Marc Haine gives new managers advice on the transition from peer to leader. He covers preparing new hires with a toolkit, supporting them after they start, and managing the shift from friendship to professional relationships. He introduces the concept of a "first team" (your leadership peers) versus your "second team" (the people you directly lead).

Your peers and your team are the chief technology officer, chief operating officer." The chief strategy, the customer services people, that leadership.
