The Only Detox Protocol You'll Ever Need.. (Superhuman Protocol)

Lucas Wilhelm Hedenbäck outlines a daily detox strategy targeting the liver, gut, kidneys, skin, and lymphatics with specific nutrients like NAC, milk thistle, and cilantro. He emphasizes bile flow, regular bowel movements, sauna with contrast therapy, and movement for lymphatic drainage as essential practices, framed as a lifelong approach rather than a one-time cleanse.

Detoxification is one of the most important variables when it comes to our health. Why? Well, because it's our body's internal trash and garbage system. That's how we are processing all the toxins that we're getting exposed to and all the waste and getting that out of our system. So optimizing your detox pathways is a key thing when it comes to your health. And something that I see all the time with people having a lot of health issues is that they don't have their detox pathways optimized, which means that a lot of toxin buildup is happening inside your body, and with that comes a lot of problems down the line, whether that be brain fog, whether that be gut issues, whether that be histamine sensitivity, whether it be joint pain. It can be so many things based on, you know, that's where genetics comes in, in my opinion. Same root cause can cause a lot of different situations in a lot of different people. But with that being said, obviously super important to optimize your detox pathways. So today I'm feeling a bit generous. I'm gonna show you a video from my coaching program, which is a module that all my clients get access to, which is exactly how to optimize your detox pathways and all things that you should be focusing on in order to do so and in order for your detox, your garbage system to be working and functioning how it's supposed to. So take out a pen and paper, take some notes, thank me later. If you're interested in working with me one-to-one to fix your health, then you know what to do as well. Look at this video, see all the value, implement it, See how your life changed, then you can book in a call and see if, if my coaching program is something for you. But hope you enjoy. This is detox pathway optimization. Let's roll it. Detoxification is a core pillar in the Superhuman Protocol for a couple of different reasons. First of all, we're always going to be exposed to environmental toxins and shit. So no matter how dialed we are with all the small little details and, and do what we can, which is something that we're going to cover today, you know, we want to control what we can, but there's always going to be shit. You know, there are cars driving on the, on the street with the tires that, you know, if they're still edge and damage on the tires, that's going to end up in the air. You know, we have airplanes flying, like there's always going to be environmental toxins that we're exposed to. So therefore, it's super, super important that we do everything we can in order to optimize our detoxification pathways so that we have a system that can clear all this shit. Because if all this shit gets stuck and trapped in us, well, then we have a massive problem. So without further ado, let's dive into this. Why does this matter then? Well, one of the most overlooked reasons people feel chronically fatigued, hormonally imbalanced, inflamed, mentally foggy, and unable to recover is because is because their detoxification pathways are overloaded or inefficient. Your body is constantly exposed to toxins. Constantly. Modern life exposes us to more chemicals and pollutions than any. Point in human history prior, right? Plastics and microplastics, pesticides, heavy metals, environmental pollution, cereals and processed foods, mold toxins, endocrine disruptors. Our body is designed to detoxify these compounds naturally, but detoxification is not automatic. It depends on function, or it depends on a functional Biological system, so we gotta do our part. When these systems are overwhelmed or dysfunctional, toxins accumulate and start interfering with mitochondrial function, hormonal signaling, nervous system balance, metabolic health, even hormones, which is why detoxification is a foundational pillar of the Superman Protocol. So in order to to understand this, we have to understand the the system, or in order to to know what to do, we have to understand the system and how this works. So detoxification is not a single process, it's a multi-organ system involving, first of all, the liver, which is our primary detox organ. And the liver processes toxins through 2 phases. Number one is the activation phase, which means that toxins are broken down into intermediate compounds, and these intermediates can sometimes be even more toxic than the original compound. This is also why it's super, super important for us to actually make sure that these are getting extracted from our body and not staying stuck within. Because the first step, it does with most things in health, it almost gets worse before it