Kelly Clements shares how Keira Brinton's book channeling process transformed her second manuscript after struggling with ghostwriting services. She credits the approach with improving both her writing and the overall experience of completing her book.
Hello, aspiring author, and congratulations on your readiness to publish a book. I know it's such a big decision. I'm writing my second book right now. And my first book I wrote several years ago and I used a ghostwriting company and I got okay results. I'm a little cringed out when I read my first manuscript. And so when I was ready to write my second book, I wanted to find a. A company that could really, really help me knock it out of the park. I was really confident in my material and my content. I wanted to put it into the best hands. And so I did. I invested with a company that had a lot of proven notoriety, a lot of really well respected authors, and I was really excited about their process. They had a very well defined process. It was clearly communicated out of the gate, and I was really looking forward to working with them. And I did my first, my first round of calls with them. And when I got my first manuscript back, I was underwhelmed and disappointed, took ownership and was like, where did I give? Not where was I unclear about my creative destruction? I had shifted my, the structure a little bit during our, our content curation calls. And so I took full responsibility and I was like, let me give it this another whack. I'm gonna do some cutting and pasting and let's revisit. And as I got into the manuscript more and more, it was just. There was nothing that I could work with, so I had to start from scratch. And so I was left trying to catch up on my own, writing this book by myself, but still within in their framework so that I could get the book to a point where it was at least editable. And it became very, very overwhelming for me. And after two years, I was still sitting on a shell of a manuscript basically. And thankfully, that's when I met Kira and I learned about her book channeling process. And it has completely, completely changed the game. We've been working together for less than eight weeks, maybe somewhere between six and eight weeks. And what we have done already is exponentially more powerful, more creative, more organic, more common sense than anything I've ever experienced with either one of my publishers or ghostwriters before that.
