Leo Bottary explains Laura Goodrich's "Seeing Red Cars" concept: when you focus on something, you notice it everywhere. Most people know what they don't want but can't say what they do. Define your true desires clearly and express them fearlessly to surround yourself with the right people.

Hi, this is Leo Buttari with the What Anyone Can Do Minute. Today I'd like to talk about one of my favorite people, actually. Her name is Laura Goodrich, and she did a video a number of years ago called Seeing Red Cars, later followed by the book, which she often describes as she kind of did the opposite of how people usually handle that. But in the book, she basically looks at it this way. She says, you know, if you see a red car and you really notice it, all of a sudden now, for days and weeks later, every time you see a red car, you tend to notice it. Because we get more of what we focus on. One of the things she dove into, I think, as far as most people are concerned, though, is when you ask them the question what it is you want, oftentimes they're really able to say, well, what I don't want is blah, blah, blah, but they're not always able to articulate what they do want. Essential to surrounding yourself with the right people is understanding yourself, really digging deep and saying, what do I want? And being fearless about being able to articulate that. And once you do, it'll help you surround yourself with the right people, which will be the first step to actually helping you get what you want.
