Mark Simpson argues that guests book through Airbnb and Booking.com because they trust those platforms. IPRAC, a global certification company, offers hosts a way to win direct bookings by guaranteeing to rehome guests at equivalent properties if the original accommodation falls through.
The reason why the OTAs are so powerful is because of trust. The reason why you all book on there and you all say, I'm staying on Airbnb is that when you go and stay with Airbnb, VRBooking.com you trust that on the other end there's going to be a place to stay. One of the biggest things you will need to do to convince the your guest to book direct is the trust. How will you separate yourself from every other scammer out there? And so there's a company, iprac. IPRAC is the world's leading certification and trust company in the world. And the cool thing about this is that when you join Iprac for your business, for the guest trust, and if they make a booking with you and if they rock up to your property and your property isn't there, they will re home you with a similar property for the same value. That's their trust. That's their guarantee.
