EP 03: Biggest mistakes I've made in my Business and The Time Management Lie
24 Jul 2019 · 39 min
Podcast episode (Making of a DM, Episode 03) in which host Mark Evans DM reflects on his biggest early mistake—playing too small—and argues that conventional "time management" is misleading. He urges listeners to think and act bigger (scale businesses, hire strategically), value time efficiency over penny-saving, adopt daily habits (e.g., early rising Wakey Wakey 4:44), and pursue purpose-driven growth while sharing personal anecdotes from Coeur d'Alene and career milestones.

Welcome to the Making of a DM podcast show. One of my biggest mistakes I've made in business, in life as well. The big myth of time management. Let's get started.
I'm more Kevin Ste. I'm here to help and teach him what I know and how I did it to discover freedom. There ain't no question mark. Kevin's when he stepping the doubt, he's closing deals. Time to tell him what the DM stand. But I'm not just a deal maker, I'm a dream maker.
Hey there, it's your host, Mark Evans, dm. And thank you very much for being here. The show is so important to me to share real life information with you that will help you become a better business person, ideally a better person in general, and grow at many levels. So today's show I'm going to share with you one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my business and life in the beginning and something I had another realization when I was in Coeur d', Alene, Idaho a couple days ago. I just got back as I'm talking to you, I'm on the third floor of my office up in Cleveland, Ohio area. And I just can't stop thinking about this. So I have to share this with you because if I'm having this problem, you're having this problem, I promise. And it's something that, that all my buddies and I, we talk about constantly and it's something I'll help you grow. So I'm excited to share that with you today. Not only that, I want to talk to you about something that might be a little controversial as well. But time management is bullshit. I said it. Time management is bullshit. I'll explain more about what I mean because it's something that drove me bananas. I've bought every time management book, I've bought every time management journal, every. And I yet never became a time management expert. Truth is, I think time management people selling that shit is knows that people are looking for that magic pill and it doesn't exist. But I'll go into great detail on that and why I think that. And more importantly, I know that because I'm walking proof that it is bullshit. And I'll explain here shortly. So let me talk to you today. Well, let me do this. Before I get started, guys, I want to say thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. You guys mean so much to me and going over to itunes and you know, leaving five star reviews here for the show and all that and follow me on Instagram At Mark Evans DM and all that has been absolutely amazing. We're starting to get a lot of massive traction and just great shares and all that. So thank you guys for that. That means so much to me, seriously. So thank you. So back to the show here. One of my biggest mistakes and I just had another realization when I was in Coeur d', Alene, Idaho, like I said, is playing too small. You see, there's so many people. I'm just trying to remember back in the beginning stages 23 years ago, when I started business, I was just trying to make money, right? We all go in cycles and something, you know, point of your life, you just have to make money to pay bills. And then you start making money, and then you get wasteful for a minute, and then you realize it's not just about buying more stuff, but it's about creating opportunity and growing a business to the next level that could outlive you, et cetera. But I was playing small. I. Honestly, today, right now, as I'm talking to you, I'm playing small. Here's why I'm pissed off. You guys and I have multiple companies. We generate tens of millions of dollars a year in revenue. But the reason I'm pissed off is why am I not generating hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars a year? That's why I'm pissed. It may sound silly, and it's not like, oh, Mark, you should be thankful for what you have. Who says I'm not? First of all, right? Secondly, I just know what I'm capable of. I need to become a better version of myself every single day. And I had this talk with my CEO, a COO that runs my real estate team, company, investment company, and I'm like, dude, we're playing so small. Here's how you know when you're playing small, when you have the same problems week after week, month after month. When you're playing big, your problems are always changing. Just got off the phone with some guy today, and he's like, yeah, man, you know, I'm hitting a couple about a million and a half a year. Blah, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, dude, like, that's awesome. Why not 5 million? Why not 10 million, right? He's like, well, I want to grow slow, dude. That's the death of a business. From my experience, growing really, really slow, chugging away, that's where you start getting burnout. That's when you start getting wore out. And I've seen so many people just give up in that environment. You