doesn't go through that same cycle, that she doesn't go through that same pain. And I believe you will, I believe you will. I believe you will.
Yes, sir.
You know what I mean? And Telly, I'm not saying, 'cause it's still, trust me when I say this, this ain't coming from judgment, but if you gonna play in the streets.
Oh, I got fixed.
Oh, you got fixed? Okay, good, 'cause I was gonna say, if you gonna play in the streets, safety first, girl, okay?
I got fixed.
That's for everybody out there. If y'all wanna be in the streets, safety first, okay?
