Guy Coffey leased a house for a year in 2010 as a safety net before opening an Anytime Fitness franchise. His location became the 11th highest-performing in the U.S., and the real payoff was the freedom to attend his kids' sports events instead of working every day.
We leased the house for a year and moved there just so that we knew if it didn't go well, it wasn't because— Because you weren't there. Yeah. So, I mean, that's what it took. 2010, and now it's, I think, the number 11 Anytime Fitness in the US. So it's paid off, but it's the early stuff that people got to get. It's like, you don't go into it to buy a job. I totally get that. You do it for the freedom and the time flexibility and things like that. But in the beginning, it's nose to the grindstone for a while, and then you can step back and then hit every hockey game or baseball game or play or whatever your kids are doing.