like us as an entrepreneur, we want to be growing aggressively. We have to be conscious and always pushing and growing. But I'm playing small. You know, my real estate company, how come it's not in 100 different areas? How come my media company isn't 10 times bigger? And I'm not saying it has to happen overnight, but these are questions that we have to start asking ourselves. And if you're. It's funny to me, people are saying, mark, I'm not playing small. Well, here's some identifiers to know if you're playing small. One, if you're hanging out online, messaging people 24 hours a day about nothing, you're not playing at all. You're just hanging out. So you're not in business, by the way, if you're doing that. So that's one piece. Secondly is if you're contacting vendors or people you do business with, trying to reduce the amount you pay them. That's playing small, by the way, because you shouldn't be thinking about how to save money like pennies to make dollars. That's never going to happen. It will never serve you, ever. And by the way, that's how I grew up, right? I grew up with way our family, like they'll drive 20 miles out of the way to save 3 cents a gallon on gasoline. And I think I'm like, what the hell is going on here? Another way is if you're buying a plane ticket and you're trying to spend three hours to save $20 by going to 17 different websites thinking you're saving money. See, you're thinking with the wrong side of the brain. You're using your old programming mechanisms that got you where you're at, but it's not going to get you to where you want to go. This is a true story, by the way. You can ask my assistant or anybody at works for me. I do not care relatively what it costs. Obviously, it's got to be within the parameters of what things are going for. But I'm more of the Nordstrom buyer than the Walmart buyer, if you will. I'm not nickeling and diming my way to the top. I'm investing my way to the top. And I'm still playing small. I still don't have what I want, where I'm going with the amount of people on my team, the amount of revenue the company's generating and the net profits and all that. I'm pissed off because I know what's available. Guys, I've met many rich people, billionaires, 100 millionaires, they're no smarter than us necessarily. Like, intellectually. They just figured out how to think bigger, do bigger. One of my great friends, Tim, you know, in the single family investment world, he was on a lot of single families, and one day he just woke up and said, what the hell am I doing? If I could do a single family, why can't I do 100 unit apartment complex? And now he has thousands of units in three years. Because it was just a mindset shift. Now different actions take you to different results. You stop talking to homeowners, you start talking to apartment complex sellers, right? So what do you want? That's what the last show was about. But this is what it really comes down to. What the fuck do you want? And until we really know that, what I'm sharing with you today might sound like, oh, dude, you're bragging, or you're blah, blah. No, actually, I'm doing the opposite. I'm pissed off because I'm not where I want to be and. And I'm not that big yet. There's so much more. As I'm sitting in Coeur d' Alene and you see this. Very much so in Palm Beach, Florida, you drive down A1A, there's houses 30 million to $150 million. And this is like their second, third, fourth, fifth home, maybe more. They're there two weeks a year, if that. And you think like, how the hell is this possible? And then let's just stop you for a second as you're thinking that, you're like, dude, no one needs $150 million. No one needs a fucking $10,000 house. We can all live in tents, right? It's just always funny because I have a Rolls Royce and I've had one for a long time. So much long, I forget I even have one. I drive it. People are waving, taking pictures, or flipping me off. I don't care either way because I'm too busy driving. But what I've realized is people come up to me and they're like, yo, man, you know you can help so many more homeless people. And I'm like, well, who says I can't help homeless people and drive this? And by the way, fucker, you're an Alexis. Sell that. Start riding a bike. Or actually, you just walk. Because then you could not spend the $37 on the bike and help the homeless. So where does it end? Where does it start? Where does it stop this thinking? So where you're at right now? Think about it. Where you're at right now, depending on your age, I'll ask you a question. A couple questions. Are you driving the same car you were driving when you were 16, 17 years old? Are you living in the same apartment or shared apartment community that you were when you moved out of your parents house? If you've moved out of your parents house, the answer is no. If you've been in life, like if you're 30 years old, all these answers are no, absolutely not. Mark, that's crazy. Why would you say that? Well, what's changed? The shitty car still there? The shitty apartment still there. What's changed? You. Your internal value has changed. Experience has allowed you to change and develop and understand your worth at the next level. You don't still work at the grocery store making $7.20 an hour, do you? That job still