Welcome to the making of a dm. Making money with what you have, it's time to hunker down and get serious. This show goes into great detail of how to get started and get making that money. So with that said, let's get started.
I'm here to help and teach him what I know and how I did it to discover freedom.
There ain't no question mark.
Kevin's when he step in the doubt, he's closing deals.
Time to tell him what the DM stand for.
I'm a deal maker, a deal maker. But I'm not just a deal maker. I'm a dream maker.
Hey there, it's your boy, Mark Evans, dm. Another beautiful day of the making of a DM here in Parkland, Florida. As we get ready to head out back to Ohio for a while.
Got to another couple, two, three weeks, but a lot going on over here.
Appreciate you being here. We got the big event coming June 29th and June 30th.
I actually have something for everybody that's here today, listening to the podcast show. I'm going to hook you up, I'm going to save you a lot of money. It's only for a short time and I want to do it because you're a loyal listener. If you're brand new here, you're in luck as well. But we are going to have an epic 350 people fly from all over the country, all over the world actually coming to the DM event, Diem Birthday Bash where we're going to come together. These are high profile, high level guys and gals sharing business insight information with you to show you how to grow your business, expand your market, sell your business, how to connect with great people, how to get access to money for your company, for growth and everything in between. We got a lot of amazing people that's going to be speaking. These are not your typical go to fucking seminars and be sold in the back of the room. It has nothing to do with that. This is a charity event. Actually every year, if you don't know, I like to do a birthday bash. My birthday's on June 19th and I like to raise a lot of money for charity. And last year we raised over $500,000 in 30 minutes. It was, if you were there, you know exactly what happened. It was absolutely spectacular, amazing. It was and life changing for everybody in that room and beyond, for the children that will impact through Operation Underground Project with Tim Ballard and them. So we're bringing them back this year. You know, the goal is to Raise at least that much, if not way more. And the way we do that is very unique. And when you show up, you're going to see it, because we will end the 30th with the most epic birthday bash party you've ever seen. This costs more money than most people's wedding. I'm not saying not to brag, but that's the truth. That's what it does. It's a very big investment, but I do it for many reasons. To connect with people, to show them what's possible, and to raise a bunch of money for charity. So it's going to be amazing for everybody that's here and new. The way the show gets heard is.
By you guys sharing it.
You know, we send out an email once a week.
We.
We post on social media. I respect and appreciate everyone that listens to this show, that shares this show. And if you have friends, especially on this show, it's going to be amazing. I'll tell you what the link is right now, www.dmlive2023.com but I want to be clear. This is not for everybody. This is for people that want to learn and grow, people that want to push and get to the next level, people that want, you know, this event is about just connecting with amazing human beings, doing amazing things. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. Truthfully, I'm not saying that to be silly, but it's been pretty amazing and I'm excited for it and I'm excited to meet you if you're able to make it. But please share this show. Tag me at Mark Evans DM again, Mark Evans dm. And I'll give you some love. I'll share it as well, and we'll get the party started.
But I want to talk today about.
Something that's very important, about making money with what you have.
You how to make money with what you have today, with where you're at. See, I see so many people sitting.
Around, like, last week's show was huge. You know, talking about the death ground strategy and all this shit. Your back's against the wall. You don't know what the fuck to do.
But yet you do it. You execute because you don't have time to think. Too many people are thinking, to think, to overthink, to overthink, to keep thinking about fucking overthinking.
It's disgusting to say the least.
I want to just break this down to the simplest of the simplest shit. I know how because I care. And I want you to succeed. I want you to get the money so you can get the money to build the business, to build the business to make you more money, to be able to live the life you want, to do the things you want to do, to help your parents, your grandparents, to help your health, to help your kids, to help your future and just live abundantly. But we're all starting with where we're starting at. So don't think that you have to be me. Where I'm at fucking 20, almost 28 years in the game of business, you might be two years deep looking at me like, dude, you're in fucking chapter two. I'm in chapter 28. And the truth is, if you fucking listen to what I'm here to say, and if you listen to all the past shows and you show up to these events and you connect with great human beings, my goal is by year 10, you're fucking a thousand percent further than with where I'm at today in 28 years. That's what I want to do. I want to implant and share with you and help you. But I can't do it for you. And most importantly, I can't do it. If you never take action. You got to take relentless action. It's going to require getting up earlier. It's going to require going to bed later. It's going to require doing the fucking work.
Now, listen, not everybody is a psycho entrepreneur like me. We just closed on another company last week. Got a lot more in the pipeline. Closing on a lot of stuff, building.
A lot of things, have a lot.
Of team members, a lot of amazing.
People, a lot of team members. I've never met in person.
That's always wild to me.
