We invested a lot of money into the glamping business and set up the website and got everything ready and I was waiting for the bookings to come in and I got precisely none, which was obviously a big concern. I then spoke to some people who had forwarded some grant money to me through Scarborough and Coventry University. Then he put me in touch with Mark Simpson, who runs the Boostley Academy.
Some of the information coming from him is just inspiring and I decided to join the Boostly community just because I would just like to learn more. The area that we have always struggled with is media and marketing and I just feel like I can learn a lot from Mark.
Before Boosting, my struggle was that I was purely relying on booking.com, which meant that I don't get to control who gets to see my ad. Now, my biggest takeaway from the Boostly training is that I've learned about Google Analytics and Google AdWords. I can now monitor the traffic of my audience and also I can offer discounts on my website instead of paying commission plus vat.
I can't wait to do the rest of his training. He's very knowledgeable and helpful and if I can achieve such efficiencies with just sort of 5% of his training, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the rest can do for our business.
The name of the game is you want more bookings. I have gained more bookings in the year thanks to Mark's training. I can go back and revisit the training at any time that I want and the training is delivered in a clear, sharp, short way that suits me.
What I like best about it is, A, I can pay monthly, B, I can leave at any time, and C, I can pick and choose what I want to learn, when I want to learn it in small steps, little bites, I can stop and go back to it. There's no time limit. It's mine there whenever I need it.
I think the biggest support with the Boostly training is the fact that Mark is on hand. He's there to help. Doesn't matter what time of day it is, you can leave messages, anything, and he gets back to you. And it's the support that he gives has been the biggest thing for me, alongside all the training, knowing someone's there to help you when you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. It's just been an absolute godsend.
From being totally tied up to Sykes Country Cottages and their extortionate commission rates, I have now taken the plunge, given them my notice. So from Christmas, I'M totally alone. Except I'm not. I've got a mark up my back.
So for me, it's an investment worth investing in.