exists. Why aren't you there? Because you've developed. So suspend all thought processes and ask yourself what's my next level? And think about this. When you were doing working in the grocery store, driving the shitty car, hanging out in the crappy apartment, your problems were different than they are today. Your conversations and your lifestyle is probably drastically different, right? You have kids, you have responsibilities, you have actually a real job, you have a nice car, you're doing things. You're thinking about investing, you're thinking about the future, you're thinking about retirement, whatever that is. What would it look like if you made a million dollars a month? What would you be driving? What would you be doing every day? I'm talking as an owner, by the way, and I'm not saying sit out on beach and do nothing. I'm talking like what would you do? What product, what service? What would you do as a company? Would you be doing the same stupid ass shit you're doing right now? If you're trying to build a million dollar a month company as opposed to this pussyfooting around trying to make ten grand a month? Guys, this killed my success for so many years. I told you in the beginning I only wanted to make 100 grand a year. That was my dream life goal. By the way, when I was 17 years old and I told you the way I thought about it, I'll work seven days a week, I'll work 15 hours a day at $20 an hour. It's $300 a day, that's 9,000 and change a month. I will hit 100 grand a month because I'll figure it out and work an extra two hours a month or whatever the number comes out to. That's how my mind thought because that's all I was taught. That's all I knew. I was mirroring what I saw. Truth is, I didn't even know anybody had made a hundred grand. But I did see my competitive advantage is I'll work my ass off while they're hanging out at the pool. I'll work my ass off while they're out drinking beer with their buddies. I understood that simple model. They work eight, I work 16. I'm in. And as time grows, we grow. You should be growing every day. I today 23 years deep in the game and playing small. I have real shit going on too. Like real business moves, real COOs, real CFOs, real pieces moving. I want better, bigger problems. I want them, I encourage them. Problems mean we're creating, we're moving, we're growing. Most people are working not to have problems. They're creating problems, little problems like micro problems that could be solved by a $10 an hour person. I gotta call my title company. I see they're charging one 97. I can get it down the street for one 25. Who the fuck cares if you save $70? That's not going to make you millions by the way, ever. And I don't care what bullshit you read or hear. Well, Sam won't manage the pennies and the dollars come. Bullshit. I'm not saying be reckless and wasteful, but you got to look at the bigger picture. If you're getting great quality service at an affordable rate, why are you looking for shitty service at a cheaper rate? And why are you focusing on trying to save pennies when you should be out fucking hustling, making millions of dollars? That's when the game changes. See, everyone tells you what you want to hear because it makes you feel good. And then they say, pull out your credit card and run to the back. I have nothing to fucking sell you except the mindset that we need to change and shift. You are playing too small. Recently, my physical challenge. I'm pushing myself harder. I'm soft, I'm weak. I can do much better. I'm pushing myself. It's not just a matter of talking shit, it's actually doing something about it. But when I'm in Coeur d', Alene, I'm driving. I have a captain Boat guy, right? He's my captain. Tim is his name. We rented this boat. I don't want to drive it. I don't know the boat rolls like that. And plus I have my family. I don't want to relax, have a couple of drinks and just Enjoy. Yes, it costs more money. I was actually pissed because they don't rent yachts there. They only rent like 20 something footers or 32 footers or whatever it was. I liked it so much I rented it a couple days. But as I'm on the boat, I'm sitting in the front. I started getting emotional, to be honest with you. Me, my wife Dina, my son Mark, my little daughter Drea, we're cruising around four or five hours and I'm just thinking, the wind's blowing, not through my hair, through my scalp. I'm thinking, look at these houses. There's thousands of them on this lake. 500,000, 15 million, 12 million, 30 million, etc. Etc. Etc. Millions of dollars, hundreds of millions, Billions of dollars of house revenue on this lake. Why don't I own them? What does that person do different than I do? Who is it? What did they do? How did they do it? Am I the only crazy one that thinks about this shit? And as I start thinking, I literally, I swear to you, I started getting emotion. I started getting teared up so much so I actually shot my parents a text and said, hey, thank you guys. I love you so much. I appreciate everything you've done for me. Something to that effect. Because in a time of that moment, without my parents, I wouldn't be here. Right? I didn't come from a financial background, but they did love me. They did do the best they could do. But I look at that as an opportunity for me to