gets better, right? So when our body breaks these things down, they become even more toxic. Therefore, it's super, super important that we have an optimized system that can actually clear those. Then the liver binds the toxins to molecules and things so that they become water soluble so that they can be excreted from there, from the system. That's how it works. Second part of the the system is the gut. The gut eliminates toxins through stool. Obviously, if digestion is poor or constipation occurs, toxins can be reabsorbed into circulation, which is no bueno. This is called entrophatic recirculation. So it's super super important that our bio flow is also optimized and that we're you know. Having solid bowel movements throughout the day and not being constipated. Kidneys filter toxins from blood and eliminate them through urine. Hydration and mineral balance are crucial here for this to be able to happen. And then we have the skin as well. Skin is eliminate— your skin eliminates toxins through sweat. This is why sweating is such a powerful detox tool. Same way it eliminates toxins through sweat, we also absorb through the skin, or yeah, where we also absorb toxins through the skin basically. So it's a two-way street. So that's— this is why we also want to be very, very cautious with what we're putting on our skin when it comes to, you know, skincare. And, you know, we never want to put sunscreen and things like this, right? Because that is going to absorb toxins straight into our bloodstream. Lymphatic system is also part of the detoxification system. The lymph system moves waste out of tissues. Unlike blood circulation, it requires movement to function. Sedentary lifestyle slows lymphatic detox. People often experience symptoms such as brain fog, low energy, persistent bloating, skin issues, low libido, hormonal imbalances, poor recovery, sensitive to alcohol or chemicals. These are often signs that the body is overloaded and unable to process toxins efficiently. So if you're feeling or if you're having something, some of these symptoms, signs are the detoxification pathways are not optimized. So how do we fix this system then? Well, first of all is to remove as much of the sources as possible. Before trying to detox, we have to reduce toxin exposure as much as we can. Otherwise, you're trying to empty a bathtub While the fog is still running, so start by removing the biggest sources. I'm going to cover those in a second. But once again, the key thing here that we have to understand is we're never going to be able to remove everything. This is why it's so important that we doubt we actually control what we can because of the fact that you're go like you're 100% going to be overloaded with the amount of shitty exposure that we get like just by being alive and the things that we can't control such as. You know, pollution in the air. Once again, just heavy metals in the sky. Whatever it might be, you know, we are already so exposed. So I think this is one of the key important key things because if we then don't control the things that we can control, there is a guarantee that your system is overloaded and not functioning properly. So remove. What does that mean? We want to avoid plastic water bottles. This is primary thing. You know, obviously, I always have my glass one. Plastic food containers, nonstick Teflon cookware, synthetic fragrances, deodorants, all sorts of, you know, what do you say, bad, or what's the English word? You get the point. Deodorants, fragrances, skincare, all these things. Health— not health, but, uh, ah, whatever, you get what I mean. All sorts of toxic cleaning products as well. This means things as shampoo as well, most shampoos, you know. Uh, what else do we have? We have toothpaste, we have mouthwash if you're using something, if you have something like that. Body washes as well. Like all these things we want to dial in and have the good stuff instead. Under this video on the on this page, I'm gonna put all the pictures and links to everything that I'm using in in these categories so you can see if you can find and pick that up as well. But reduce all the classic things and plastic also plastic spatulas. Anything plastic, you know, plastic cutting boards. I want to switch to glass or stainless steel, natural cleaning products, fragrance-free personal care. Personal care is the— was the word I was looking for. All sorts of personal care products. You want to be super, super good and super, super clean. Um, wooden cutting boards, wooden spatula, cast iron pan or stainless steel pan. Switch to all these things. We want to focus on, or obviously we want to reduce dietary toxins as well. We want to focus on whole foods, high-quality animal proteins, organic produce when possible. We want to avoid excess intake of ultra-processed food, seed oils, artificial additives, and things that are non-organic because that means that they're going to be overloaded with such things as pesticides and