I'm seeing this a lot with my family business and some of the clients that I'm looking after, especially with the family business, because I'm noticing this quite a lot, especially with website bookings, is that we are getting a lot of Brexit bookings. So what are Brexit bookings? It's people that are waiting to see what happens with this whole Brexit. So this is very much a UK centric live video. So I really apologize if you're in France or if you're in Asia or America or Australia or mainland Europe. If you're in the uk, then this could be one to pay attention to. Oh, wow, there's a lot of you coming in. Ruth, Mark, Sam, Ben, Amanda, Liz, Nicola. How are we all doing? So when you jump onto this, just comment below and just say hi. Let us know the name of your business, let us know how you're being effective with Brexit booking. So I'm seeing these post loads in the hospitality community, I'm seeing these post loads in the Boostly academy. For those of you who don't know, I'm in Bali. Hello. It's currently 5:36 in the morning. Before you go, christ, that's early. Just know I'm an early bird. I work, get it pretty early, get my work all done by nine, 9:30. And then Laura and the boys and I, we go and explore a bit on this island. So I've got five tips, five things that everybody can do to take advantage of these Brexit bookings. So what is a Brexit booking? It's people that are holding off their European stay because they're worried about the state of what the politicians are getting up to, because it changes on like a daily basis and people are waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. And it's getting to a point now people are just fed up and going, you know what, we need a holiday, you know, we've got money put aside for a staycation or a vacation, let's just go somewhere in the uk. So how can you take advantage of this? I'm going to give you Five tips and I've written them down. It's been on my mind now for about a week since I've been seeing so many posts, people talking about it and I want to share them with you and anybody who's watching live. If you can just do me a favor, put your hands up if you want to help when I give a point. If you just type it out. So the first one is website. So if someone can put number one website, so what can you do on your website to turn lookers into bookers? Well, first of all you've got to make it bookable. So if you have a blog. Hi Julie. Hi Pauline. So someone can just write number one website if you have a blog. I would be putting together a blog right now and call it something along the lines of solve the Brexit madness. Let's book a staycation and talking about that. So make have a blog written about it and drive people back to your booking page. If you've never written a blog before, now is a person time to do so. If you need help writing a blog, you know there's loads of advice on the Internet on how to do so. If you're part of the boostly academy, there is a tactic and a tip right now in there on how to write the perfect blog to get traffic to your website. Number two, with your website I would be looking at getting a pop up. So a pop up that comes up on the screen when somebody's on your website for more than 10 to 15 seconds and I would simply have the wording on there. Sod Brexit or don't worry about Brexit. Have a staycation and put a 10% Brexit discount on your booking engine and get people to click into free to book Avivo whoever you're with and get them to book with you again, turn lookers into bookers. Craig, Alice and Sarah. How we doing Jenny? So when you come in, just say hi, let me know where you're watching from in the world, let me know the name of your property and let me know how you're being affected by these Brexit bookings. Second tip is Google Ads. So if someone can write in number one for me website, whoever Sarah or Alison or anybody. Number two, Craig, put Google Ads. Now there's going to be lots and lots and lots of people running Google searches right now. There's going to be lots of people looking for a staycation or somewhere to see day. So if you're going to try and run a Google Ad for hotels in York it's pretty much nigh and impossible that you're going to get seen because A the cost per click is going to go through the roof and B there's going to be so many other people trying to get that attention. So what you should look to do instead is focus on a long tail keyword and if you don't know what that means, instead of having hotels in York, have family friendly accommodation in York or it could be properties in York with parking. That's a longer tail version. You're going to get less traffic but because of that the cost per click is going to be a lot less and you're going to get the right traffic to your site. Gail High Booger Brexit. Exactly. So thank you Julie for website number two, Google Ads. So focus on the long tail keywords and if you don't know how to set any of that up, go into the learning section of the hospitality community. There's a free video and a free bit of training for everybody on how to do setup Google Ads and how to do bid on brand which is so important everybody should be doing it. Number two, if you're in a boostly academy and you want to know about long tail keywords, go to there. Jenny I don't know how to create pop ups Jenny if you want Some, my advice, Sumo.com is free and it can create pop ups for you. It's all built in. If you've got a website designer ask them or what you could always do is you could just have a little look at Google and find out how the easiest, simplest way I use it sumo.com jenny so if you want to, I'll write that in for you. Now before I forget, I was going to say I'll do it later