But I want you to get. This is like the simplest approach to getting to where you want to go. I don't care if you want to get to a million a year. I don't care if you want to get to 10 million a year. I don't care if you want to be a billionaire. This is the only way this will ever be possible. I want you to take stock. I want you to, right now, listen into my voice.
If you're on the treadmill, if you're.
Driving in the car, if you're.
You're not taking a long walk, whatever you're doing, whatever you're listening to my voice, I want you to.
Whenever you get back and you get in front of a pen and paper, I want you to sit down and I want you to take stock. I want you to write down your assets.
I know what you're thinking, well, Mark, I live with my parents, Mark, I'm in an apartment, I don't have any assets yet. That's where you're wrong, my friend. You have lots of assets.
And I just want to give some.
Ideas of assets here that I'm talking about.
Maybe you have time because you don't.
Have a job or you're not working that many hours.
Maybe you have a technical skill. Maybe you're great at building a website. Maybe you're good at connecting technology with funnels. Maybe you're a great graphic artist. These are assets, by the way. Maybe you're an amazing organizer. If you looked at my office right now, I need a fucking organizer over here stat. For real, right?
I need shit organized.
I'm busy. My brain's thinking about growth, not organization. Like my stuff around my desk, there's a huge need for that in my garage, in my closet, in your pantry. I mean there's professional organizers, I know that's created million dollar plus year businesses. Tech funnel, building high ticket sales. Maybe you're very comfortable talking to someone on the phone and converting a prospect into a customer or a client. But you don't have a product to sell, you don't have a product to fulfill, so you seek someone out.
Don't hit me up, by the way.
But you seek someone out like me. You're like, dude, you have a huge following. You've been in the game forever. You have a $50,000 a year group, you have a thousand dollar a month group. I can sell that for you and I'll take 20% of all sales. You generate the lead. You hand me off the lead. I know what you talk about, I know what you think. I know how you roll. I know you provide insane value, dollar for exchange value. It's insane. I want to sell that shit and I can sell it. There's guys that make hundreds of thousands.
Of dollars a month doing that, if not millions.
You gotta find the person that you can serve. Go find someone like me that doesn't have a team and say, dude, you're crushing it, let me sell your shit for you and let's make a lot of money and help a lot of people.
It's a big business.
Maybe you're great at numbers. That is accounting.
People I know like me, know high level numbers. I've talked about this, only I've never in my personal life or business life.
Ever, for me personally, I've never done checks and balances. Like I have, you know, teams that do this. But I've personally never done about, like.
I don't do that with my bank account.
I'm like, plus or minus a hundred.
Thousand, plus or minus a million.
Back in the beginning, it was plus or minus a hundred bucks, right? I always knew where I was at within $100 range. I'm talking. Maybe you're the person that's down to the fucking penny and beyond. You know, things at such a granular level, you could assist someone like me and say, hey, based off of your trend, this is what I'm seeing. I have teams that do this, by the way. But you could find someone. I didn't have this years ago. I didn't understand. I didn't even know it was a thing. So you go to networking events and meet people, and they're talking about their challenges. Like, hey, motherfucker, I can do that. That's easy for me. Let's work together, right? Maybe you're great at designing. Right now I'm paying a guy 5, 6, $7,000. I don't even know because I don't care to take a 3D image. Take my office that we just are recreating, and hey, we're tearing all these walls out. We're going to do all this stuff. I want to see a 3D virtual, like, look and feel of how it's going to look before I pay $300,000 to redo it. So I pay this guy, say, five to seven grand.
Amazing guy.
His name is Dan, by the way. And if you ever need any 3D imaging. I did this with my basement.
I did this with my house.
I do it all the time on stuff. It's a hack. It's a way so everyone's on the same page. Like, literally. You can virtually, literally see down to the way the floors look, the paint looks, the windows, the lighting, the desk, the placement, the flow for five, seven, ten grand. And then you're like, ah, I don't like the way that marble looks. Well, that's a $12,000 mistake, potentially, that I just missed.
You know, the collars don't go well together, etc.
So maybe you're great at that. Help people. I. I pay people to whiteboard for me. Should. I had this lady in Atlanta. She used to sit down with me and her. She'd sit at the board and I. I would throw my ideas out and she'd whiteboard, and she could put it into a structure, and then we would, like, clean it up, and then she would formulate it, and then we'd send it off to the teams, so they like, hey, the accounting team, this heads up. Hey, Design department, hey, hey, marketing department, hey, Deployment, like, hey, it's fulfillment. Everyone knew what was going on. Basically, I'd sit there and just hire her. Yeah, it sounds fucking lazy, but sometimes it's what it is. It's not lazy. It's like my ideas are happening so fast. She's good at articulating it and putting it in a visual representation. And she's. That's what she's good at. She gets paid to do it. You can make a half million a year doing that. Not only that, you get to hang out with fucking cool people. You get to hear insight, like how people's brains think, and you get to help them make their plan and vision better. It's a win, win, win, win, win, win for everybody. Maybe you're great at construction, right? I saw him with my buddy yesterday. He built a 63,000 square foot, beautiful, beautiful class A plus plus plus office building, you know, tens of millions of dollars in it, rented out for market height. Like he broke every record in the country for per square foot for rental. And I was talking to him because I'm looking at building some of that stuff.