do better so I can do better for them. It's my fucking obligation, by the way, if I know that conversation even exists, to step up to that opportunity. Because it is an opportunity. Some look at it as maybe as an obstacle, but are you trying to feed yourself? Are you trying to feed the village? Are you trying to feed the world? Different actions for each one of these segments. If you're just trying to feed yourself, it's pretty fucking easy. Make 10 grand a month. Do your thing. Easy. Guys, to make ten grand a month is so, so, so, so easy. Ultra super duper easy. But don't do that because it's not needed. You need to make more. You need to be thinking about more. You're gonna make ten grand no matter what. Why not focus on getting building a real business, building a real path, building a real structure that allows you to make millions of hundreds of millions of dollars. But as I'm getting emotional there I was thinking, I'm like, dude, like, it's my duty. I know I've been chosen to do More. I don't know how to explain it, but it is real. If you're listening to this show, I bet you're probably the same type of person I am. You take responsibility for everything, accountable for all good and bad. You've been chosen, you've been tapped on the shoulder. Now what you do with that tap is up to you. There's a lot of people I know that have it. They just don't do anything with it. Oh, that's for the other type of people, not me. Oh, dude, I'm just too busy. Why are you at the fucking bar? It's 3pm what do you mean you're too busy? It's something that I wish someone like me was telling you right now, what I'm telling you. Playing small. So small. And I have a lot of cool shit going on, like I said, but nothing actually is really going on for where I'm going. Nothing. It's my biggest mistakes in my business and personal. See, I'm 41 now. Depending on your age, you might be a youngster listening or someone older than me or someone near my age. Dude, I feel like I'm still that 18 year old kid. My bones don't feel like it sometimes, but mentally, emotionally, I kind of am that kid. Obviously we, you know, progress a little bit, but like, I want to be young, I want to be vibrant, I want to be healthy, I want to be happy. And the big awakening for me is like, I. When you think you're going to live forever, your actions are different. I know I'm going to die. FYI, heads up, you're going to fucking die too. I don't know when, but we're all going to die. It's the only way out. Let's hope it's longer than normal, but who knows? But I was playing with my son, he's three and a half and I'm like fat, trying to chase him. And I'm like huffing and puffing and like, dude, I'm better than this. I'm better than this and I'm responsible for this. I'm fat, I need to do something about it. So I started creating like daily habits of going to the gym, working out, eating better, right? You start doing little things. You don't change everything overnight. And my goal here on this podcast show is not to change your mind overnight, but to give you a pivotal moment that allows you, aha, that's it. And then start working and tinkering on it and developing the muscle. And again, back to what I'm Saying playing too small. I remember this is like 2004 or 5 somewhere around there. 4ish, I think. I went to a $36 million house in Florida. It was a charity event. I invested money to go to charity donation, I should say, which is an, you know, investing into that charity, which is awesome. And I swear on my life, a small town Ohio boy, I had white polo pants on and a pink shirt with a white kangal. True story. This is before pink was even cool, by the way. I got off the bus that they shipped you over in and I stepped foot on this grass, my life changed instantly. I was like, oh, shit, people. This is actually a real house. This is like real money. I met the buyer, he was there and I looked at him like, this guy's no smarter than me. He's older than me, but no smarter than me. And I just started having that conversation. My business changed at that point a lot because it's aha moment. More importantly, I did something with the aha moment. I immediately went back home and started working differently. I started working on different things to create bigger results. See, if you're sitting there talking about how to get cheaper leads, if you're sitting around trying to figure out how to get a cheaper or free system to run your company that you're trying to make millions on, that you're never going to make a fucking dime to one, because that's not how it works. You got to be focused on doing the work and activity that matters to, to get you to what you want. If you want. Listen, if you want 100k life, I'm 1. I'm not your guy to listen to because I'm not thinking about. I'm thinking 100k days, minimum. Minimum. You need to be thinking bigger. You need to be doing bigger. Not just thinking, but actually doing the activities to get bigger results. If you're trying to get big muscles, you don't go jazzercising. You go to the gym and fucking do curls until you're about to puke. Your brain's out. Right? I'm getting a little over the top there, but that's kind of like my mentality, how I talk to myself when I see the shit I see as I'm sitting there getting emotional in that