Marissa Brennan breaks down how Instagram's algorithm works for wedding businesses. She explains what makes content savable and shareable, and how to spark conversations with brides to boost your visibility.
Okay, so you want to get your content more visible in front of your ideal Bride. Let's go, Ms. Instagram Algorithm. She's not that complicated. She just favors content with engagement. You post it gets likes, comments, shares, saves. And Instagram is going to push your content out to get more views because you're getting engagement. It signals, hey, people like this post. Let me show it to more people. On the flip side, you post Nobody likes it. Ms. Ig is like, oh, I don't think I want to share this to more people. It's not that good. She doesn't really have feelings. She just goes off engagement. Okay. Savable content. What is something that your bride is going to want to come back to? Think trial photos, think product recommendations, think wedding tips. That's something she will say for shareable content. Think to yourself, what's something your bride is going to want to DM to our bridal party or share with someone? Again, probably an inspiration. Photo product recs, tips, conversational. This is what's going to get you more comments. What's something your bride needs help with that you can provide? Start doing consultations and in your comment section, you want to be the bridal pro. She's coming back to the one she sees as the ultimate expert. Remember, you're creating content for her.
