Marc Haine argues companies should treat hiring as continuous
People have different needs at different milestones. From the time that something resonates with them to the time that they come in for the interview to the time hopefully that they're so great you're going to want to onboard them. And that's why I named my keynote, Go from Onboarding to Foreverboarding. That process should never ever stop. I think it's really important that you ensure that the application process from beginning to end is smooth. It's also essential that the communication that you have is timely and transparent. I really appreciate it when they actually send out an email just to let them know that the door is closed and that they can move on. That's a cool way of acknowledging the fact that somebody special applied to you and you're treating them back with respect and with kindness as well. Candidates feel valued throughout their entire hiring journey regardless of the outcome. Your reputation will build and trust will build. I wish I could work for ABC Company. They were really great to deal with. And you know, maybe one day I'll be able to work with them. But they're telling people about it.