boat. I can do more. I can be more. Here's the real question. Who do I need to become to get really what I want? Let me say it again. Who do I need to become to really get what I want? See, let's be honest, when I was 20 years old. I just wanted to fucking make a lot of money and hang out and do nothing. I thought all you did is make money. Go to the club, spend it, go back out, make it again, be cool, everyone wants to be you and everyone's high fiving, et cetera. Listen, I'm not saying not to do it once in a while because that was fun as a kid, but I don't care to do that ever again because that's not where my priorities or focus is at in any way, shape or form. I like to get up early, I like to do my strategies in the morning. I'd like to do my stuff in the morning, get it out of the way and then focus on building a businesses today alone. True story. I'm looking to buy three companies for growth. I'm going to shut down 90% of each one of those companies, but keep a piece of them 10% or so to grow other companies and grow that company. I have different knowledge, I know how to do it. Not saying that's what you should do. I'm just sharing. Like that's going on right now. And I'm still playing small. I'm asking myself, this company's two and a half million, why am I not buying the $25 million one? Why am I not buying the $250 million one? Think about that. Bezos. Buying $25 billion companies and more, et cetera, Coca Cola, all these companies are buying billions and billions of dollars. Anheuser Busch, whatever. Why can't that be us? Who do I need to get on my team to help me become that better person? And I'll talk about that in later shows. But the who to do the how, as Dan Sullivan would say. Which brings me to another topic. This time management shit. It's all bullshit mostly. I've literally, I'm not joking. I've literally bought every time management book. Especially back in the day. I don't do it anymore. But back in the day I bought all the time management stuff. I need more time. Do you listen? What do you need more time to do? Maybe you need to be more efficient. Maybe you don't need more time. Because again, what I shared earlier, you spent three hours booking a fucking travel trip from Ohio to Florida and spending. Instead of spending 500, you figured out for three hours how to spend $473, book the fucking ticket and move on with your day. Boom. Three hours of your life just received. Boom. Just like that, guys. See, I'm you. Come here. You're going to get time Back, guys. Don't act like you don't do it. I used to do the same stupid shit. You're on Amazon or ebay, you find something for a hundred dollars and you search for hours for something for $89 hours. You don't value time. You're a talker, by the way. If you do that and you say you value time, time is the only thing I can't get back, okay? So that's why you're dicking around and wasting it every day. If you look, I forget where I was at, but I was on an interview or something and like, oh, yeah, I was on stage actually with my buddy Timmy. Had me up on a stage here, 150 people or whatever talking about time. And just like money and whatever. When you get a bill from a restaurant, what do you do? What do you do? This may sound petty, but it's not. But what do you do? Most people open up the check, pull out their glasses and go down line by line. I didn't order this 17 cent thing. I didn't add extra cheese, whatever. Then they grab it, they gotta go back, redo it, come back, it's still wrong. And. Or it's never wrong. Here's what I do. I give my fucking card. I don't want to see the bill. I don't care to see the bill. It's never changed in my entire life. If I look at it, it's the same. If I don't look at it, it's the same. Let's say if I haven't looked at it in the last 20 year, 10 years at least, for sure. In 10 years, back before, when I looked at it, I might have noticed a Coke, extra Coke on my bill for $1.79, that I said, hey, I didn't order that. And they took it off and I saved $1.79. Guys, this is how I think about time. It's not time management, it's time efficiency. I'm a slow reader, so my time efficiency, how to read fast. I don't fucking want to read fast. I want to consume and understand what I'm reading. And it's not about running the sprint. It's about interpreting the data that I'm collecting into my brain. I don't want to just say, Yo, I read 100 books today. I want to say, yo, man, I just learned one amazing thing today, it's a different thing. So if the guy that sold me or the gal that sold me the book on time management is saying, speed, read to do X, Y and Z. And their agenda is different than my agenda. It's already misaligned. Therefore, their time management shit's bullshit to me. And because I'm not looking to do what they do back to the last show. Know what the fuck you want. See, there's so much misalignment conversational that's going on in our brain to reality. This is what I want. So why are you doing this then? Right, guys? Don't. You don't have to believe me. Look around. Most of the world's fat. I want to lose weight. Why are we talking over beer, eating Doritos or French fries or whatever and you're looking to lose weight. You're not aligned with your actions. Your reality is you. You're going to continue to be fat