Airbnb's Unfair Listing Suspension: Lost Revenue and No Communication with Guests

Yeah, I was like, I actually don't have any contacts at Airbnb, and a guest reported bedbugs at my property. And what was really frustrating is that they weren't bedbugs. It was a beetle or something like that. But Airbnb sort of being, like, the fiduciary to the guest, believe them and didn't really give us the opportunity to, like, clear our word. And so they basically shut down our listing for six weeks. And that amounted to, like, thousands and thousands of dollars of lost revenue. But there are some people that do rely on the income from Airbnb. And if Airbnb comes in and shuts down your account, it can be real scary. I mean, there's moment there where it was particularly scary. I got shut down randomly for another time, no particular reason. And we had guests who were trying to communicate with us, and we had no way of communicating with them. And so that really just kind of opened my eyes to, like, I love Airbnb. I really do. It's very clear that I do. I mean, watch the channel. But at the end of the day, you know, I got to protect my business. Right. Sort of came this idea of, like, I should diversify a little bit, and I should consider direct bookings, and I should consider, instead of giving 99% of my business to Airbnb.
