Marissa Brennan walks through her bridal hair trial process, explaining why she now books two hours instead of 45 minutes. She shares how listening to clients and building in buffer time reduces anxiety and makes them feel heard before the big day.
Let's start my bride's trial together. Trial appointments or preview appointments, whatever you decide to call them, they used to give me the most anxiety to do when I started out as a bridal hairstylist because I did have some failures where clients decided to cancel contracts after they had a trial with me. So today I want to give you a few tips of some ways that you can nail your trials and have your clients obsessing over everything afterwards. Baby Marissa used to only set aside 45 minutes for trials, and that just simply was not enough time. Older, wiser Marissa wants you to know to set aside two hours. Yes. Even if your styling is only an hour, give yourself time after the appointment so that way another client isn't walking in. And also enough time so you can get all of the tea. And make sure that your client feels heard, because if she doesn't feel heard on this appointment, girl, you're going to jail. If you ever book yourself on trial days, I'll see you in the next one where we actually style this look.
