When you look at my name on Google, possibly you're definitely going to see a world renowned pastor as well as a computer engineer in architecture. Hello, my name is Narayan Shuman. I'm 17 years old. I live in Jacksonville, Florida and I attend Bishop Kenny High School. I am on a Florida tax credit scholarship. I believe that this scholarship has pushed me to the point where it shows the importance of having education. Sure that you've got the opportunity. My plans at the high school are to attend Florida Memorial University and join their dual degree program where I'll be receiving a master's and bachelor's in computer engineering and also be majoring in architecture. At the age of 52, my grandmother took full custody of me and adopted me when I was two months old. That is the main reason why she is the best person in the world to me. She is the most important thing in the world person in the world to me. She could have did everything else in the world with her life and you know, left me to someone else in the family. But she saw it in her heart to raise me as her own child and as I've grown through these 17 years. That is my mother and our relationship is, I mean, it's the best it's ever been. One of the many things I want to give my mom is her own home. And I want to design her house the way she wants it. Marble floors, brick, any kind of material, anything she needs, Triple car, garage. I want to give her everything that she gave me, just like the Bible says, a hundred fold. I want to return everything that she gave me back to her. My mom wanted me to go to a private school because I believe she wanted me to receive a faith based education in a good environment. Because she has always taught me ever since I was little that number one, God should be put first throughout whatever you do, whatever decisions you make in life, God has to be put first. If God isn't in it, then it won't prosper. That's her motto. That's what she's taught me throughout life. And I believe without this scholarship I wouldn't be able to have all of these different opportunities that I have. I mean, I've made several different networking opportunities because of this scholarship. I've met people because of this scholarship. This scholarship has opened so many doors for me in life and college and throughout the rest of my life. I know that I'm going to remember this scholarship because it has changed my life for the greater good.