and or unhealthy by doing the activities that you're doing, but yet you can say until you're blue in the face, I want to lose weight. I'm going to start Monday. How's that working out? Time management is a very, very loose situation term. It's so loose. For example, I have a thing called Wakey Wakey444. When you follow me on Instagram, pretty much seven days a week, I do a thing called Wakey Wakey 4:44. Around 4:44 in the morning. Because that's when I usually get up most often, actually, and I share a quick power quote for the day or a thought. And when I do that, I'm up and I'm moving. That doesn't mean that's what you need to do. I go to bed around 10 or 11 every night. I get up early. I've been doing that for years. I used to hear my dad turn on the faucet and I'd jump out of bed like I was getting up before him. And I was at like 4 or 5 every morning. As a child, it was programmed in me. I don't like being a night owl. It's not fun to me. I like the feeling of getting up early, feeling like I'm getting ahead of the world and just being on top of my game. The truth is it's for anxiety purposes. When I'm on the west coast, which I just was in Idaho, I felt like I would wake up at 4am and still be behind the eight ball because it's 7am on the east Coast. That's a true story. That's me. So if I wrote a time management book saying, this is the way it is. This is how you do X, Y and Z and you try to mold into that and you're a night out. Your life is on the reverse. You're going to feel like you're a fucking loser because you're not doing what I do. Guys don't do that. Know what you want. I'm not saying you can't learn from that. But maybe you go to bed just a touch early. Maybe you get inspired to wake up a tad earlier, right? There's a lot of things there. But, like, what do you want is going to guide you on this time management piece? This is the magician versus the mule. I'll talk about that on the next episode because it's a very big piece. But, like, guys, for me, with where I'm at, if you're trying to do what I do, you have to hire a lot of people. You have to spend a lot of money every day, every week, every month to get what I have. And that's not where everyone's starting. So what we need to do is start where you're at. It is what it is. And we need to start figuring out where our efficiency factors are, when you're the most effective, where you're falling short, and how we can improve. Who do I need to become to get what I want? Right? And if you want to become a successful business owner, leader, and own a company that's growing, you're not hanging out the bar every night. You're not getting wasted and can't wake up the next morning. You're not doing that because your purpose is bigger than the process. FOMO goes out the window. If my buddies call me now and say, yo, I'm hanging out at the bar, it's the best time ever. You're not going to believe it. Blah, blah, blah. Cool, man. Have a great night. I gotta go. Back in the day when my purpose was let go, hang out, I felt I had fomo. I was scared. I was like, I'm gonna miss out on the best time in the world. No, what I'm going to miss out is on nothing except a hangover. I'm going to have a hangover all the next day, right? So get a bigger purpose about the thinking big thing and looping this in on time management. Have you ever, like, seen these young kids, like the Zuckerbergs, the Jenners, and all these guys, like, billionaires before they're 30? How is that possible? You ever think about, like, how is this possible? What's different with them than me? What does their day look like compared to my day? I think about this shit all the time not only think about, I'm involved, I'm around it. So I'm like, wow, they're very effective here. Wow, they're good here. Oh man, I don't want to do that. But that makes sense to me. I get it. See, me being bigger, my mindset with my time management. I don't go to an office. It's not where I excel. It's not what I'm good at. I'm more of a disruptor and an opportunity guy. I go in and I start throwing around big ideas, start distracting the team and that gets them flustered and messes them up. That's truth. So I can work from afar. I can work and still make. I can actually have a bigger and better impact because I know where I'm the best at, where I'm the most productive for my time management. But when I'm building something big, I'm not thinking, how do I build an office with me in it where I'm hanging out 17 hours a day, getting there before everyone, leaving there after everyone? There's different ways to lead. There's different ways to be big. There's different ways to make an impact of what you're trying to accomplish. There's no right or wrong way. Anybody that ever tells you this is the only way to do something, that's the only way they know and they're not wrong is they're right. But that's not what. There's so many ways, if you will, to skin the cat. But what do you want? And as I'm sitting here with this time management thing, I hear, yo man, how do I get time management, dude? I'm so busy, I just don't you waste so much time on bullshit stuff that will never mean anything. I'm researching. No, you're not. You're wasting time. What are you researching on? How many times and how many ways do you have to research on