The truth about day trading from a 21 year old millionaire

A 21-year-old trader explains why day trading is rigged against retail traders: prop firms and brokers profit when you lose. He made money by accepting losses, risking only $250 daily, and hitting 40-50% win rates with consistent risk-to-reward ratios. Discipline and screen time during New York market hours matter more than winning every trade.

Be delusional, okay? You're not meant to become a profitable trader. If it was easy, then absolutely everybody would do it. And I'm gonna be realistic and I'm going to tell you the truth, okay? If it was as easy as people on social media make out to be, then everybody and their nan would be a profitable trader. But that is just not how reality works, and you're not meant to become a profitable trader. What I mean by this is absolutely everything is stacked up against you. Prop firms are made to make you lose. Live accounts are made to make you lose. The trading psychology is made to make you lose. Everything is against you in trading. And the sooner and the quicker that you— oh my God, I need to just kill the motorbike guy. What is he doing? The sooner that you realize that everything is actually against you in trading, then the more that you're going to start to think outside the box, okay? For example, let me give you a few examples. Prop firms only make money when you lose money trading, okay? Get that into your brain. When you lose money in trading, that's when prop firms make money. Same, okay, but it's not the same with brokers. Brokers are slightly a bit different because brokers can also make money when you make money, but a lot of brokers make a lot of their money when you lose money also. Now, trading psychology. I'm sure if you're watching this video, I, I I assume that you've dabbled in a bit of trading here and there. When you're trading and you see a bit of green— what, this is when you're more of a beginner— what do you not do? You don't take your profits. You don't take your profits because you're not happy with the amount of money that you're up. Okay, that's very— or if you do take your profits, you take them very, very early. You instantly take them. There's two different types of people. You either instantly take profits when you see a bit of green, or you're the complete opposite and you don't take profits whatsoever and you wait for a 10 RR Okay, on the other hand, what do people do when it comes to their stop loss? There's two types of people. Again, there's people that literally do not set a stop loss trading. That's one type of person. And then there's other people that set a stop loss but it's humongous. Okay, again, if you're a beginner trader, I'm sure that you have done this before. When you are trading, you see red, your body wants— doesn't— your brain, sorry, doesn't like to see red. You're a human being, okay? It's not normal for you to want to lose and be down money. And when you become a trader, you need to realize that you, you can't be normal anymore. You can't think like a normal person, because if you do, then it will only play against you. It will only be to your disadvantage. When you see red, you need to be happy with losing, and you need to be happy on ending a day with a loss. As crazy as that sounds, especially if you're— this guy's not going to let me in. Are you serious? It's a woman. Okay, no comment. Um, basically what I'm saying is you need to be happy with losing money. If you're not happy with losing money, then you're never going to become a trader. On the other hand, you need to be happy with not taking trades. Now this might sound crazy to a lot of you, but if you really want to become profitable, then the best traders in the world do not take trades every single day. It's just not realistic. You need to go into the market every single day not expecting to take a trade. And if you take— if you get a trade, then you take the trade. If— why is nobody letting me in? I need to get into the other lane. If you do not get a trade, then you do not take it. If you get a trade, then you— why is he not letting me in? Why? He's looking at me and smiling. Yeah, no, he lets me in. What a prick. Okay, these guys ruining my flow. I'm really in flu state right now with this video and they're trying to ruin it. So yeah, if you see a trade, take it. If you don't see a trade, don't take it. As simple as that. Always set a stop loss, okay? When you are entering into a trade, you need to have a stop loss. Now, this might sound so simple, but it is so important. Like I was saying earlier in the video, your brain is made for you to not want to be in red. And when you are in red, what do you want to do? You want to instantly make it back. I'm gonna— I'm gonna say a scenario here that I, I can bet 99% of people watching this video have been in. You take a loss. Let's say you lose $500. You lose $500, you randomly enter into another position. You enter into this position and what happens? You make some money. Your account goes $200 into profit. You see that $200 in profit. What do you not do? You now do not take profits. The reason why you don't take profits is because you're thinking, oh, I was just down $500, this $200 profit, that— what's that? That's nothing. Then what happens? You don't take your profits at $200 profit. You don't set a breakeven, you don't set stop loss, then you lose $1,000, then you blow your account because you start revenge trading after that and after that and after that. And again, I'm telling you, it's normal. I've been through it. Most traders have been through it as well. It is just normal how the human brain works. The sooner that you realize that risk management is probably the most important thing if you want to become a profitable trader, that the quicker that you will become a profitable trader, okay? If you can go into the markets every single day and say, okay, in this, in this— well, in this day, in this trading session, I'm going to maximum risk $250. And if you can stick to that, then you will become profitable. If you can stick to that, then get a trading strategy, then, then everything else will follow. I've seen traders that are not