insecticides. And if you're living in the US or Asia, it's going to be glyphosate as well, which is a known neurotoxin. So focus on the cleanest, most local, highest quality food as always as well. Super, super important. Second step is to support liver detox pathways. Your liver detox system relies on specific nutrients and amino acids. Without them, detoxification slows dramatically. So what we can do here is first of all NAC, which is a super, super powerful supplement and something that I recommend to almost all of you guys. It's one of the most powerful detox supplements. Benefits of NAC include it increases glutathione production, it supports liver detox, and it neutralizes oxidative stress. So NAC is super, super, super powerful. Typical dose is 1 or 2 caps of this exact brand, Life Extension. Exactly the one I have. MSM, super, super powerful for detoxification. Also provides sulfur needed for detoxification that supports phase 2 liver detox, connective tissue health, inflammation reduction as well. 1 to 3 grams daily is usually the standard dose. I usually do 2 grams. That's what I do. Also life extension. So NAC, MSM, and then supplement a very good also mineral is silica. Silica supports detoxification of aluminum and heavy metals. It also improves your connective tissue, skin, skin and hair health. So I'm this is except and then I'm having dropping or drops of silica with my drops of boron before going to bed is what I'm doing to help that. We also have to understand the correlation between heavy metals and minerals in when we think about detoxification. because they work as antagonizing units. So if you have higher amounts of a specific heavy metal in you, it's going to put up or push out the other, the antagonizing mineral. But if we have high amounts of that specific mineral, it's going to help detox that antagonizing, antagonizing heavy metal. And obviously silica is antagonizing with aluminum, which is the one heavy metal that we're 100% exposed to the most, therefore also on the highest of the priority list to, to try to detox. And get rid of glycine amino acid is super super important as well supports liver detox and bile production also improves sleep and nervous system recovery of course three to five grams a day before sleep also very very good to calm down nervous system and to improve our sleep of course taurine supports bile production and fat digestion as well important for toxic toxic or toxin elimination taurine I take taurine in the morning and also before going to bed. Then we have some herbal detox support things that we can utilize. Certain herbs significantly support liver detox. Milk thistle is one of those. It supports liver cell generation, improves detoxification capacity. Then we have a very controversial one: dandelion root supports bile flow and liver function, also supports digestion. So it's not just the root of the dandelion, like the whole dandelion is edible. This is, and I think it's very interesting how this works because obviously if you know what this is, this is what people look at as, what do you say, we call it ogräs in Sweden, but it's basically looked at as a shitty flower that is annoying, that grows everywhere, and that is, you know, you just want to get rid of this, which is actually one of the most healthy things you could ever consume. The whole flower is edible. What I usually do is I eat the flower, right? I go out on my yard, I eat the flower. You can use the leaves in salads, super, super good. It almost tastes like arugula or rocket. You can literally consume the whole thing. You can take the root and you can make a coffee substitute out of it. Dandelions are one of the most, like, the healthiest thing you can ever consume. So obviously you want to make sure that you're picking these up from like your yard where you know you haven't They haven't been sprayed with pesticides and insecticides and all these things, or make sure they're not super close to a big road where they're gonna have a shit ton of toxins and pollution and whatever on them. But if you, or if you have a family member that you know have this, instead of, you know, it's always when I go home to my family, my mother's always every, every year, she is the worst thing she know, this fucking Dandelions that are popping up and she has to pick them up from the whole yard. I'll take that job. You can even make tea with it. You put the flowers and then pour some hot water over and then you get dandelion tea. Like, this is one of the best things you can ever do for your health and it's going to support detoxification. So what I usually do in the summers also, I put the flowers, I spread them on top of my food, Once again, I use the the leaves in salads. Kind of it tastes exactly like arugula. You can do everything with this. So stop throwing this away and start consuming it. One of the healthiest things that you can ever ever eat. Actually crazy. We can also use all sorts of. I mean, the most powerful ones