I'm like, dude, his name's Rich.
I'm like, rich, I want, I need. Like, this is amazing. He's like, yeah, here's how I do it. Here's what I do, here's who I hire, here's how it works. Maybe you're great at assisting other people. Maybe you're that caretaker. You love helping people. I have two assistants, Aaron and Kim. Amazing people. Kim's been with me the longest. Aaron's been around for a while as well, in different capacities and companies. But they're just great human beings that love helping people.
And most importantly, can work with a.
Fucking psycho like me. True story. I got a million things going on, but I feel like I have nothing going on. But yet they're overwhelmed. And sometimes I'm overwhelmed all the time. And yet we still get shit done. Things break. It's part of the process. But at the end of the day.
Great humans always do great things, period.
And they make good money doing it. And they have a life and they get to see cool things, they get.
To meet cool with clients, they get to do these neat things in life.
Maybe you're amazing at writing.
I have a buddy that is good at writing. He's actually good at working with business.
Owners, articulating their brains, putting a book into a format and then getting the book to market.
The guy's made millions of dollars, actually millions plus per year by simply doing that. So he gets to hear, he gets to help me get my words. He's actually done all my, like last three books I've done. And it's kind of like a ghostwriter, if you will. But I'm just talking one part of writing. Maybe you write content on a blog, maybe you write, maybe you're, you know, maybe you're a copywriter where you're creating sales letters. I've paid upwards to $25,000 for sales letters. Just one sales letter on a webpage.
And an 8,5 to 8% royalty on top of it. You know, maybe you're great at writing autoresponder sequences, right? Recapture the customer, re engage customers, re engage prospects. Connect people, you know, like do things like write. And then you need that tech guy.
Or gal, because you got to plug them into the autoresponder. You got to plug them in on social, you got to plug them in.
On tax, whatever, whatever platform, right? Social media management. You know, I pay people upwards of $5,000 a month to run one channel in a social media environment. Depending where you're watching this, if it's on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, this is one of the people I pay. They pay, they take an hour video, they chop it up in chunks and then they deploy and then we get a lot of views, a lot of eyeballs. Some people say, f you.
Hey, you, Joe Rogan looking motherfucker.
F you, you, you're scared. Like, whatever they say or, dude, I love your content. Keep sharing whatever they say and. But it gets eyeballs. Eyeballs is currency. Currency drives them to the next step, right? This is the opportunity where we're at today in this beautiful world we live in, your phone is your media channel. You can literally create video, text, writing. It's endless, right? Voice memos.
Maybe you're an amazing dad, maybe you're.
An amazing mom, Maybe you're an amazing person that you've went through crazy fucking trauma and you've gotten yourself out of.
It and you've got a better life because of it.
Maybe you're an ex drug addict. As you guys know, I have a buddy, his name's Eric, he was a massive heroin addict.
He had the youngest drug charges at 10 years old.
And now he sold his company for over $100 million. He's crushing life.
He's growing businesses, multiple.
He has the jets, the yachts, the teams. He's an amazing hustler, He's a great.
Dude, but he wasn't always an amazing great dude.
We all have a past, but our past doesn't dictate our future. We must understand that we have value to ourselves and to others. Right? Maybe you're the best lawn care fucking guy in the world. Or gal, you cut the best, straightest lines in the world. I had a house in Ohio and.
Everyone, all my neighbors thought I was crazy. People would literally drive by, stop fill my grass, thinking it was fake. If you guys have been following me on social media for years, you saw.
This, and I would pay about $5,000 a month to maintain this golf course grass. This is high quality bluegrass.
Bermuda, Georgian grass. I don't remember what it was, but it was amazing. I had it mowed twice a week. You have to worry about malt mold on it, you know, like there's so many.
It's very, very fidgety grass and it could die in a second.
Especially in Ohio weather. It's not like Florida, right? It's not normal where we live. But I love a beautiful lawn. I love beautiful lines and edges.
I'm not price shopping.
I want what I want, period.