but there we go. All right, so someone puts Google Ads for the second one. For the second tip number three, utilize Facebook social media platform people are going on here every single day, utilize it. So on your Facebook business page run a post with, you know, focusing on book direct, you know, bugger Brexit as Gehl's has said, you know, book a staycation. So don't panic, book a staycation, you can have a beautiful stay and focus on your unique selling points. So again it could be if you're family friendly, focus on that. If you're a farm state property, focus on that. You know, sell the experience of why someone should come and visit your town, your area and not worry about the whole Brexit situation. Also as well focus on groups, focus on Facebook groups. There's loads and loads and loads and loads and loads of groups around all different niches. Pet friendly, Pet friendly groups. You've got disabled accommodation groups, you've got loads of Facebook groups. So go post in there, like set an alarm on your phone, 10:00am, 11:00am every day. Just go and post in one group and have a Google sheet or a Microsoft Excel sheet with loads of different groups that are around your niche. Click on it and just go and post in once a day. It takes five, 10 minutes. Just do a copy and paste job, make it, make it applicable to the type of audience you want to attract and then have a link to your website or where they can comment on you and get to get more information. Facebook groups are fantastic free tool. The first ever website that I built was for a lady called Jane Halliman and I was creating a website for somebody who had 100% bookings for the whole of 2018. And she did it all via Facebook groups. It was phenomenal. It was like, I'm trying to get a calendar all set up and it's like there's no availability. But she did so because she needed a website where people can go and interact and whatnot. So fantastic. Hello, Sarah. Hello, Lisa. Hello, David. So as you're tuning in, we're just talking about five little tips that everybody can do right now. Number one, someone put down website number. Number two is Google. Number three is Facebook and Facebook groups. Number four, and this is a bit of a left field shout, is press or take advantage of local press, local media. So someone can write down local press, local media. This is the tactic and the tip that has been on my mind for a while now. So pay close attention to this for the people that are watching in. And if anybody can just put number four for local press. So what you're going to do is local journalists and journalists want content, okay. And they struggle all the time trying to find decent things to write about. So if you can call up, if you've got a contact in the local press, phenomenal. You know, it makes life a lot easier. But call up the local news desk. If you're in a small town, you know that, let's say Whitby, for example, where you, you know, it's a smaller news, there's some smaller news team, you can call them up and just say, Brexit has affected my bookings and this town's economy because of X. And you can have a piece go out in the, in the press with your name, your property on it when in a sort of in an indirect push and promote. But it's talking about, talking about Brexit. Now what this does is one or two things. You can go down the route of saying bookings are flying in because of breakfast or it is Brexit means that we have got availability. And you never know who is going to read that article in the paper or on the website or in a tweet or whatever. Somebody in your local town or your local area might have family coming in for the summer. They might have, you know, someone coming in on work related business. It could be just they've got friends and families to that are away and they're coming in and are looking for a place to stay. And by having your picture, your property name on the press at front of mind, then you never know, they might just. You've got literally a text conversation or Facebook conversation saying, hey, we're going to come visit you. So Brexit, we're going to come visit you. If you've got accommodation, I can't fit you in. But as a B and B others, a cottage obviously, whatever this down the road, it's just in the paper saying it's got accommodation. Now a big tip with local press is that. And I found this, and this has been passed down to me by a couple of journalists that I, that I know and I chat to, is that if you want a guaranteed way of getting in the paper, if you want an editorial, you gotta actually pay some money. It's pay to play. Local media need your advertising spend. So what I would do is if you want to go down this tactic is maybe go to them and say, listen, we want to put some in the paper, we want to do like a little piece around the Brexit. I'm more than happy to pay for a little spot in the classified section or somewhere in the paper. Just a one off, but you basically got to pay to play. Now what I would be looking to do in the actual advert would be not appealing to local people. It would be along the lines of title, real, stand out, get the colors right. Do you know anyone? So do you know anyone that's coming to insert. Let's say we're talking about Scarborough. Do you know anyone coming to Scarborough for a wedding function event that they need accommodation? Call, put your number and 10% off for anybody who books direct. That way you do one of two things. Again, you're not going to sell or book a room to the local people reading it, but I guarantee that they know somebody that's coming into town. It may Be another local bed and breakfast owner. Or it could be a local property owner in the area who is fully booked