Leaders who want buy-in must let employees shape decisions from the start, not after they're made. When staff see their ideas actually used, cynicism drops and loyalty grows. Listening has to be real.
You can prevent cynicism and apathy. But like I said a little while ago, it all starts with listening. Yes. You have to come into the environment willing to listen and be influenced. And the more people see that you've taken their ideas and incorporated them into your own, the more you're going to have buy-in. I have leaders coming to me frequently saying, there's this change I want to make and I want staff buy-in on that change. Well, it's too late. If you want buy-in, you have to be willing to co-author it. Yes. Yeah.