So don't a lot of people listening to my voice right now. Yeah, but who's going to pay for it? Stop the fucking madness. You're worried about something that doesn't even matter. Because you have a money problem doesn't mean the person you could serve does. And I think this is where a lot of people get messed up.
I was talking with my buddy Chris and Kevin. They're blue collar millionaires, great dudes.
And they did an amazing podcast show recently and I was listening to them.
It's a 15 minute show once a day.
It's awesome.
If anybody's in the blue collar world.
They should be on that show. It's brand new.
They're young, hungry in the space. When I say young, young in the game, young in the podcast world, and they're going to crush it, absolutely murder it. But what I want to be clear.
With is they're talking about. And I know this to be true.
Because when I used to do seamless gutters and I used to do siding, I used to do windows, I used to do garage doors, I used to.
Buy these companies, package them up.
Because I'm like, dude, if I'm fucking fixing a garage door, they probably need gutters. If they need gutters, they might need windows.
If they need windows, they might need siding, they might need soffits, they might.
Need roofing, they might need concrete work.
They might need Hardscaping. They might need the H vac. They might need plumbing. So I'd buy these low. I didn't even know what I was doing. This is when I was 18, 19, and 20 years old, by the way. So I want to be clear, though, is a lot of you are trying to make a million dollars hanging out with fucking $10 people. And when I say $10 people, I'm talking about their mindset. They're more intrigued about fixing the problem by spending 30 hours on it, as opposed to paying $100. So you're hanging out at the 100 to $300,000 house range, wondering why you can't make tens of hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions of dollars a year. It's because you'd have to do so many little jobs to accomplish that. I would love to see you get to the commercial level, where you go to one project and you make fucking 400 grand net in one project, as opposed to going to 3,000 houses, getting 325 deals at 10 grand a deal. That's a lot of work to do. It's a lot of selling, a lot of managing, a lot of bookkeeping, if you even do that, and a lot of following up to get paid your money. And the problem is you can't get paid to get your. You can't follow up to get paid to get your money because you're too fucking busy. And I know because I did this for years. I was great at making money, terrible at collecting it. So I know exactly what the fuck I'm talking about. I've been there. I get it. That's why we need a team, right? Right now. It's never been easier. This is back in 1996, by the.
Way, when I was doing this shit.
But this is why you need a team. I can go online now. I can go to upwork. I can go online and type in the fucking fancy world, Google.
Ask Google.
Like, you know, fractional CPA, fractional bookkeeper. Hired an out, like, you might spend 150, 200 bucks a month to solve your problem. It's that easy. It really is. But you got to do the work. You got to go to Google. You got to fucking type it in. You got to have a conversation. You got to tell them, like, yo, my shit's fucked up. Can you help me? Be real. Because if you don't tell them the truth, they can't help you, right? I'm not saying you're not gonna kiss.
A couple frogs to get to this, but it's a process, but it's worth it.
But take stock of your assets. These are assets, right? You know, maybe you're a great master networker. I saw recently this guy came out with a fucking book. I can't even believe it. The Two Hour Cocktail Party. How to Network Professionally or whatever. All he does is show people how to manage and run a two hour cocktail party. He's generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue. He sold 15,000 copies of the book within the first several months. Two hour cocktail party. Maybe you're great at hosting fucking parties. People are like, dude, when are you having another party? They're amazing. They're epic. You might want to have ring, ring, ring. Maybe there's something there. Maybe you're a great coordinate and then go bigger. Go to the charity balls, go to the clubhouses and say, we need to do community parties. I'm willing to plan these parties to show you how to get engagement. Engagement creates stickiness. Stickiness creates people paying more money for food at the club. They pay more money at the kids center for the kids staying there because the families want to hang out and drink and have cocktails by the pool, whatever. These are amazing things every single person listening to my voice can do. Not only that, depending what business you're in, you have buyers. These buyers aren't just people, just the number.
Oh, invoice number 7254.
These are human beings with problems. If they. If, let's say if you do landscaping, your landscaper is at your house once or twice a week. If you're a landscaper, you're at the house once or twice a week. Have you ever been mowing the lawn and look up and you see their screen hanging? Have you ever been mowing and see fucking shingles flipped over on the backside of the house that they never go out back, they're always out front.
None of that. These are hard working families you're working for.
They're never home, they're always at work. So they don't even know that they have a potential issue on the backside of their house. Have you ever been mowing a lawn and realize that they have an issue with the irrigation, they have an issue with mold, they have an issue with these worms that kill your grass. Have you ever presented them an opportunity to solve the problem before it becomes a real problem? Maybe you're driving around on the lawn, maybe you're weed whacking around their H vac unit and you see it's clogged off, you see that they haven't sprayed the the coil and it's getting clogged off. And then what happens? It suffocates the system and burns it up. Have you ever thought about saying, hey, I know Steve Johnson H Vac company. You should call them out here, they have an amazing maintenance program. If not, this could be a 5, $10,000 issue for you very soon. I'm looking out for you, Bill. I got your back, buddy. I know I'm just your fucking lawn care guy, but I'm way more than a lawn care guy, homie.