are cilantro and garlic, but all sorts of herbs in in general. You know, thyme, coriander, cilantro, thyme. As much as you can to all your food. I always try to do it. I always have it at home. It's super cheap. To get at least here organic herbs, and I throw that on to everything. Always just throw it on on the food. It makes it taste taste better as well. It makes it look makes it look nicer as well. And then garlic super super powerful. If you can consume some raw garlic a couple times throughout the week, super super powerful. We can dip it in honey to make the taste go or not make the taste go away, but to not get this garlic flavor in in our mouth. So I usually take a raw garlic. I dip it in. Some raw honey, eat, and it doesn't give you this garlic smell in your mouth. So super, super powerful things to utilize when you're cooking and making your food as well. Step number 4 is to improve bile flow. So bile is critical for detoxification, obviously. It binds toxins so they can be eliminated through stool. Without proper bile flow, toxins recirculate. So we can support bile flow production with bitter foods, same thing here, such as arugula, rocket, The dandelion leaves, taurine, glycine, choline, egg yolks, and grass-fed fat. So it's important for us to have fats in our system whilst we're supporting the— supporting the— or for to be able to bind onto all the toxins as well. Step 5 is to optimize gut elimination. Detoxification cannot work without proper elimination, of course. So the goal here is always to have 1 to 2 solid bowel movements per day at least. Support gut elimination with fiber from whole foods. Not too much, not too little. And obviously keep in mind if you're sensitive to fiber in general. Magnesium, hydration, movement. If toxins are mobilized but not eliminated, symptoms can get worse. This is why if you're like doing detox wrong, once again, it can get worse. So it's super, super important to do it and make sure that your system is actually optimized to be able to detox. I have an example of a client that came to me where he had been trying detox protocols and it just always made him feel so shit. He had been buying things, activated charcoal and, and things like this, and he, he like, he literally felt like crap because the guy that he had went to, some detox, um, well-known detox guru that most of you guys maybe have seen— I'm not going to mention any names, but you probably can guess who— hadn't even looked at anything else in the equation, which is, oh, take all these things and then you're going to detox. But without having all the other puzzle pieces in place, it's not going to work, right? We have to support our whole detoxification system for our body to actually be able to, to, to, to process it and to get rid of all the shit. If our body is not optimized, once again, if we just metabolize everything or mobilize everything, but it's, it can't get out, then it's going to make or it's going to cause massive problems for you. So super important to think of that as well. We can use binders when necessary. Binders capture toxins in the gut so they can be excreted. This prevents toxin reabsorption. So one that I like to use, which is my favorite one, which is very easy on the gut usually, is modified citrus pectin. It binds to heavy metals and toxins and improves— it also improves cardiovascular health. This is exactly the one that I'm using. I use that for sauna sometimes when I feel like I need it. We can also use zeolite, which supports heavy metal binding. Never used zeolite myself, actually. My preferred one is modified citrus pectin that I use a few times here and there. Always have it at home on hand when needed, and it works wonders for me. But binders should be taken away from meals and supplements, of course, and not be used like on a regular— like, they should be used if we actually need it, you know. Step 7 is sweat-based detox. Of course, sweating is one of the most effective detox pathways. So sauna obviously being the first one here. Benefits including heavy metal excretion, improved circulation, heat shock protein activation, improved cardiovascular health. So 3 to 5 sessions per week, 20 to 30 minutes each, ideally doing it with, according to the sauna protocol, with contrast therapy, which is also going to activate the lymphatic system and just like make the benefits even or a lot greater. So Once again here, one one very good pairing is to take modified citrus spectrum with the sauna because that mobilizes everything and then you have the binder to help extract everything out. That's a super super powerful combination that can help once again if needed if we need a super targeted detox protocol in place. But besides that, it's about doing all the daily inputs of course. But yeah, exercise as well. Movement stimulates lymphatic drainage, circulation, sweating. All essential for detox is super important. This is why we have the 730 rule. You know, we want to move every