Here is five things I wish I knew when I started working out. Number one, warm up. Not warming up is the biggest reason most people get hurt, and I've been guilty of this in the past as well. Number two, prioritize form over weight. It doesn't matter how much weight you're moving if your form isn't on point. You will get much more out of the exercise by doing this. Trust me. Number three, have a structured routine or split. Going to the gym with a plan. If you just go walk around and pick exercise based on how you feel that day, you won't really see any progress. Number four, sleep. Sleep. Sleep is super important for recovery and overall health. Make sure to get at least 8 hours every night. Number 5, and my personal favorite, focus on yourself and your own journey. It doesn't matter how far along anyone else is unless you're looking at them for the sole reason of how you can learn from them or to get some inspiration. Otherwise, you're just comparing yourself and you won't enjoy the process. So instead, focus on yourself.