I'm an observer. I'm a business owner, I'm an opportunist.
I'm an investor, I'm a dad.
I'm a homeowner just like you.
If I'm a homeowner and you see that and you tell me I would never get, who's going to get mad? You can make money by helping people. They're going to fucking pay for it anyways. Why wouldn't you be the value add service person that said, yo, you got an issue, make their life easier. How?
Hey, call Steve Johnson H Vac. Hey, call this worm company. They'll fix your grass before it becomes a problem.
It's endless. Maybe you see a couple wiggly trees out back. Hey, just a heads up, man, I.
Know you got kids running around here. There's two trees I see very problematic, called Jeff's Tree Service, dude. If not the last thing you'd want is this to be an issue falling on your house. Dealing with insurance companies. Maybe it falls on your house and it's in your kids bedroom and they fucking get killed because you weren't proactive. Because you're too afraid to make a fucking offer to your prospect, your clients.
Do you really care about your business? Do you really care about serving your clients? You got to get your head out of the sand and quit thinking you're.
Just who you think you are. You're so much more than that.
I'm using this landscaper as an example because you're seeing everything.
Hey, man, you know I come up the driveway. I work 17 jobs around here. Your driveway. You know, I got a great guy that can clean your driveway for you.
You don't have to tell them it looks like shit. They already know it and they could say no, that's okay. They're going to say no, deal with it. It's fucking.
You're just sharing.
You're presenting, right? Hey, tree service. No, fuck you just mow my lawn.
If they say that, by the way, you should fire them.
They're not going to say that. But what's going to happen is you're becoming valuable. Dude, I pay a guy high five figures, if not low six figures a year to. To run one of my houses. He just does landscaping. I just got a bill for $1,800. 16. I. I don't remember 16. $1600 just for the first mow. To pick up branches and mow the.
Lawn and clean up a little bit.
He's never once said, yo, dude, check this out. This tree serve. Hey, man, you know I got this done. Hey, man, I think you should do this. Hey, this is what's going on. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Never. I'm not knocking him. He's just never presented anything to me because he thinks he's just a landscaper, I'm guessing.
Because if not, why wouldn't you hook me up? Why wouldn't you say, yo, man, I.
See there's a lot of water over here, man.
You're. You know, it looks like a couple of your sprinkler heads are broken.
I got your back.
Let me know if you want me to initiate it. I'll hook you up with whoever this is what I'm talking about.
This is what you could do in any. I don't care what business.
I'm having a car built right now.
True story.
I'm having a H1 Alpha being built. I should be receiving it soon. Can't wait to share it with you guys on video. But this has been being built for the last six months, I think, right? He sends me pictures. He sends me stuff. Well, dude, I tell you what, if he sends me another picture of another car that I like, I might even buy that, too.
He's never done that yet.
Hopefully he's listening to my show because he might make some money. My watch buddies, my boy Brian, my jet buddy Adam.
Dude, they hit me up. Yo, man, here's the deal. Hey, man, thinking about flying up to your Cleveland?
Actually, my boy in South Florida's flying.
Up to my event in a jet.
He owns a jet company, brokerage.
He's flying up.
He's like, you have any boys in.
The South Florida area? Maybe we could roll up together. He's thinking, smart. Value add, value creation. Yo, it's your boys. They could be my boy. If they're rolling with you, Evans, they might roll with me in the future. It's not like I got to sell you now. Money comes and goes, dude. Right? But if I can put him on the jet, fly them up there, they might pay A little piece or nothing. I don't know how it'll work yet because it's irrelevant. But they're going to get on jet, they're going to communicate. They're going to connect for two and a half hours each way. They're going to have high quality conversations and a high quality pool of people. This is where how you make money. If you want to make millions, hang out with fucking millionaires. If you want to make tens of thousands of dollars, hang out with tens of thousands of dollars. Like that's just how it works. It's the nature of the beast. Some of you are going to fight this, but this is the only simplest way I know how to get out of the hole. Take stock of your assets. You have a lot of shit in your garage. You have a lot of shit in your closet. You have a lot of shit in your whatever. Clean it up, put it on Marketplace. Sell this shit. Start transacting. Start conversating. Start communing. Community network connect.
Just locally at my place, they're redoing a bridge and everyone's pissed off because it's not going to be as nice as they want it. So we all met up. There's about 30 of us and we're sitting in the room. We all have money. You have to have money to live in this fucking complex.
