Mark Roberge explains the piggyback method: collaborate with a slightly larger artist in your genre, list both as main artists on a track, and your song hits both Spotify profiles and Release Radars. You get exposed to their listeners without needing a massive following first.

One of the strategies we use to scale fan bases pretty quickly is called the piggyback method. And it's pretty simple. What it is, is you're finding artists that are similar to your sound that have a bigger audience than you, right? And their fans would ideally love you. So what you're gonna do is you're gonna collaborate with that artist, you're gonna do a feature, you're gonna get them on, we're gonna do some content, you're gonna put out that release and you're gonna make sure you both are a main artist so that it comes out on both Spotify profiles. And then you're gonna share monthly listeners, it's gonna be in each one of your Release Radar pools, and now it's gonna make a bigger splash. And now their fans are now becoming your fans. So that's the piggyback method. If you have any questions on any of this and you want help with the strategy, shoot us a DM, we could schedule a consult with you.
