The hidden dangers you need to know about and how to protect your property immediately. So what exactly is Airbnb Services? It's part of Airbnb's push to enhance the guest experience. Guests can now book add ons directly in the app during their stay. You gotta think. Facials, yoga sessions, private chefs. You name it. Sounds premium, right? But here's what they didn't tell you. These services enabled by default on your listings. You don't get to vet who enters your property. You don't get paid. You're financially responsible if anything goes wrong. Imagine a massage therapist knocks over an expensive item. Or worst, something goes wrong and the guest complains. Your ratings could tank. Airbnb hands are cleans. Yours, not so much. So let's be clear. This is more than a feature, it's a power shift. Here's why it matters. Number one, you didn't opt in, but you're in. Airbnb made this automatic. No notification, no approval. You're enrolled unless you manually opt out. Also, the zero revenue share Airbnb profits. The service provider gets paid, you get nothing. Airbnb say providers are vetted, but won't say how. So if somebody's injured, they don't take responsibility. You do. Your reputation is at risk. A bad massage, a bad mood equals a bad review. And that review goes on your listing, not the providers. This isn't about helping you. It's about Airbnb tightening control over the guest experience and making them more money. So here's how you can take back control. Number one message. Airbnb support. Hi, I want to opt out of all Airbnb services for my listings. I do not give permission for third party providers to operate within my properties. And finally, update your house rules. Add this line to every listing for safety and guest comfort. Third party services booked through external platforms are not permitted unless pre approved in writing by the host. This gives you a paper trail to show Airbnb you're taking action. Finally, you've got to alert your team. If you have co hosts, VA's, cleaners, loop them in. Make sure that they know what to watch out for if an outside service shows up. You need to know immediately. Let's answer the question. I'm seeing from host right now in Facebook groups and Reddit forums around the Internet. Number one, can you still offer my own services to guests? Yes. This doesn't stop you from upselling. As long as you're in control. Can guests really book services without telling me? Yes, unless you opt out. It's automatic. What if a service goes wrong and the guest complains?