and they get a phone call the next day saying, can we book accommodation for Easter holidays? You've got any last minute? No, but I've just seen in the paper that this place has got availability. Give them a call. There's so many different ways by just being in front of mine can work and benefit for you. So that's the local press idea. Same sort of way for the radio and whatnot. For all vying for, like content and ideas at the moment. So if you can just get in contact, if you know somewhere there, mint. If you don't know anybody, just drop a call into the news desk. Who knows what might happen? They may just feature you just because they need someone to go out in next week's or today's paper. And number five, final little tip, how you can get ready for Brexit and it's something that I say to everybody is email, email, email, chatbot, chatbot, chatbot. If you haven't got a chatbot, use email. If you haven't got either, get one. They're both free. Mailchimp is free and chatbots are free. I believe it was Caroline in the Boostly Academy group yesterday, said that she's abandoned a chatbot for so long, but she had availability, put a little chatbot message out and got a direct booking off the back of it. 400, 500 pounds worth of revenue on one free message. You know, it's so effective. Email marketing is still one of the best ways to promote your business because you've got a direct route to send a mass email out to hundreds or maybe thousands of people that gets right into their inbox, right into their inbox, on the computer or on the phone in a matter of seconds. In that email, I would put as the subject heading. The subject is going to be key here because if you look at your inbox now, how many emails are vying for your attention? So you've got to have something that stand off, stands out. Sorry. So it could be like what Gail's just put above bugger Brexit or bugger off Brexit, or, you know, something along those sort of lines where it's going to draw attention. Emojis always help really well in getting attention. Get someone in and just literally say, if you are looking for accommodation for your Easter, May holiday, summer holiday, weekday or whatever, Just to let you know we have accommodation, here's our link to our calendar. Send them to your booking page and your availability page. And if anybody wants to make a booking for the month of April or for the next 72 hours or for the next week, we, we are going to do a special rate for anybody that wants to book. Just put in the promo code Brexit and you get X, Y or Z. It doesn't have to be discounted. It could be incentives, it could be a reason. So like I said, Dawn, Laura, Stephen, Paul, you've missed all the five tips. But just to recap, one is website, two is Google Ads, three is Facebook, four is local press, five is email. Most of these tips that I've just said right now, if you don't have a got a clue how to set it all up, it is for free in this hospitality community group. Just look to the left, there should be learning content. One of the options, click on that and there's the five tips are in there. Basically academy members, you've got all of that and more in the vault and in the group. But a real quick video just to say hi, hope you're doing well. This is my last month in Bali. We're going to be heading to another destination very, very soon. Again, Brexit, depending on where we go next. But hope you're all doing well. Thank you very much everybody that's commented on there. If anybody wants to do a quick recap and do one to five and just put it in the comments below, I'll pin it to the top so everybody can see it. But yeah, just let, let us know. There's 15 people watching. I want the final thing, I'm gonna ask a question here. How are all your bookings looking at the moment? How are your Brexit bookings? Are you getting a string of bookings recently? Are you getting a lot of inquiries at the moment with people that are fed up of Brexit? And I really do apologize about the UK centric live video and content that I've just done right here. But I've just seen it so many times in here. I do see every post. I read every post. I may not comment on every post, but I definitely read it. And I'm looking at what you're always saying. So 18 people watching. Marie, how you doing? Matt? So let me know. I'm gonna. Anybody's got any questions, you've got me for three more minutes. I'm gonna be doing this is my next video, something I've been planning for a long time is it's gonna be a very much an anti Sykes video. I am fed up to the point of how psychscottages.com and everybody, all those national agents are ripping people off. And I've got a very special video with the help from a couple of people from, from the group. And I'm going to do a video, but it's going to spread the word about why you should not join Psychs. So if you want to know more about that video, just put in the comments, Psychs, and I'll make sure that you see that video. So I'm going to create that now and then I've got a video. I've got to make another video today which is called why you shouldn't stress about SEO. So, lovely couple of videos coming up and then I'm just cracking on with websites, so I don't think there's any questions. Oh, a film crew stand. I remember seeing you mention about that, Pauline. So, yeah, take on these advice, take on these five things and yeah, okay, I can see it's a bit low on questions, Summer's book, but compared to last time last year. Hope you're all well. I'm going to leave it there. Go back on the five tips. If anybody wants to write up those five tips, please, please do so and I'll pin it to the top. But thank you very much and I'll speak to you all very soon.
