The Only 3 Steps You Need to Fix Bloating

Lucas Wilhelm Hedenbäck breaks bloating into four causes: slow digestion, poor nutrient breakdown, histamine intolerance, and microbiome problems. His fix: calm the gut with bland foods and low stress, then slowly reintroduce variety in tiny amounts to rebuild digestion. Skip restrictive diets and probiotics, which don't address the real issue.

Okay, so you most likely pressed on this video because after every single meal, no matter how clean or how perfect the food is, you're getting bloated. And in this video, I'm gonna break down exactly why that is and also what you can do in order to fix this for good. So let's get into it. First of all, this is also the framework that helped me go from, you know, this, looking like a blown-up balloon, getting bloated after every single time I ate, struggling with my energy level, having no libido, being stressed, looking puffy and holding on the water, to obviously looking like this now, just a few years later. And before we dive into this, we have to understand what actually bloating is, because there's different forms of bloating. So depending on what actual issue you have, you will have different forms of bloating. And what do I mean with that? Well, let's say your motility is just super slow. That means that when you then add food into the system, It's not gonna be able to pass through your GI tract as quickly, which is gonna cause bloating because you're kind of just filling up the pipes, right? And that is gonna cause bloating. Or you might be bloated because you eat food and your body is not able to actually break down the nutrients and process the food properly. That can also cause bloating, right? So there's all these different forms of bloating that you can experience and understanding Which of those forms is very, very important to understand your exact game plan of fixing it, but the framework to fix it is still the same, right? And we also have to understand that if you're getting bloated despite eating the healthiest food, you're spending thousands of dollars a month on the best quality, grass-fed, locally, whatever, all the best of the best stuff, this is a warning sign. Warning sign, sorry. It means that your body is not actually breaking down and utilizing the food that you're eating. Which if you don't fix it is gonna cause massive problems down the line. It's gonna worsen your hormones, it's gonna worsen your energy, it's gonna worsen your health, it's gonna worsen every single thing in your body, right? So it's crucial to actually address it and fix it. So how do we do that? Well, then, well, we have to calm down the gut first of all. So the first step is always to start taking away all the things that you're having in your life that is damaging your gut right now in the first place. Some examples of this is, in your case, most likely chronic stress, right? Being overly stressed in your day-to-day life. And a good example that I talk a lot about here is like eating whilst you're stressed, which as a byproduct is gonna shut down your stomach acid production, it's gonna shut down your bile production, it's gonna shut down all these internal processes, which means that you're not properly prepared for digesting the food. And this is the thing that I see all the time with all people that come to me, it's like they're eating in front of the screens, they're eating Between 5 minutes between my next meeting, let's get a meal in because that's the only time I have. They're multitasking, they're listening to something at the same time as they're eating, and they're, they're watching. Maybe you're sitting here watching this video and eating, and this is one of the worst things you can do on top of just being overly stressed in general, which I have videos on my channel breaking down exactly how to fix chronic stress and frameworks we should be utilizing for that. But The first and most important thing is eliminating all the things that is worsening and kind of affecting your system in the first place right now. Stress, also maybe artificial sweeteners, maybe you're drinking some, some, you're overstimulated on caffeine, which is causing your baseline of stress to be even more elevated. Maybe your sleep is not dialed in, which leaves you more sensitive towards stress in the first place as well. It's a never-ending spiral of all these things. But fixing your stress is number one and taking away all the things that are actually damaging your gut if you have some of those in your current life. And that can also be the good thing. And this is where a lot of people get stuck because things as sauerkraut, bone broth, and sardines, all these things that are generally speaking considered super healthy for your gut, at this set time when your gut is downregulated, those things can cause more problem than good. Because what all of those things that I just mentioned have in common is that they're high histamine, right? And if your body, if all your internal processes are downregulated, it means that you're not gonna be able to process and handle histamine as well because your DAO enzyme production is not where it needs to be and the spiral just continues. So even the best of the best food can still be problematic for you and that is what we have to understand. So calming your body down, calming the food down, making the food simple and boring, For just therapeutic for a few weeks is the first step. After that, it's gonna be to start upregulating all your internal processes because when you've downregulated or when you've calmed down your digestive traits and when you've started to actually be able to process all the things that you're eating, okay, now we can start to upregulate all these internal processes because if we restrict for too long, that also is gonna become massive problems because that means that your microbiome is gonna be even more downregulated and every single internal process is gonna be even more downregulated because you're restricting too much. And this is also the situation a lot of people find themselves in when they go on like a carnivore diet or a crazy reset low FODMAP diet or something like this, right? What happens is you get fantastic results initially because you do that and then you take away all these things that started to ferment in your gut and whatnot, so you feel amazing for a few weeks and then everything starts to get worse. because you're restricting for too long and you're downregulating your microbiome, which is one of the key indicators and key first things when it comes to all sorts of, or your whole