The Exact System That Got This Entrepreneur & Father Jacked in 90 Days

Matthew transformed his body in 90 days under coach Lucas Wilhelm Hedenbäck after a wake-up moment playing pickleball with his 6-year-old. He went from fasted morning workouts and a collagen-coffee-butter drink to hitting 45 lb curls and a 1,000 lb leg-press goal. The system works on one principle: consistent daily inputs, nothing complicated.

It was funny because it was a wake-up call playing pickleball with my 6-year-old because it was like a really humbling moment of like, you know, I'll be— so I turned 40 in March and it was like, he's my oldest. I mean, so he's— I got— I have a lot of years where I've got to make sure I, you know, I'm not getting beat by my kids.
Yeah.
And it was like a really good wake-up call of like, this is why, because I want to be able to do this and I want to be able to— even when he's in high school. You know, I want to be able to compete with them, the mass up in my shoulders and my chest. And it's like, I, yeah, I had to go buy some new shirts because I was like, dude, these mediums are just like, I look like a little kid trying to wear a muscle shirt. I'm not for that. I mean, even look back at the picture when I did the first picture I did with you, you know, it's like, it's crazy even then. Like, just, I just, yeah, a lot has changed and it's great, man. So I just can't thank you enough. What I think I appreciate the most about what you do and what you provide is the simplicity. You make it easy to follow. And it's like, it makes you realize that really it's like completely, you got to hold yourself accountable because you're not throwing anything at people that's overcomplicated. And it's like, dude, here's what I'm doing. Here's what you need to do. Now it's totally on you. And so thank you for just making it simple.
Yeah.
I finally took the— yeah, I finally took the 80s off the rack, so that was pretty exciting. Um, I'm curling like 45s now, which is crazy. I mean, I was like only curling 30s back then. Um, and then dips, I'm doing like nowhere near what you're doing, you freaking Hercules. But, um, you know, I could hardly do body weight when we first started, right? And now I'm doing at least— and everything's obviously in pounds for me, but it's like, I think the last Monday, this Monday, I did a 45 with a test. I did like 55 pounds hanging from a belt.
Crazy.
On top of my body weight. So yeah, yeah, man, it's, it's great, dude. It's awesome.
Yeah, and imagine like just obviously it's always, it's, it always goes astronomical in the beginning. It kind of smoothens out the, of course, like the rate. But imagine like just keeping that up and as well, like imagine just, I don't even know, like give it 6 more months, where are you gonna be then if you just let that compound as well? That's absolutely insane.
Yeah, I told my wife, I said my goal, and I don't know if it's healthy, but if I could rep 1,000 pounds for 5 reps on the leg press, I'd be stoked.
Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, how's that? That's like 450 kgs, I think.
Something like that, probably.
Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Yeah, it's like right now, what do I have on there? It's how many? What is it? 16? 16? Plates, plus I had 16 plates plus like a 10 and a 10, you know, to get to 740 yesterday.
You know what I hate the most about that?
What?
The part where you have to hook all the plates on.
Oh, put all the plates, yeah.
It's the worst thing.
And, and this gym here, for some reason, they don't even have like a rack right next to that machine. So like, dude, I'm like stealing weights from the bench press area and like people hate me. I'm like, I don't care, dude, I gotta get my weight. Sorry, I'm only doing 2 sets, I won't be that long.
Yeah, no, I know, that's, that's the, the worst thing when you move up the weights. There's like, it, the, the, it sucks to bring all those plates and hook them up, take all those back again.
Yeah, I got lucky yesterday. There was a huge dude that came in after me on the leg press and I, I started taking off like one plate and he was like, you're good, you can leave it. I was like, oh, thank God, man, you saved me some time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So no, that's really good. That's good.
