I am my father's oldest daughter. We're like best friends. Last year, Shantrese came out of nowhere and claimed to be my father's child. I don't believe it. I just don't believe it at all. Prove it. First off, she says she connected to my father through Ancestry. He never did an Ancestry test. Like, who did you swab? Not him. I haven't seen any paperwork, no proof at all. And none of her stories match up to my dad's. None of it. My daddy heard he had a baby boy back in Detroit, not a girl. Where she come from? And even with all that, I tried to welcome her to the family. I went and visited her, talk on the phone with her every day. I accepted her as my sister. And then she just stabbed me in the back. She blasted me over Facebook, talked about me to family members, talked about my father to family members. This is someone that's supposed to be my sister? No sister does that. She betrayed me. She's a snake. I think she's a messy girl that likes to start up drama. I know she got the wrong family. She's lost. Put her back in the recycling bin. I want this DNA test bad, 'cause if she not my sister, I want her out of our lives for good. I want her gone. Like, bye-bye, Felicia.
Well, listen, we'll talk to Shanika a little later, but first, please welcome her potential sister, Shatrice, to the show. So all of us here, we saw your reaction to that. You were not having it.
No, 'cause she talking about herself.
Okay. So, 'cause she's saying like you are causing drama, that you are not part of the family.
That's her.
That's her. She causes the drama. Okay, how did you end up connecting with Shanika's family in the first place?
How did you find out about this? I took an ancestry test and it led me to a family member that's on they side of the family. So that's how I end up. And then we had like a conference call. Everybody was calling happy. Yeah, I feel like Cash Doll. Yes, I did. 'Cause I was a celebrity to them. They all wanted to be around me. I talked to all of them or whatever. And then like after that, like Shanika, like she said, she came and seen me.
Yeah.
That's how we met.
Was there a connection when y'all first met? Was it cool?
Yeah, she was calling me every day.
Oh, so y'all had a great relationship?
Yeah, she was calling me her sister, my sister, my sister, my sister.
Oh, got it, okay.
Like, what happened?
So let me go back up a little bit. What did you know about your father growing up?
I just knew his name and his birthday.
That's all you knew? Mm-hmm. Okay then. And was Shanika's family welcome? You said they were welcome to your house?
Yes.
And when did the problems with Shanika start? Because if she was saying, you're my sister, you're my sister, what happened?
Oh, she got mad because I got cool with somebody in the family that she don't like and she want everybody to be against and I'm not that type of person. So I'm gonna go out and I'm gonna learn somebody on my own. Got it. And that's what she mad at. 'cause she miserable.
Okay, and what happened with Shaneka after your mom passed?
Oh, she came to my mama's funeral. She was there. She was trying to be fake supportive. If she wanna say anybody a snake, you're the snake, 'cause why would you come to my mama's funeral if you felt that I wasn't your sister? That's just the main thing. Like, don't play with me like that.
Got it.
And then I don't know what these Facebook posts or whatever the heck she said that I talked about her. Please, please show me.
Got it, okay then. And when did Shaneka first tell you that she had doubts about you? About you?
She never said it.
So you, she never heard?
No, she never came to me and said I want her sister, all this that she said. She never said that to me.
Got it. How long ago did you get connected with this family?
That happened in like, I'll say like right after Mother's Day.
So you've only been connected with them for less than a year?
Yeah, I got connected with them on my daughter's birthday, which is January 19th of 2025.
Got it. So this has been about a year that you've been knowing this family?
Yes.
So it's been an up and down journey for you?
I guess that's how they did it.
When all you're looking for is just to know who your father is.
No, I know who he is. He know who he is. He know, he just wanna sit here and he don't wanna take accountability. Just say you abandoned your child.
Got it.
Like, just say it.
So do you think Shanika got in the way of you building a relationship with your potential father, Sammy?
I would say somewhat she did and somewhat she didn't because when I fell out with her, he just completely stopped reaching out. And then now he just start back reaching out like, Right after like New Year's, like before New Year's Eve, he just started back reaching out to me outta nowhere. He wasn't even trying to build a bond with me when I first came out. I talked to him like 3 times. I was talking to Shanika every day.
Got it. Okay then. Well, it's time to hear from Shanika, what she has to say about all of this. So everyone please welcome Shanika to the show.
I'm the drama. I'm the drama. I'm the drama.
How you doing, Shanika?
Hey man.
How you doing?
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.
What's going on with you and Shatricia?
I'm the drama Shanika.
Girl, you really is the straight drama of the family.
I'm the snake. We'll post that later. You are lying on us.
What have I said about you?
You didn't make that status.
What did I say?
You said that when people talk about people, they trying to get you to not to know who people are because she started talking to one of our siblings.
Tell me the part.
She started talking to one of our siblings.
