Marc Haine and Speaker A discuss how flexibility and lifelong learning shape better leaders. Difficult experiences build empathy, and a growth mindset matters more than fixed thinking when leading others.
If you have a growth mindset, you're willing to learn. You're willing to be curious. If you're fixed, and that has nothing to do with age. So, that age really doesn't matter. What matters is, do you have a fixed mindset or growth? How much are you willing to expand?
And that right there should be the note that everybody's jotting down right now. Because I think at the root of everything that we're talking about today, it has to be our flexibility to be able to learn and continue developing ourselves, not just Believing what we believe and that's it. That's all. Because the world is not that black and white.
No, it's not. And I have to admit, sometimes I joke. I'm like, oh, I'm done with the lessons. I don't want to learn any more lessons. But you have to admit those past experiences, even if hard, even if so difficult, so challenging, is what gives us the empathy to lead. Yes. So, the more tough crap you've gone through, you're going to be a better leader for it.