And they're worried about 300 grand across a hundred people. It's three grand. It's nothing. Fuck the taxes or that. A month for the house. And if you can't afford three grand extra to make something nice in your community, why the fuck are you even living in that community? Right? And everyone agreed. I said this.
I said this verbally, by the way. I'm like, yo, like what?
Like, we're here because we have money. We want to solve the problem. See, some people like to talk about.
The fucking problem without a solution.
Tell me the problem, give me the solution, and let's fucking execute relentlessly until we accomplish the goal. That's what winners do, period. There's a lot of bitching, moaning and complaining in this process. Just get the job done. No one cares how hard it is. No one cares if it's easy. No one cares what your problem. Like no one cares your kid doesn't like you. No one cares that your wife's yelling at you. No one cares. Stop making excuses. Yeah, but you know, I was online, I saw I could work in four hours a week and make a million dollars. Motherfucker, you ain't going to make it four hours. Get the Work, make some money today, gain the confidence, get into action. Action creates breeds confidence. Confidence breeds success. More success, more money. You start learning about your value at a different level. Higher level, higher level. You're already done it. You don't even know you've done it. I always talk about this. I'll be 45 this year.
I know, it's insane. Look at his face.
I'll be 45 this year. You're probably whatever age you are. You remember that first job you had? You're making six bucks an hour. I was doing making six bucks an hour doing fucking insulation as a 16 year old kid. I'm massively allergic to insulation. My uncle's like, oh, you want to do it? Yes. Not like, man, can I get 650? Can I just. You, man. I'm gonna go hang out with my friends. I'll get my mom and dad to give me money. You're a pussy. I'm in. It doesn't matter. See, you think it's about the money. Today, it's about the money. And then where I'm going, I'm gaining confidence. I'm working through the tough shit. Dude, I'm talking.
I was. I mean, you're in the ceiling of a church, commercial steel church, putting huge.
Insulation, and you're tore up.
I loved it because I knew it wasn't forever.
It was a temporary situation for a massive opportunity to prove my worth to myself first and foremost, but also to.
My uncle, also to the other people working there. Like this little motherfucker's working.
Break time. Fuck you guys.
Give me a water.
I'm good. You can ask anybody that knew me.
From 96 to 2001. I didn't take lunches. We're on job sites, we're working, we're rehabbing houses, we're building teams, we're growing. Lunch is for pussies. Dude, I got work to do.
Yeah, man, but I'm hungry.
Go find another fucking job then.
I ain't your guy. Go find another job. I got up two, three hours before you. I fucking. I had to be here. I had to sell the job. I have to collect the job. I'm working with you side by side and you're telling me you're fucking hungry? You're tired, Bitch, get your shit out of here. If you don't like that, I don't care. See, that's the difference is you guys are trying to be friends. I'm trying to fucking succeed. Not trying.
I'm fucking succeeding. I want you to succeed.
But there's too much pussyfooting going on. There's too much negotiating with yourself and other people. Well, yeah, but if I work four hours, I'll make $24. And $24 ain't really going to do anything. It ain't about the $24. It's about you putting yourself in action, you gaining confidence. Who's in that room watching you? Because everyone's watching. Last night we were on a walk.
Me, Dean and the kids, about 7:45 at night. This lady's over here, she's got her dog.
She's like, spit it out, Spit it out.
You could tell if something's going on. We're across the street. Several people walk by. They don't even acknowledge her.
I'm like, hey, you need help?
She's like, yes, please. The dog's foaming at the mouth. They think she swallowed a frog. Getting sick. You know, whatever.
So we stay there for about 10, 15 minutes.
We're helping.
Got water in the hand. I'm fucking trying to help. I'm not a fucking veterinarian.
I don't know what's going on, but.
I'm there to help.
I'm observant.
The other people walk past, this lady's not fucking. They don't care. They're too stuck. They got their head so far up their ass, they don't even care about anybody but themselves. Don't be that person, don't be that landscaper that doesn't tell your client that.
They need help with the trees, that.
They need help with the H vac, that they need help with the pond. They need help with this. They need, like, be a valuable resource to people. You'll always be in demand. Always. You don't need to take my advice. You don't fix the fucking hv. I don't care. Because here's what's going to happen. You're not going to take my advice to the homeowner. I already know what's going to happen. I told them. They're not going to take my advice.
I didn't get rejected. I just shared something.
And then three months later, they're gonna.
Call me up like, I should have fucking listened to you. That was a $7,000 mistake.
I'm not trying to be right. I'm trying to serve. I'm trying to help. I'm aware of what's going on.
And when you do this, you're truly.
