Hello, my name is Mark Simmerson from Boostly and this is five simple tips that you can do right now to boost your Trip Advisor ranking. Number one is it's all about the quality of the review. So Anybody knows the TripAdvisor algorithm knows that they care about the quality of the review. So not just one word, not just two words, make sure it is a paragraph. And also the person leaving a review, is it a one time review? Do they leave a lot of reviews? Are they a guide in a local area? Those are all that matters. Now you can't control the person who is leaving a review, but you can try and make sure that when they are going to post a review or your guest, ask them to put a paragraph. You know, again, if we explain it to them and the benefits of it, it will benefit you in the long run. The number of reviews. Now it may be that you've got a thousand reviews and the person who's above you in the ranking has only 100, but it comes back to point one. Make sure it's quality reviews. So it's not just the quantity, but it's also the quality. If you've got a thousand reviews all of a decent size by decent people, then you're gonna go a lot higher up those ranking recent reviews. So if your Last review was three months ago, TripAdvisor are obviously going to downscale you compared to the person above you is getting five reviews on a weekly basis. Ask, okay? If you don't ask, you don't receive. Make sure that when guests are leaving the property, you mention to them to leave a review on TripAdvisor. You can send an email once they leave which will remind them to leave a review on TripAdvisor. And you can also give them an incentive as well. Now incentives are a big talking point in the world of hospitality. How do you incentivise someone to leave a review without being fully frowned upon by the TripAdvisor gods and the bosses? Very simple. When you ask for an email, make sure you put in there please leave US review on TripAdvisor, good or bad. And for everybody that does, we will put you into a prize draw to win. Free. Nice day in 2000. Whatever. Or it may be. Leave a review on TripAdvisor and you get X percent off your next day when you book with us directly. So you can incentivize to leave people reviews, but you can't just say leave us a good review and we'll give you this because that will get you in trouble. But if you don't incentivize, how are people meant to act? It's very easy to get the five stars, it's very easy to get the one stars. It's the two threes and fours and we really need you. You need to give them a push to go. Finally, the final, final one is provide an excellent service. I've always said you cannot polish a turd. If you're getting eight reviews out of every 10 saying, this could be better, guess what? That could be better. Whether it's the water, whether it's the bedding, whether it's a certain member of staff, whether it's your receptionist, whether it's X, Y or Z. If you've got 10 reviews, nine are excellent and one person didn't like the weather, then there's nothing you can do about that. Push aside that number one. But like I said, if you've got 10 reviews and eight of them saying, listen, you got to sort this, sort that before you do any of that, that ranking will not go anywhere. All right? I hope this video has helped. If you've got any questions, please comment below or send me an email to markoostle.co.uk.
