Short excerpt from a YouTube video by Mark Simpson ("Business Success Secrets: Hire Smart Delegate and Focus on Growth", uploaded Sep 8, 2023). The speaker gives practical advice on hiring and delegation: hire for a specific role, ensure you have a teachable process for tasks before hiring, and remove tasks from your plate by delegating them.
So be realistic with your expectations and hire someone for a specific role. And hopefully that role is something you know how to do that you can teach someone else to do. And that's what I always tell people. Like, you know, you're ready to hire someone if you have a process in your business that you can teach someone else to do, whether you're doing it or not. Because maybe you don't have time to do it. Doesn't really matter as long as you could teach someone to do it. Get that thing off of your plate. Get it done for you. So those are probably two. I mean, I could go on and on.