Going to change your game. The financial situation. You'll be of service to your clients. You'll be of service to Yourself.
Hey Steve, I was as we walking around your garage and I noticed you had that car, you know, your son's 16 year old son's car, he just got. I noticed the back left tire is a little low. I got a compressor if you need it. But just so you know, like it's low.
It's not about making money, it's about serving. It's about paying attention to what's going on. Right. When you do these things, it creates a massive stickiness to people.
It lets them know that you care. You're on social media, by the way. You're on social media, I'm on social media. Pretty much every fucking buddy's on social media in some way, shape or form somewhere.
And if the husband's not, the wife is. If the wife's not, the husband is. If the wife and husband's not their fucking kids or their grandkids or their cousins or uncle, someone is. And why I'm sharing that with you is because they share stuff.
They share life, moments.
Don't you think it'd be pretty cool actually.
This just happened to me recently. I was sitting at Dunkin Donuts on Sunday morning a couple days ago, waiting for a couple drinks for my kids because we're getting ready to hop on the jet, head back to Florida. So I want to get them donuts, I want to get them juiced up with sugar. So they're on the jet, doing cartwheels, sitting there, waiting. I'm in the rolls, guy pulls up beside me. Mark Evans. Hey, what's up, buddy? I listen to your podcast show, man. By the way, thank you for listening because I hope you're listening here. And that's why I do these shows, to connect with people, to let them know, like the thought, like he owns a dent company. The guy introduced him to me. Ryan cleans my cars. Actually, Ryan was just at my house yesterday, plugging in my cars, doing extra.
Over the top stuff.
I don't even know if we pay him. Kim probably does. I don't take care of any of that. But like an amazing dude, I invite him to my house, I invite him to my party. I just want.
He's a young man.
Him and his girlfriend showed up for the first time to clean my car. I was like, dude, I love that he's hustling, he's fucking working. I respect it. True entrepreneurs respect that. Could I get it done for less? For sure.
Could I pay more?
Absolutely. But I want to give this kid money because I know he's going places. He's definitely got a circle of influence, and I appreciate that. I respect it. But he's aware he's sharing with his buddies. So, Ryan, if you listen. Thank you. And the man I want to say Dan the dent guy, but I may be wrong. I can't remember the name. I remember the truck he was driving, the green and black, you know, spotted truck for dent repair and all that. But, like, I just want you to know is you're on social. They're on social. They're sharing. When you see a life moment. One guy in our DM alliance recently got a really bad motorcycle wreck motocross, and we sent him a gift basket. Get well. I don't have to. My team doesn't have to. We're aware of our environment. What if someone sends you a gift today? When's the last time you post a life moment? I lost five pounds. And someone sends you a $25 juice card or healthy something, whatever. What if someone says, hey, my dog died, and someone sent you a flower and said, hey, let's just talk about my buddy Mike. Unfortunately, send him sympathy flowers. See, you're all worried about the money, of what you're not getting, what you don't got. Well, motherfucker, I'll tell you right now, if you're listening to my voice, you got a lot. You got a lot to give. Your kids are watching you. Your spouse is watching you. Your friends are watching you. I don't need. Like, let them know, like, yo, man, I'm building. I'm growing. I'm pushing. When you start doing this, you start elevating people.
You elevate your awareness.
You're going to elevate their awareness.
You lead by example.
You lead in the front line.
It's very, very powerful. I've never, ever, ever in my entire.
Life had someone say, evan, stop sending me gifts when I post something online.
It's too nice. Dude, stop doing it.
I don't like it. I've never had that problem. Write him a letter. If you don't have money, write them a letter. If you don't want to write a letter, grab your phone and shoot a video. Like, dude, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I just want to let you know I'm praying about you and the fam. I know the dog's, like, the best friend. I know. It's like your. Your. Your first child.
I get it.
I'm a dog lover myself. I just want to say I appreciate you. I love you, buddy. If you need a thing, hit me up why can't you do something simple like this?
That's an asset.
Awareness is an asset. Awareness with implementation and action is an asset. They're posting on social media 24 7. Back in the day, in 96, dude.
I had to fucking.
I had to go to networking events. I had to meet people I like. Dude, you hear about Steve Johnson's dog?
It just died. What? That was like his best friend. Dude, 14 years.
I'd go straight to the office. We didn't have 1-800 flowers and I had to go to the office. I'd have to find, pull out the yellow pages and find out who the flower shop is or the whatever is nearby. And then I'd call them and then I'd be like, do you have. Yeah, I'll come in. Because they wouldn't take credit card over the phone. They didn't have websites back then like that. So I had to stop and go over there.
Took an hour to do what takes 12 seconds.
