Your Gut Will Never Heal Without This Mineral

Lucas Wilhelm Hedenbäck argues that bloating, reflux, and brain fog often stem from missing natural sea salt, not sodium itself. He recommends a daily plasma drink with 2-4 g sea salt per liter of water, gradually increased to 9 g/L, plus a morning reset of 9-12 g salt in water to restore gut function and digestion.

If you struggle with bloating, reflux, brain fog, or feeling like you're eating incredible food but somehow not getting anything back from it, there's one basic mineral almost nobody talks about that you're probably missing out on. And this is something I wish somebody had explained to me multiple years ago, because a few years ago I was spending literally thousands every month on my nutrition. The best of the best food, grass-fed meat, locally sourced organic produce, and everything was dialed in. Yet I could eat one of the healthiest meals you can think of And still look 6 months pregnant afterwards. I was bloated, my digestion was messed up, and I constantly felt thirsty despite drinking liters of water. And I couldn't understand it because I was obsessing over the quality of the food going into my body without understanding what my body actually needed to break that food down and utilize it. And one of those basic things was something I'd spent years being told to avoid and limit, and that is— Salt. And over the next few minutes, I'm going to explain why salt is one of the most important variables for your stomach acid, digestion, hydration, and nutrient utilization. And why I think the massive fear around salt has caused you to get even more unhealthy rather than healthy. So let's get into it. One of the things I got wrong for years myself was avoiding salt entirely because I told my whole life to cut sodium. It causes high blood pressure. It's bad for your kidneys and watch your intake. But here's what almost nobody explains. The salt in those warnings is refined table salt, stripped of magnesium, potassium, and trace minerals that let your body actually use and clear the sodium properly. That's not the same substance as natural unrefined sea salt. Refined salt causes problems. Real salt is what your body is built on because your blood is saltwater, your tears, your sweat, the fluid around every single cell in your body, all saltwater, sitting at almost exactly 9 grams of salt per liter. And that's not a coincidence. It's the concentration your body needs for every nerve impulse, Every heartbeat, every signal to actually fire properly. And if you don't believe me, think about what happens the second someone shows up dehydrated or in shock at a hospital. Well, they get hooked up to an IV of saline, salt water at roughly the same nine grams per liter. And nobody in the ER is worried about you know too much sodium. They're rebuilding plasma fast because that is what keeps you alive. And you're doing the same thing here, just through your gut instead of a needle. So now when we understand the importance of salt, let's break down what it actually does. Digestion starts with salt because your stomach. makes hydrochloric acid from the chloride in salt. And that acid breaks down protein, activates digestive enzymes, and sterilizes incoming food. But when stomach acid is low, protein ferments instead of digesting. And that's your bloating showing up. And reflux isn't caused by too much stomach acid. In most cases, it's actually caused by too little. So hydration protects your gut lining, and your entire digestive tract is lined with a mucus layer that's made mostly of water and electrolytes. And chronically dehydrated, that layer Thins. Gut contents make direct contact with the intestinal wall, and that's where irritation and leaky gut or permeability issues start. So electrolytes is what drives motility. The wave-like contractions that move food through your gut runs on sodium-potassium pumps. And without enough minerals, motility either stalls into constipation or turns chaotic into crampings and loose stools. Same root cause, just 2 completely different symptoms. So if plain water isn't fixing it, cutting salt isn't the answer either here. What should we do? Well, here's exactly what actually works. And it starts with understanding one thing, and that is that all salt does not do the same thing in your body. So how does this framework work then? Well, there's 3 parts to this. It's how you hydrate daily, one reset you can do periodically, and how you salt your actual food. That is 2, 3 steps here. So here's exactly how I have every single client of mine implement this. The first thing is daily plasma. We want to mix 2 to 4 grams of real unrefined sea salt per liter of filtered water to start with and sip it throughout the day. Not all at once, of course, because if you jump straight to a high concentration while you're still depleted, your body can't absorb it yet. You'll just flush it out and feel even more thirsty, not less. So build up gradually over a few weeks towards roughly 9 grams per liter. 2 to 3 liters a day, that's your blood's own concentration mirrored back to it. And when you can drink that comfortably without excessive thirst, that's how you know that your body is actually using the minerals instead of dumping them. I walk every client through their exact ramp-up phase inside my coaching program, of course, with exact details. Depends completely on how depleted you are and where you're starting from and how your life looks like. So there's a link in the description if you want that. Mapped out for you specifically. Second pillar is the morning reset. A stronger mix, 9 to 12 grams of salt in 1 liter of lukewarm water, first thing on an empty stomach. This concentration is high enough that your body treats it as a surplus to clear, pulling fluid through your intestines and triggering a full bowel movement, usually within 30 to 60 minutes. So make sure to stay very near a bathroom, otherwise this can be a bit messy. This is not for daily hydration, this is a periodic reset, so just to clean out and sort of give your system a fresh start. And this should be used therapeutic, not every single And the last pillar to this is adding salt with the meals. We want to add real salts whilst we're cooking. We don't want to just sprinkle on dry on top after a sort of finished product. We want it to be dissolved into the food. It's the same thing with the water. We want to be dissolved into the water. That is how the minerals will ionize and become fully absorbable. So salt your meat, salt your bone broth, salt your cooking water generously, salt everything. That's a completely different outcome than just shaking dry salt onto something after you've cooked it through. 2 completely different things. Get this right, and the shift will be very, very fast. You will experience less bloating, reflux calming down, and actually feeling hydrated instead of constantly thirsty. More regular digestion, steadier energy, and not because you just added another supplement, but because the fluid your body runs on finally matches what it's built to do and built to use. So this is one of the very first things I have every new client implement— salt water— because nothing else in a protocol works if your body can't digest, absorb, or hydrate properly underneath it. So if you want this mapped out once again for your exact situation, there's a link in the description to Apply for an assessment call. We'll map out your full situation, understand what your bottlenecks are, present a clear game plan, and see if the Supremium Protocol is the right fit for you. But fixing your stomach acid and fixing your salt ratio is only one part of this, because if your nervous system is keeping digestion switched on in the first place, adding more salt isn't really fixing the actual bottleneck. That's exactly what I break down in the video on screen right now, because once you understand how stress controls digestion, all of these pieces start connecting finally. So make sure to watch this one.
