Every single human being needs to know that they matter. And so that, I think, bringing that whole idea to leadership, to recognizing that I want the people that I lead to know that they matter to me. Their hopes and dreams matter to me. The issues going on in their life matter to me. They're not just this project manager or this writer or this XYZ job title, whatever that is. I think kindness is kind of really the way we're hardwired. It's really aberrant not to be kind because that's actually our Our brains are literally— we know this from neuroscience research, recent, the fMRI and everything— that our brains are hardwired for connection and community. They're hardwired for it. My intention is to actually create a movement where people understand that kindness is actually strength, just as vulnerability is, that kindness is boundaries, kindness is clarity, kindness is empathy, all of these things that enrich our lives as human beings.