that good traders— no offense to them, they're not that good traders— but what they are really, really, really good at is managing their risk. Not only managing their risk, they are good at staying disciplined. So if you, if you put these two things together— you manage your risk, you stay disciplined, it's— and you learn a strategy. Of course you need a strategy, you need some sort of strategy that is a decent strategy. But I, I genuinely think if I closed my eyes and entered into the market every single day for the rest of the year, I would be better than 99% of traders because I know I'm not going to overshoot trade, I know that my risk management and my risk to reward is good. So even if I lose 2 trades and I win 1 trade, I'm still most likely going to be making money in the markets. You don't need a high win rate, you know. You see all of these people online, and I'm one of them, I, I, um, have a high win rate, and on social media I post that I have a high win rate. But you don't need a high win rate to become profitable. You can become profitable with a— you can technically become profitable with a 40% win rate, easily a 50% win rate. When you have the 70 to 80% win rates that's just a bonus, you know. That just means you're getting really good at trading, and of course that is a bonus. Everybody wants to have a high win rate, but don't focus on that. And that is another thing with trading, in my opinion. This might be a controversial take, but don't focus on statistics, okay? A lot of traders will focus on statistics. Oh, I only have a 65% win rate, this strategy should be an 80% win rate. Who cares? At the end of the day, if you're managing your risk management, your risk and your discipline is good, as long as you're making profits, of course, over time, your risk management is going to get better. Your trading actual strategy is going to get better, where hopefully you'll be making more money in the future because you're starting to understand the markets. Another thing that most mentors don't tell you is that trading, a lot of trading, comes with time. Time in the markets, understanding liquidity. Liquidity is the most important concept. If you can truly learn liquidity and how the market works, then you can start to find Well, you can start to get way better winners because your take profits are a certain liquidity point. You can start using better context because you understand where the market wants to go, whereas it might keep you out of taking a loss as well as that might get you in some more winning trades. So, so just get screen time, okay? Anytime that you can trade when we're in a session, remember you should be trading from 9:30 AM New York time to 11 AM New York time. The lunchtime is 11 to 12, and then you can trade the PM session, which is 2 to 4 PM. If you're free those times of the days and you're not profitable trader, or even if you are a profitable trader and you just want to scale up, then you should be looking at those charts every single day. I should not be outworking you when I'm already profitable. I have not missed a day in the charts for probably 3 years now. 3 years, every single day. There's not been a single day that I haven't missed a day on the charts. Now, I could so easily miss a day here and there, and I'm sure in the future I will start trading less, but I know that I've not reached my potential in trading yet. I'm making a stupid amount of money. If you asked me, am I going to be here this quickly, I probably wouldn't have believed it. I knew that I was always going to be successful with trading because I watch social media like you're doing right now. I watch social media and I said to myself, why on earth is this guy that I'm watching living the life that I want to live? Why aren't I doing it? And that is literally pretty much why I started trading. And I hope you're thinking the same thing. You're looking at me right now, I'm living in Dubai, I'm sitting in a £60,000 car that I bought cash. I'm wearing a £40,000 watch that I bought cash, and I'm driving back to my apartment that I'm paying a stupid amount for. And again, for some people, it's not necessarily about the money. It's just about the freedom. I couldn't— I think it is a Saturday right now. I couldn't even tell you what day it is. Yeah, it's a Saturday night. I just went to fill up to get petrol. I can do what I want, when I want, from wherever I want. Go wherever I want. I can make as much money as I want, obviously depending on the, the trade and week, etc. But there is no limit to it. When— now that I'm a successful trader, all I have to keep doing is keep scaling up, scaling up, scaling up. Make sure that my, that my strategy is always on point. Make sure that my discipline is always on point. And I know that I'm always going to be up a good and a stupid amount of money. And that's the point that you need to get, get to, okay? Just don't focus on the money to start with. Focus on the journey and watch what will happen. If you like this video where I just pick up the camera and just talk, then let me know in the comments below. My last video, my— the comments were amazing on it where I just talked to you guys. So yeah, I hope this motivated a few of you guys. And motivation doesn't last long, okay? I'm sure if this did motivate you, some of you guys, you'll be motivated right now and you wake up in the morning and it'll be like you never even watched this video, okay? So So motivation, you need to be disciplined and you need to actually want— what on earth is this guy doing? And you need to actually want to become a profitable trader, okay? So if you can do that, then you will become successful. If you made it all the way to the end of this video, you already won it more than 99% of traders. So just comment something nice and leave like a smiley face at the end of your message so I know that you watched it all the way to the end. And yeah, if you want me to keep uploading videos like this where I'm just talking, then let me know and I can keep giving it to you. Every time I need to go and get petrol or something. So thanks for watching, and I will see you all on the next video. Bye, everybody.
