Speaker reflects on professionalization of the short-term rental industry, contrasting informal past experiences (in-person key handovers, unclear house rules) with modern, more structured stays that include pre-arrival PDF guides, smart lock access, and device instructions.
Yeah, I think widely the short term rental industry is becoming more professionalized. I think when I think back to staying in an Airbnb eight years ago, you turn up and some guy would come running down the road and like, hand you the keys and you'd like, text you, like, here are some house rules, but, like, they'd be a bit confusing and you check in and then like, it was all a bit of a. Kind of a weird experience or strange experience. And now you. The last Airbnb I went to, I booked it. I had like a PDF guide arrived by email before I turned up. Here's the access for the Smart Control, here's the access for the Chromecast, and it's a much more professionalized experience.