day. Ideally, we want to get a bit sweat going every single day. Super, super important to keep the lymphatic system and also the detox pathways active and optimized. The lymphatic system removes cellular waste, so we can support that by obviously walking, mobility work, rebounding, jumping on a trampoline, or just bouncing around on your spot, doing deep tissue massages, doing deep breathing as well. Even a 10 to 20 minutes of, uh, or walking Daily improved lymph movement. So one of the worst things here is obviously if we're— the shitty example here is having someone that's working all day sitting still on his— in front of his computer and never moving and not having the detox pathways optimized. You know, that is like a recipe for keeping all that shit trapped within you and it's gonna come with massive consequences. So movement is super, super important. Then step 9, hydration and mineral balance. Your detox system relies on fluid movement. So proper hydration supports kidney filtration, toxin elimination, circulation. So we want to add salt and mineral drops to support hydration always. This is the salt I use. And then we have the trace mineral drops and 40,000 volts, which I also put in my water bottle always. You know this if you watch the hydration protocol, which is also a very important variable. And if needed, we can do a hardcore salt flush But this should be used strategically. So if you're constipated, maybe you're doing the elimination diet and you know you get constipated or whatever, then you doing a targeted salt flush is super super important as well. How do we do this then? Well, we take one liter of water and then ash a good amount of salt, nine grams of salt. We drink that fast, and we need to be close to toilet for the next one hour because you're going to get massive diarrhea, which is exactly what we want out of this. That is going to clean and cleanse your whole colon and your whole system. And will flush your whole system. So if you're constipated and you, um, obviously if, if this is you, we're obviously talking about it, but, uh, good to, to have as a tool in the toolbox. I usually do this if I've had some bad food or not so good food and I, or I've been traveling or this and I need a proper reset, then I do a proper salt flush the morning after getting back home. So full liter, shit ton of salt, drink the whole thing. If you'd been constipated before that, it's gonna explode out. So very, very good thing to, to be aware of and, and, um, yeah, to deploy when needed as well. So if we summarize this, the daily detox protocol includes then obviously daily habits such as morning sunlight, hydration with minerals, whole food nutrition, movement and walking. So one to two solid bowel movements per day ideally, and regular sweating throughout training or sauna. That's the the key inputs we we want. And then obviously supplements includes NAC, glycine, MSM, magnesium, silica, taurine as well. Eat herbs with your food. Eat dandelion. Eat cilantro. Eat thyme. Eat all these things and do binders such as modified citrus pectin. If needed, the key principle here is that detoxification is not a one-time cleanse; it's a daily biological process. So all these things are things we have to focus on on a daily basis. Not like oh you do this one time and then it's going to be fixed. No, this is something that has to be in the back of your mind forever. You know, the goal is not extreme detox programs. The goal is to support supporting your body's natural detox system every single day so that you constantly have an optimized detoxification. System. And when detox pathways function properly, your energy will improve, your hormones will stabilize, inflammation will decrease, recovery improves. And this is exactly why detoxification is a foundational pillar of the Superhuman Protocol. It's super, super, super important that we do everything we can in order to optimize our detox pathways. So once again, a few targeted supplements, a few daily habits, and then all these other things in the back of your mind, some smart changes when it comes to home products and think of it as your system is already gonna be loaded from all the shit that, that you get exposed to. That's why it's also important to still to always be aware of your detoxification pathways because you're always going to be exposed. And then control all the things that you can to make sure that we're not, we're not overloading the systems. No microplastics, no bullshit personal care products, no bullshit cleaning products. No bullshit clothes. Eliminate all the shit. Once again, I'll put some examples under. And yeah, this is it. This is how we're maximizing the detoxification product or pathways to make sure that we constantly have a system that that takes care of all the all the bad stuff that we're getting exposed to. So once again, one of the key important things that we should be focusing on in order to maximize our health. Detoxification. That's it.
