This is Leo Buttario with the What Anyone Can Do Minute. You know, one of the most amazing people that I met during the times that I was doing interviews really for both the books and my podcast series was a woman named Angela Meyers. Angela Meyers leads an organization called Choose to Matter. One of the things she talks about is the fact that as little kids, we know even as 5-year-olds, we were born to make a difference. We don't see limitations, right? But somehow as we get older, we don't often think that we matter nearly as much as we do. I even see it in CEO peer groups, for example, where if a CEO can't make a meeting, they just write it off to, well, I couldn't be there that day and I'm the only one that loses for it. Yet when you talk to the other people about what's lost in the conversation when that person doesn't make it there, it's rather extraordinary. You know, it's not unlike a jazz ensemble. You start removing instruments and it's never going to sound the same. So for whatever role you play in your group or your team, just know that you matter, and you matter a lot.