health, your health as a whole. Microbiome is where it all starts. So upregulating that, and that is through simple diversification. Throw in just some random things. I like to think of this as, you know, when we were children, we were playing around in the grass and we were putting our fingers in the grass and then in our mouth. Then we got some dirt on our fingers and put that in our mouth. And we got a lot of bacteria in us. That doesn't mean that the dirt was good and healthy for us. That was not the case. But it acted as a bacterial imprint, right? A data set. And this is how we want to think about food. A lot of people are so anti-everything. We're anti-this, anti-that, anti-vegetables, anti-this because it's anti-nutrients, this and that, all this bullshit, right? Which I agree. But we don't want to consume them for the nutritional side. We want to consume all of those things from a bacterial side. So I want to have a bit of veggies in a super small amount because I want that bacterial imprint. Same thing as with the dirt when we were children, right? And then you— it's funny how you take this because now when you look at all the children right now growing up, it's like everything is over-sanitized. Everyone, you know, you can't be out playing. This and that. You have to wash your hands, sanitize all of this. What this creates is unhealthier people and an unhealthier society. So I could talk for hours about or on the on this topic, but hopefully you get the point, right? You almost want to be a bit dirty, and you always want to have a balance of like good and bad bacteria in your gut. So that means eating things that are a bit suboptimal just to get and give your gut those data. Imprints or those data points. So diversify broadly, you know, herbs, a lot of vegetables, a lot of fruit, a bunch of different things, but in very small amounts. Because if you eat those in high amounts, I don't think that's a smart thing, right? Because that's very hard to process. You have the phytonutrients or anti-nutrients and fatty acid and all these things, right? So therapeutic microdosing and broad diverse. Obviously I explain With my clients, we go more in depth on exactly how this looks and how you should be applying that. So if you're interested in that, you can check the first link in the description. But the framework is what still matters, and that's what I want you to take away. And then step number 3 is to support your gut with your lifestyle, because the best prevention, or the best cure, is prevention. And this is how we wanna view it. When you've kind of done the step 1 and step 2, which is the first initial things which will get you very, very far. Then 3 is maintenance/prevent this from happening another time. So making sure you're dialed in with your sleep, making sure you're managing your stress levels, making sure you're keeping good healthy maintenance in your gut with good healthy bacteria and you're eating good stuff, you're eating the sauerkraut, you're eating the bone broth to support your gut lining when you can actually tolerate those things. And you're Not training too much and you're managing your stress load and your stress bucket and managing your nervous system and all these sort of healthy lifestyle variables and sticking to them consistently. That is what's gonna bulletproof you from getting these problems in the first place or getting them again. And maybe you're watching this and you don't have any severe problems right now, then start doing these things, the step 3, either way, because that is once again— Prevention is the best cure. So starting to prevent yourself from, by doing all these sort of lifestyle things which are super, super relevant and super important is very much of relevance for you. So that is the 3-step process of actually fixing your bloating and fixing your gut. And notice how I never mention any probiotics or any bullshit supplements like this. This is because this doesn't work. This is just surface-level problem solving. And that's most likely where you've already tried that a bunch of times, most likely watching this, right? You've already tried the probiotics, the supplements, the gut healing protocols and the cleanses maybe, whatever it might be, but you're still here. And that means that you haven't fixed the root. And it's as I say all the time, you don't have 30 separate problems, you have one overloaded system. And that is the root to all these symptoms that are manifesting in your day-to-day life right now. So you have to go to the root, fix that, and then that's how you'll be able to actually fix this long-term. And then you can start adding up some supplements when you're actually fixed to amplify everything and to make everything even better. That should be how you should be approaching it rather than just jumping from pill to pill to antimicrobial protocol to whatever, the things that you've been doing in the past. So if you do this 3-step process, I can guarantee you that the bloating that you're feeling right now will not be seen. It will not be near. I used to get bloated after every meal. Now I never get bloated. And I'm applying this right now. Obviously I'm kind of in step 3 because I've already fixed my gut. So I'm managing my lifestyle. I'm doing all these good habits. I'm making sure that I'm eating outside. I'm making sure that I'm not rushed when I'm eating. I'm making sure that I'm taking a few minutes to calm down before. Because this is an investment. It's an investment in me making sure that the food is going to the right places, making sure that the food is going to support my hormones, making sure that the food is going to recover me. And I understand that that is the highest leverage thing that I can focus on. Therefore, it's the top of my priority. And as a byproduct, I reap the rewards. Not bloated, shredded, training 2 times per week, and I feel a million bucks. And that is what I wish for you as well. So follow this. To a T, and your issues will be solved. And if you have any questions on, on this topic, let me know in the comments. If there's anything you want me to dive deeper— this was just surface level and kind of the framework you should be applying— so if you want me to dive deep, let me know. If you have any questions on it, as I said, let me know. And if you're watching this and you're, you, you've had all these problems for, for maybe a couple years and you, you, you're at the point where you don't want to try, try yourself anymore, well then you can also apply for my coaching. One-to-one coaching. And that is— it's not for everyone.
