How to apply for the New Worlds Reading Scholarship.

Hi and thanks for your interest in the New Worlds Reading Scholarship Program. Now that you have created your EMA or EMA account, we will demonstrate how you apply for your student's New Worlds Reading Scholarship. First, let's navigate to www.stepupforstudents.org reading. From there, please click the white login button with red text to get started. You will then be guided to a page with a navy background and the image of a child. There you will see a box that reads welcome to EMMA or ema. Please type in the username and password you created from our last video and select the red login button. Once inside your scholarship portal, please select the My Student icon from the left side of the page. In order to start and submit your online application, you will need to select the blue Add a Student button to continue. Please note that if you are intending to apply for more than one student, you will need to complete their information then return to the dashboard to submit another individual student's application. When the next page loads, please provide your student's first, middle and last name, date of birth, gender, ethnicity, and student's relationship to you. Please note that the addition of the student's FLEID number is optional. Once all fields have been completed, please select the blue Save button to continue. It is here at this point that if you wish to add another student, you will need to select the My Dashboard icon. Then select My Students. You will have the option once again to select the blue Add a Student button. Congratulations. You have added your student and you can now start the online application. Please select the Dashboard icon from the left side of your screen. From the dashboard, please select the red Apply button to get started. You will first need to select a student to apply for from the drop down menu. If your student does not appear here, please select My Student icon from the far left menu to go back and add them. Once your student name is selected, you will be asked a few questions such as their school's name and grade level. You will also need to confirm your student is presently enrolled in a Florida public school in grades kinder to fifth grade and that they have a substantial reading deficiency. You do not need to submit documents with your application. However, if you would like to upload them, such as your student's English Language Arts or ELA assessment or progress monitoring report, you can do so in the box with the up arrow and then select the blue Continue button. We have one more tab for you, the Guardian tab. You will be asked if you'd like to edit your parent or guardian contact information, please ensure there is a phone number listed and select the phone type whether it be work, mobile or home. If no changes are needed, please select the blue Continue button. Moving along, you will be asked to review your online application and confirm that all the details are accurate. Please note that once you submit your online application, you will no longer be able to edit the details. Once you review all details are accurate and complete, you will be asked to certify this and for an electronic signature, please type your name in the box and then sign with your mouse or cursor. If the signature looks good, select the Keep button. Once your signature is set and you have selected the Keep button, go ahead and click the red Submit button. Congratulations. You just successfully submitted your Student's New World Reading Scholarship Application. There will be a brief survey at the end of the application. Once you answer the survey, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard. Please keep in mind that you have the ability to apply for any other students if you have more than one at this time.