I made a status back. Why do I send it to them? I made a status back at her. Why you didn't send it to them? Why you didn't send it to them?
I said, "You lost and found kids." Why you didn't send it? She got offended and blocked my whole siblings.
Okay.
Blocked everybody for what I said.
Why you mad at me?
Don't block them for what I said. Come at me.
Did you block the rest of the family?
Yeah, but that ain't the post that I made. I made a post saying that I love my 3 sisters while I was grieving the death of my mom.
That was before this. Girl, shut the fuck up. I ain't gonna cuss on you, so shut up.
She just so messy.
That was before that.
Why you didn't send it to them? Jennica, you know I never made a post about you.
You know what you post.
Girl, I would never make a post about you.
Why me and you not friends on Facebook again?
Because what did you do when I was grieving my mom and I said I love my 3 sisters?
Girl, I said you don't love me.
And I said, this about me and my sisters. This about me and my sisters. Me and you had a conversation and we talked about this. So who the drama? You! Who the drama? You! Who the drama? You! Her 10 minutes of fame. Jennica, listen. Your 10 minutes of fame? I wanna give you 10 minutes of fame. You the one who called up on that account. I paid $150, baby. He's my dad, I know he's mine. So I don't want no fame. 'Cause I know he's mine. You gotta figure out, is he yours?
So Shanika, one of the issues started between me and her is when she started talking to a sibling that we was talking to her about. When we first met this girl, she was talking to me and my other, well, my brother, okay? We was telling her about how the family, we go through our ups and downs, we ain't all that, okay? We was talking about another sibling. She came to start talking to the other sibling. Okay, nobody mad at you for trying to figure out who your people are.
Go ahead.
Why you mad?
But you don't gotta mention me and what I said.
So why you start going on Facebook, start making these statuses?
You uploaded the text messages.
Oh yeah. When people talk about you, it's to keep you away from people.
Like, what?
So because of the drama, that's why you have doubts that she's not your sister?
Yeah, 'cause she got drama with her other siblings. And she want me to have drama with them too. They got stories there. I'm Katrice, I'm not Tanika.
Something about she knew that daddy been hers and he didn't own up 'cause my daddy had a relationship in Detroit.
'Cause your daddy abandoned me. Tell your daddy to admit that. How did he abandon you when your mother never told him?
Well, listen, I need to talk to your dad. I don't need, I already know this situation. I don't need any more of this situation. I know what y'all going through. So I think it's time to meet Shatrice and finally talk to her potential father. So everyone please welcome Sammy to the show.
I made a comment about that. Potential, potential father. And I'm happy.
Hey, how you doing, Sammy? Nice to meet you.
How you doing?
Thank you for being here, sir. So tell me, what is your thoughts on what's going on between the two of them?
I think they both just, man, confused. I'm just trying to make sure that she is my daughter. I'm not saying she ain't, but growing up when I was in Detroit, my grandmother done told me that I had a boy. That was what was told to me. Wait a minute, babe. Okay, I was told that I had a boy. Okay, you a girl. Your mama never called me, told me that I had a baby. Ain't nobody never told me that. You don't know because I was in Detroit. I stayed up there.
So you really gonna get on here and talk shit on my mama?
When we first met her, he told her the same stuff that he telling her now. He told her that on that phone. You wanna make my mama look like a fool. You?
This is what she wanna blame it as.
That's what she wanna blame. But let me tell you, let me say something. Your mama had a chance to explain all of this.
And then my mama, did you tell people don't tell my mom where you was at? Didn't you just sit on the phone the other night and say, why would I wanna go back home and tell my people that I got a baby in a whole nother state? You did! You did! That you wish you may have did a child support test on him? Listen, I don't need to get child support from now on. You just tell him that on the phone. So why would I put him on child support? But do you just tell him that though? Why would I put— I got two baby daddies.
The big part of this is— the big part of this—
you want to know who your daddy is?
I got more money than him.
Your daddy is—
I'm going to need y'all to go. I need y'all to go.
I know who mine is.
Okay, and I know who mine is too.
All right then, come on then, Mama. Let us This is what we here for.
But, well, a large part of this is because both girls—
That's just your daughter.
She just so messy. You need to come on here and bring your— You the biggest messy person. When I came to visit you, you got the little baby drunk. You really need to bring her back because she got abandonment issues.
Because she got abandoned when she was little by her mother.
She need to bring her mother on here and talk about it. I'm gonna bring my mother on here. Prove me wrong.
So in this envelope, you've had questions about who your father is. You figured it out through ancestry.
Mm-hmm.
The relationship of one year has went from something that could have been positive to something that's been what seems to be very toxic right now.
Mm-hmm.
But at the end of the day, you said that they wanna know the truth.
