Short spoken tutorial by stylist Kelly demonstrating how to create a sleek but voluminous low bridal bun for a client with fine, long hair. Kelly explains techniques to add volume (using a sponge), tame curl and flyaways, fill visible scalp with eyebrow powder, and clean up the nape to achieve a fuller, cleaner bridal look without extensions.
She wants to adjust. From her bridal hair preview, she wanted to add a little bit more volume around her crown area so that it didn't feel as tight back. But this is a very sleek style. So first things first is tame all that curl and add in all the extra volume. Look at that volume. We love to see it. My fine hair. Girlies underestimate what's possible with their hair. Trust me, you can do a lot more than you think. No flyaways on my watch. Even though she had fine hair because it was longer, we didn't need to use extensions to make her bun look fuller because she had so much length on the ends. Here's our rehearsal. And now he said it. When you're styling with fine hair, you want to give that illusion that it's full. So there's a couple things up my sleeve that I like to do. One is use a sponge for fullness, and the second is go around and look to see if you could see your client's scalp at any point. Right here. I could. So I took an eyebrow powder and made sure to fill in any sparse areas. Didn't think you were getting a neck trim, huh? Cleaning up the nape gives your bun a cleaner look. And she looked at it. She said, it's perfect.