Now see, the thing is, I'm not worried about the work. And too many people are trying to figure out how to hack the work to get a result.
I get it.
I wrote a book about this shit called Magician versus Mule. But dude, most of you aren't even fucking mules. You're slaves to the system. You're not a mule. Mules fucking work mules grind.
They dig, they drive.
That's why my mom was a mule in the company that she worked at. Because hundreds of employees, there's only a handful of real mules. Everyone else, just fucking slaves to the system. They show.
Hey, Steve, let's do just enough to get by.
My mom just worked her ass off. My dad did the same thing. You know, they keep giving you more work, more work. Hey, hey, Susan, stop. Quit. Okay? Sandy's got it. That's my mom. Hey, you know, you know, Nancy just quit. Okay, let's give it to Sandy. She'll take care of it. She's doing three, four, five people's jobs. She's a mule. Most of you ain't fucking doing one job. This is a wake up call. This is a reality check. Everybody listen to my voice right now. Could be better human beings and make more money with the assets you already have. You don't need to acquire anything new. You just have to become more aware and you have to take action on your awareness. You have to start serving your prospects and your clients that you're working with already. You don't need to create a new marketing funnel. Serve the people you already have, connect with the people that are doing business, if you follow me and anybody else. Don't fucking blow me up, by the way.
I have people.
I. I would never get mad if you message me. It's not that. It's just I might not respond quickly.
Because I got a lot going on. I got a lot of messages coming in.
But I can tell you this. Connect with people, build relationships. Your next. Like, I was talking with Mark. I was on a walk with him. I'm like, mark, you understand, buddy. He's almost 8 in August. I'm like, dude, you like, I love this shit. I'm like, do you know your best friend is a stranger right now?
Do you know.
The person you're going to marry is a stranger right now?
Do you know pretty much anything you.
Touch in life at this point is a stranger? Might just a handful of people, you know. I was like, mark, you know, mommy was a stranger to me at one time in life. Me and Dean have been together almost 18 years now. She was a stranger 18 years ago to me. And I built relationship. It's a relationship. I have relationships with customers. Not sexual, but relationships. You know, very attentive relationships. What cigars do they smoke? What do they drink? What are they into? What do they like? What do they want? Oh, they bought a house. Their first house, their second house. They had a kid. Oh, my gosh.
Their pet passed, their aunt passed, their.
Cousin passed, their brother passed, their mom passed. Heavens forbid. All this shit, right?
But it's happened. It's called life.
And right now more than ever, if you're aware and you actually do something about your awareness, it's very powerful. See, I was. We bought. Bought something recently and a guy took a video in front of it. He's like, dude, it's looking amazing. He didn't have to do that, but that showed me that he's thinking about me. By the way, he's a realtor. Great dude. A realtor doing what most realtors don't do.
Think.
I'm telling you right now, there's opportunities galore. I don't care if it makes you a dollar an hour or a million dollars. Just get the fucking job done. Just do the work. The rewards will come through the action. It's not about efficiencies. It's about effectiveness right now. Pivot, profit, grow, drive. This is the shit you're going to see. This is the stuff you're going to experience. June 29th and 30th in Cleveland, Ohio. Or for that matter, if you're listening after it for any of my events, anything I talk. I'm a relationship driven maniac. That's why I call it relationship capital. I've made so many deposits, so many, and will continue to do so until I die. Relationships will drive you to another level. I want you to be peer pressured in a good way. I want you to see what's possible by hanging out with people doing what used to be called the impossible. It's now or never. So make today.
Step in the doubt.
He's closing deals.
Time to tell him what the DM stand for.
I'm a deal maker. A deal maker. But I'm not just a deal maker. I'm a dream maker. The journey's where it's at.
It's all about the process.
Time to get over to the DM project from a small town in Ohio so I know how it is. Can I come from a lot of money. I remember as a kid wanted to make a honey bread. Didn't see no one make more than that. Graduated high school with a 1.8 but they should have held me back.
I hope my principals and teachers are alive just to witness this.
I'm my own boss. I'm out here running two way figure businesses.
I can walk away from it all and I'll be good. But I've been called to help people just like y' all learn the game.
It's time to ball everybody chasing the money. But I'm not chasing the money. I'm out here chasing the purpose.
Yo, I've been working my whole life.
What got us where we at? Is it gonna get us where we want to go? It's time to push? Time to learn, time to grow? I'm more Kevin? I'm here to helping teach him what I what I know and how I did it to discover freedom?
There ain't no question Mark Evans? When he stepping the doubt?
He's closing deals?
Time to tell him what the DM stand for?
I'm a deal maker, A deal maker? But I'm not just a deal maker? I'm a dream maker? The journey's where it's at? Come to get over to the DM Project?