Mm-hmm.
You already know the truth.
Mm-hmm.
And you said you don't want to have a relationship, correct?
No, I'm done at this.
It's a wrap.
We been done since last year.
We have. So why you come bothering me, girl? Since last year. Why did you call this show, come bothering me?
Since last year. I'm gonna pay $150, baby.
So I'll be all kinds of supportive, but I can't. I'm gonna have you leave 'cause this is really between them.
Since last year. I'm gonna have you leave. I'm gonna have you leave.
That's what's going on.
I left your ass alone. I'm gonna go all the way back.
All the way back. I left your ass alone.
All the way back.
I don't even know why her ass here.
Because the end of the day, this right here has caused this to not be productive. Because at the end of the day, what really needs to happen is that she needs answers from you about what's going on.
Well, I already been trying to talk to her. You know, she is not gonna listen to me. To me anyhow. You know, to me, I feel her mama shoulda explained to her a little bit more, you know what I'm saying?
Sammy, you was in a relationship with my momma.
I never ran from my child. You was in a relationship with my momma.
You came to Detroit for 4 days, left, came back, and was there for months.
You can stop it.
Like, stop it.
I don't understand what she's saying.
Stop it, tell your daughter that.
Okay, in this envelope is your truth of who you are and where you come from, and I want you to find your truth, and then we'll figure out how to help y'all if you are family members. So there you go, it's your truth to open.
Like, I just wanna say, I'mma say after this, when I open this, like, I'm not reaching out. Please don't reach out to me because y'all are drama. Y'all are miserable. Y'all are bringing drama to my life that I do not need right now. And I literally said that.
Like, I went 33 years without knowing y'all. I can go some more. It really don't even matter.
She's right. She's right.
But I'm— No problem with me, no.
She's right.
But I'm—
No problem with me neither.
Shatrise, Sammy is your biological father. Thank you. I'll go back.
Can I go back?
Because I know I'm not on it.
There you go. Hey, like I said, I already, I had a feeling, sir.
Oh, let me get this to his daughter.
I went through this before.
I took care of a child for 5 years.
You would've had enough.
Whatever you wanna say, baby girl.
So this is the one thing that I'll tell you as a piece of advice is bringing up her mother and her mother's feelings of not telling you is not gonna help any bond. Two reasons. First, I understand as the adult, I understand your situation, something happened and I get it. I'm not saying you're lying, I'm not saying that her mother was lying. I'm saying that for her, she was a child and neither of those truths matter. All she knows is that my father wasn't there. So when you try to defend you not being there by saying your mother should have told you more, it doesn't help because for a child, and this is gotta take us back to children, as children, if your parent says something, you like, if I'm sitting on a corner waiting for y'all to pick me up and your mom's like, "Daddy's supposed to do it," and your dad's like, "Your mom's supposed to do it," all you know is that I sat on a corner and I was waiting. And that's what's happening in this moment. What I'm trying to give you is some just advice to help you to build a relationship. And so the second part is, is that bringing up her mother after her mother has passed is also gonna trigger so much grief. And so what's happening is that instead of being able to grieve with her father now, she is now defending her mother's honor. So you have to be careful of that because every time you're bringing up her mom, it's a woman that is dead, who's passed away, that she can't be there.
[Speaker] Right, I understand that.
[Speaker] And so what I'm saying to you is that if you wanna build any type of relationship with her, the first thing Take her mother out the equation. From here on out, now that you know that you're the father, say, "I'm sorry that I wasn't there," point blank. Because the more you try to defend the past is the more that it's going to just cause her to defend, the more it's gonna cause y'all to have tension. Especially now that you know the truth. And also secondly, it's up to, she's gonna have to decide if she wants a relationship. But I do believe there's a piece of her that does want to get connected with you. So what I would do if I were you, when you leave here, is start off with just text messages and say, "Hey, I'm glad we got the information. I'm sorry and I'm here to talk. I'm here to listen." And then the third thing is that this daughter, you gotta tell her to be quiet. No, no, you gotta tell her to be quiet. Her whole demeanor, attitude, every single thing, I'm rarely frustrated, was unnecessary and outta order. Unnecessary and outta order. And as her father, if these were my two daughters, I'd have told her to shut the hell up a long time ago. It was so unnecessary because you were here to reconcile with your child or your, now that you know your child or your potential child, she had no reason to have all this drama, all this drama, no reason at all. Because what she has done is she's made it a harder path for you to connect with your daughter. And whether or not it was because someone told you it was a boy, whether or not it's because the mama didn't call you enough, in her mind, all she knows is my daddy wasn't there.
I feel you.
So all you gotta do to solve it now is just be there. If you defend the past, it's gonna break the present. I wish you the best of luck, all right? I really do.
Thank you.