But yeah, and then like as far as food goes, you know, I'll be honest, like I've just like consistently, and I don't know, I mean, you tell me, but I have been really trying to just like intuitively eat when it comes to just like the carbs, like you kind of talk about, just kind of eat that based around like the activity I'm gonna be doing, you know? Yeah. And trying to wean it off towards the end of the day when I'm obviously not gonna be doing much besides just like working and/or going to bed. So, my dinners are pretty just high proteins. And, if it's a carb, it's more of just a vegetable than it is a starch. But then, my mornings, dude, religiously lately just because it's easy has been the black coffee, the collagen peptides with honey and butter.
Awesome.
So that's like, that's what I'm doing first thing. And I work out just on that. Like I kind of work out fasted, you know what I mean? And then as soon as I'm done my quote unquote breakfast, and again, this is probably just outta convenience because I usually am kind of on the go, but I, I'm doing the 4 raw eggs, the frozen, like a cup of frozen berries.
Berries. Yep.
Honey. I do a little kefir and banana and just you know, blend it.
Spot on.
That's okay? Yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're good with that? Okay. 'Cause that's still like, I think I measured it all and I'm still getting almost like 30 grams of protein just out of that.
Yeah, and like that's, that's my preferred way as well if you're working out in the, in the AMs. First of all, like just the collagen and stuff, like take it to the next level, maybe throw in some Shilajit in there as well. Uh, but like besides that, spot on. That's what I'm doing myself. Just that, you don't need more than that because you still have food in your system from the day before. And then just to shake because once again, You want to feel light, right? You don't want to feel—
Yes.
Like you have this big, heavy stomach in the AM. So just drink that. It's spot on. That's— if I'm having early workouts, it's exactly what I'm doing myself as well.
Okay, cool. And then yeah, come lunch, then I'm like, dude, I'm ready to eat the couch. You know, like that's when I go ham. Like that's what I do. If I do like a, um, a rice or a potato kind of carb, that's when I'll do it. It's just at lunch. And then like I said, come dinner, I just wean off and just keep it high protein.
And yeah, no, that's, that's perfect. That's exactly the structure I want to see. And like, that's okay. The, the either you do, you can do like either like the Powerball or the, the shake post-workout is what I would probably do. Then come lunch, as you said, then you have the, you have the high carb, high proteins. You have just either rice, potatoes, and then some either beef or chicken or whatever it might be, you know, good, good protein source, sauerkraut, perfect. And then dinner structured as high protein, high fats.
Um, that's—
and that's, that's the structure once again, like what I would want to see you like continue with as well. And then obviously throwing in like whenever you fancy, I guess you can always throw in some, you know, good quality, I don't know, Häagen-Dazs or some good quality ice cream or something for like dessert after dinner, right? But sure, structure-wise, that's the— is what you should be trying to, to stick to as well, in my opinion.
Okay, great. Yeah, because that's just been for me and my lifestyle, I guess.
Yeah, convenient.
Yeah, it's just like what's worked for me, you know, and I like it. I don't get sick of it, I guess, you know. Some people probably look at me like, dude, what the heck, it's like every day. I'm like, well, yeah, man, but it's I'm pretty regimented.
Yeah, hearing that once again, I think you know what to do training-wise. It's pretty straightforward as well nutrition-wise. You already have that on lock. It's just like staying consistent with that. And it sounds like we would definitely kind of foster something where it feels like, or at least it feels like you have something now that you actually can, can stick to, which is obviously the most important.
For sure, man. I think the biggest takeaway, dude, out of all of this and all this time is like It's just consistency across the board. That's all it is. Like, if I— it's— there's no secret sauce, man, like you always say. It's just, it's so much more simple than people think. It is not complex at all whatsoever. It's just showing up and doing it day in, day out. And like, it just by default, all— everything falls into place where you, where you want it to and where you need it to.
