The Art Of Avoiding Bad Trades...

In this YouTube trade‑recap video, Kai Davis (Speaker A) walks viewers through the day’s market conditions, focusing on higher‑timeframe bias, key technical concepts such as SMT (swept‑low), fair‑value gaps (LFVG/FVG) across multiple timeframes, and the decision process behind avoiding several potentially losing or breakeven trades on ES and NASDAQ. He explains why his daily bias was only moderately bearish—citing a massive SMT on ES and a respected 1‑hour LFVG— and reviews three specific trade setups that he chose not to enter, detailing the contextual cues (displacement, gap size, equal highs/lows) that led to a risk‑off stance. The video then shifts to promote his newly launched trading website (thetradingwebsite.com), highlighting its educational content, trade‑reaction system, quizzes, leaderboards, and funded‑account giveaways, and invites audience feedback on future trade‑recap uploads.

Hello, welcome back to this YouTube channel and this YouTube video. My trading website is now up. That is what I've been focusing on for a very, very long time. So now I'm going to be smashing out these videos again, and starting with today, a trade recap on today. Now I know a lot of traders would have took a lot of stupid trades today because of the higher time frame, and I know a lot of traders would have took a lot of stupid losses today because of the market conditions and the price action. So I'm going to make sure that you understand the good market conditions to trade and the bad market conditions to trade, and why most importantly you should have took zero losing trades today. There was not a single losing trade to take the whole day. Zero. There was literally not one losing trade to take today. So let's go over, let's go over it, starting off most importantly with the higher time frame analysis. Now if we take a quick look— actually, let me load it up. If we take a quick look and look at the MyTrading website, you will see that most people's daily bias today was bearish, and I 100% can see that, including mine. My daily bias was actually leaning a bit more bearish today, and I mean, it's not really surprising. You look at the higher time frames here, what do we notice? We've sucked buy side liquidity. We have some trendline liquidity above, which is actually not good for our bearish bias, but we have displaced very strongly down. We've invers— this bullish FVG, and we're coming for the lows. The reason why I was personally not 100% bearish, and if we take a look at my bias vote here, if we open up the website and take a look at my bias vote, I voted my bias around a 35 out of 100 being bearish. The reason being I'm not 100% bearish on a day like today was because if we look at ES we have a massive SMT. So we have swept this low with ES. So as I said the first thing when I loaded up my stream, my bias is leaning a bit more bearish, but I'm not 100% bearish and I'm open to long positions because we swept this low on ES. And if we look at the 1-hour time frame, we're also respecting a 1-hour LFVG, the last fair value gap of the gap on the 1-hour time frame. And whenever price is respecting this, I mean, look, it's already respected it once, twice, 3 times 4 times, 5 times. Look how much we are respecting this LFVG. It is an extremely strong price to react from. So these 2 reasons are why my bias wasn't completely bearish today, and I'm sure that is different to a lot of other people. So with that in mind, starting with this first potential trade that I know a lot of people would have— could have potentially took a loss on or a breakeven. We inverse this 1-minute with very nice displacement. We have a SMT here So we have some context. We have a lot of context. We have an SMT, we have 1-minute displacement, we've inverses bearish FUG. This could be your breakeven point, a very nice breakeven point, and this could have been your take profit point, which is also 5 minutes equal lows. So there is more than enough context for this trade, you would think. Do you see that 2-minute time frame failed to inverse? This That is why I did not enter into that trade. Have a look, it would have been a breakeven trade. So that would have been a breakeven trade, but that is why I did not enter that first trade. If we inverse the 2-minute time frame, I would have entered into that trade potentially a bit more likely. I would have liked to see something a bit more cleaner. Now this was your second potential trade. This trade I liked a lot more than the first trade that I thought there was a bit more extra context. We failed to inverse NASDAQ on this candle close. If we did inverse— if we did inverse NASDAQ on this candle close, then I would have entered into shorts right there. But we didn't. I did not like this candle close. I wanted to see a bit more displacement, so I did not enter right here. And then on the next candle, let's have a look again. On the next candle, the problem here is that we've took the low on ES. I wasn't opposed to entering, potentially having a late entry here. The reason being we just created triple equal lows on ES, so I was considering potentially if we got a pullback to enter lightly, but I didn't end up taking anything here. If you did take this trade, this is not a bad trade targeting the equal lows. You can take it. Again, it's just not super high probable market conditions. So once we're taking the equal lows, um, on ES and taking out the breakeven point on ES, the trade has a much lower win rate than this trade. It's just too, too small of a fair value gap. We've took the lows on ES as well there. So no, no trade there, and that would have been a break-even trade also. So those 3 trades right there, I'm not interested in taking today. Well, I was interested in taking, but just not the right market conditions for me to be risk-on. That is very important. You need to know when to be risk-on versus risk-off. Look at this consolidation, risk-off. Then we get this big, big move down. To enter into anything, to enter into shorts, you need a retracement. So you need a retracement like this, then then you need to reverse that fair value gap and then look for longs. That's the only way that you do enter into short positions right here. There is one more loss that we ended up avoiding, which was right here. So again, we come down a lot of displacement, we're reacting from the higher time frame fair value gaps being the 5-minute. I believe we even tapped 50% of the 5-minute fair value gap. Yeah, so we tapped 50% of the 5-minute FVG there. We And versus this small 1-minute fair value gap, the reason why I didn't like shorts here— again, remember, I'm not 100% bearish. If I'm 100% bearish here, sure, I'm probably whacking on a light position targeting the lows, but I'm not. We just created equal highs on ES. It's not an ideal size of a fair value gap that I want to see. That is pretty much the main reasons. I would just rather something cleaner. Again, it's just, in my opinion, a forceful trade with these market conditions and the price action that we have seen beforehand. As I was saying on stream, and as I still think, I would much rather long positions here and use this as context. Like, we're respecting this bullish fair value gap, we getting this move up. I would much rather price to come up here, and even with this bearish fair value gap, I probably would have entered into longs here because we have the equal highs on ES with respect to the LFVG and the 4-hour SMT. The reason why I did not enter into these plays was because ES did not then bust that fair value gap. Again, it's just lower market conditions. I'm just being more cautious. Different market conditions, I might play these a lot differently and be a bit more aggressive. Then we've had a big retracement up. This has actually happened after the session. So even right now, if we were to get a retracement into a nice long position, I'm more than open to taking longs targeting these highs, as there is a 1-hour unmitigated— that there's a 4-hour unmitigated and a 15-minute unmitigated Also, we have 4-hour trendline liquidity above. That was today's quick breakdown of all the trades. The trading website is now live. Simply go to thetradingwebsite.com. I've spent ages and ages on this website. There's loads of education. You have trade reactions. So if you're doing some backtesting and you want people to react to your trade, simply look at these trades. People can react to your trades. For example, so right here has put his trade in the chat. People can rate the trade. People are rating this trade a 4-star out of 5-star. I will have a look at this after. You get trade recap, so this video will be in the trade recap section. You get all of these trade quizzes. There is also a leaderboard. For the people that are high up on the leaderboard, I'll be giving some funded accounts away. So very nice. I hope you enjoyed this.