the same shit to get what you're trying to get? It's not that difficult, right? I'm more thinking of how do I hire, who do I hire to get me the results. I don't want to know all the answers. See, that's the difference with time management too. Most people are trying to go find all the answers. I'm trying to call the guy with the answers or the galaxy. I don't need to spend 13 hours to find one answer. I can make a 13 minute call and find the biggest answer, maybe even a question I didn't even know existed, to find even a bigger, bigger Bigger answer and opportunity. And that's what network's about. That's what masterminds are about. That's what these groups are about that you hang out with. You know, they say, what, what is it? You're, you're associated, you're. You're the direct correlation of the top five people you hang out with the most. If you're hanging out with a bunch of dipshits, it's not going to end well for you. I know. I used to be it. I was the king of the dipshits. That's going to be another good show because that's real. And guys, I'm only bringing real shit here and I hope you guys are getting a lot of value out of this. I've only went, this is my only, my third show here at the Making of a dm. And I'm telling you what I'm going to bring here is for you, it's real life shit that I've went through and. Or I'm going through. And I'm going to share real stuff that might hurt people's feelings. And I'm not here to hurt your feelings. I'm here to help you. I'm here to give you the tools to be equipped for success in the future. I'm going to push you, I'm going to prod you. My best mentors are the people that pushed my buttons the hardest. They're the ones that, like, pushed me to, like, be bigger, be better, be smarter, be more focused on the activity at hand. Focus is a whole nother term we'll talk about later as well. But, like, there's so much going on here and I want this show to be a compound effect. Every show you have to listen to, you have to get to know who I am and what I stand for more and more each day and figure out what you like and what you don't like. It's cool. You're not. You shouldn't like everything I like. That's fine. But I promise you, I'm coming from a place of realness. I'm giving you the tools that will help you be successful, to make an amazing life and revenue, because that's what you're going after, I hope in business. And profit, I should say net profit, that is. So I want to share some pics of some of the houses and boat rides. Like I said, I shared over in Coeur d' Alene and I've been doing that on Instagram. So if you don't follow me on Instagram, you need to do so asap. Markevans dm. And make sure you let me know when you get over there. You're like, yo, man, I'm following you from your podcast show. Just shoot me a quick message, DM message or whatever, let me know you're engaged and over there. And I want to drive real shit. I want to share with you real life, behind the scenes stuff. I do a wakey wakey 4:44 every morning. Typically I do three to five stories a day, kind of talking to you. Talk from the walk, tip from the whip or whatever, quick talk, you know, all this stuff because I want to kind of take you inside behind the scenes and see what it really looks like to build something. And guys, one of the most things I'm proud of the most is my family. So to me, it's not just about making money. It's about how I make it, who I make it with and who I get to share it with. It's one of the best feelings in the world to be able to do cool for charities and family and all this stuff that we're working hard for. But I can tell you this, I do know this for a fact. We make making money way harder than it really is. I know I do, and I have for many years. But the older I get, the more wiser I get, I should say, the more I realize money is just a tool. Money is just. I'm not going to say it doesn't mean anything, but it really is not what I'm chasing. I'm chasing things that I can help people grow and do things. And ultimately, if that's through real estate or a media company or a supplement, whatever it is, we get results. And results equal revenue. The more results I get, the more revenue we make. Go figure. I'm not trying to take from the marketplace. I'm trying to add value to it. And when you come with these mindsets and more importantly, these action steps to get that, you start gaining traction, you start making revenue. And I'm not going to say every day is easy because that's a lie. If it's easy every day, you're not doing nearly enough. And easy is all relative, by the way. So make sure to follow me over there on Instagram. I'd love to share some, like, cool things that we're doing. Seeing the real life pictures again, you hear me behind the mic. But what you don't see is the visual images side of things and what's going on. Seeing my progress, I'm trying to run a mile in under eight minutes, which is crazy because that I should be able to do that but I can't yet. I'm close 8 minutes and 23 seconds. But follow me on the journey. Follow me on the path. I'd love for you to be there on this journey with me on the other side as well. So guys, with that said, hope you have an amazing day. Keep me posted and thank you for listening to the making of the dm. Have a great day.