100%. It's, it's the focusing on the daily inputs. Once again, if we just take that, the dips analogy, uh, imagine when you stand like in— when is it going to be? Beginning of June or end May or whenever it was. And then just like this coming year, looking back at, you know, barely being able to do bodyweight. And then I don't know how much you're gonna stand there with when that comes around, but you know, it's gonna be a good amount of weight you have, uh, Oh yeah, dude, for sure.
At one year, at one year mark. Yeah, no, for sure. And it's funny, dude, because like I've even had to go out and buy like different t-shirts, and that sounds ridiculous, but like I've just been able to maintain the mass up in my shoulders and my chest. And it's like, I, yeah, I had to go buy some new shirts because I was like, dude, these mediums are just like, I look like a little kid trying to wear a muscle shirt. I'm not for that.
Yeah, no, I love it.
It's, it's good, man. It's all good. And yeah, it's like, like you said, it'll be fun to see just a year from that day, as long as I, you know, just keeping it consistent. That's all. That's really all it is.
Yeah, you'll have to shoot me an update then, like when you're— when we're at that 1-year mark and like, okay, how, how far did we actually—
Yeah, no, I will. I will for sure. And I'll be full-on honest at that point. You know, but I will because yeah, I mean, even look back at the picture when I did the first picture I did with you, you know, it's like, it's crazy even then, like just, I just, yeah, a lot has changed and it's great, man. So I just can't thank you enough.
Yeah, no, of course you should be clapping yourself on the shoulders. Well, obviously I can only do my part. So you've been obviously executing throughout the whole time as well, Matthew. That's, that's the most important thing also.
Well, I just, I appreciate that, but I mean, what I think I appreciate the most about what you do and what you provide is the simplicity. You make it easy to follow and it's like, it makes you realize that really it's like completely, you gotta hold yourself accountable because you're not throwing anything at people that's overcomplicated. And it's like, dude, here's what I'm doing. Here's what you need to do. Now it's totally on you. And so thank you for just making it.
Simple. Yeah, of course. But it is, it's not rocket science, but that's, uh, people think it is. People think it's so complicated, but at the end of the day, it's like, okay, it's doing the, the boring simple things over a longer period of time. That's the secret. That's the only secret.
It is, man. Just strip it all back because it's like, I just think there's so much distraction this day and age, both in nutrition and working out. It's crazy how much is out there. I think just people just get lost and it's like, man, sometimes you just gotta go backwards, you know? Yeah. Go back to the basics.
Agreed. Agreed.
I think I'm good. I'm really— I'm shocked and kind of like just super pumped that we were really much kind of on the same wavelength, man. That's awesome. That makes me very happy. So yeah.
You've learned a thing or two, it sounds like.
I guess. Yeah, man, I guess. So yeah, no, man. All I gotta say is you got to get your butt over here to Las Vegas at some point.
Yeah, yeah, I'll definitely— probably we'll see. But it's not sometime during 2026. I definitely want to head to the US. So yeah, you'll know, I'll hit you up as soon as that's on the table.
You better, man. I mean, it's the quote unquote entertainment capital of the world. No, absolutely, dude. It was funny because it was a wake-up call playing pickleball with my 6-year-old. Because it was like a really humbling moment of like, you know, I'll be— so I turned 40 in March and it was like, he's my oldest. I mean, so yeah, he's— I got— I have a lot of years where I've got to make sure I, you know, I'm not getting beat by my kids.
Yeah.
And it was like a really good wake-up call of like, this is why I need to just stay consistent because I want to be able to do this and I want to be able to— even when he's in high school, you know, I want to be able to compete with him. So yeah, that it's a it's a good motivation.
Yeah, it really is. That's one of the deepest like purposes or why you can have right?
For sure, 100%.
All right, Matthew.
All right, buddy.
Nice to see you. You know where I'm at if there's anything. And yeah, it's been it's been a pleasure.
Yeah, dude. Absolutely, man. Can't thank you enough. Very grateful for you, and we'll definitely be in touch.
Yeah, good stuff. Ciao, mate.
All right, buddy. Take care.
