Mark Simpson walks through connecting KingSumo giveaway software to Mailchimp to grow your email list. He shows how to create a KingSumo account, generate a Mailchimp API key, integrate the two platforms, and launch a giveaway. He plans to run a live example with a client called Louise.
We are back with another episode of the Boostly Tune Up. This is a special little part of the podcast series where I am taking hospitality businesses just like yours and I am giving them a little bit of a boosty tune up, a little servicing or an MOT as I like to call it. Just like when you take your car in, you get an expert to tune it up. So it is road worthy, ready to go. And this is what I'm doing with hosts and around the world marketing. And this episode I'm going to focus very quickly on in on the why that is a pub, it's accommodation. It's set in a fantastic part of the uk, very picturesque. I've been working alongside Louise now for a couple of months. She's a coaching client of mine, something that I've never really talked about. I mentioned very briefly in an episode back since but again if you want to find out more please do get in touch. But anyway, so this is part of a very special boosted Tune up series and you may have remembered those of you been tuning in for a while that a couple of months ago I talked about the state of giveaways on Facebook and how there are scam artists on Facebook and on Instagram that these bots are designed to go and scrape your account and and to trick the people entering your giveaway to think that they have won to then try and get money from getting a credit card. So this is obviously a no go. I have not done any giveaway training since but I've come across a competition software that takes it off platform. There's lots of pros to it, there's not many cons but one of the big pros is it takes it off platform. But it but it also is able to grow your email list and to grow your social media following and everything else in a giveaway by taking it off platform. It will mean as well that you are not then succumb to the scamsters, defaulters, etc. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to test this software with in on the wide and I'm going to quickly show you how I set it up and what we're going to do over the course of the coming sort of weeks I will show you how I implement this and then if you like the look of this then what I will do some point maybe in the last quarter of this year I will run a special five day training showing you exactly how to do it. We'll work alongside you in a special little group training five Day challenge and we'll do this together. So let's, let's get stuck in. So the competition software, for those of you been in a boostly academy for a while, you'll have heard me talking about King Sumo. Kingsumo is part of AppSumo. AppSumo, for those of you who have been around here for a while, you will know that it is founded by Noah Kagan. I'm a massive fan of Noah Kagan and this is just one part of what Appsumo does and I'm all for it. So what we're going to do is I've created a free account. Again this is all free and you do have the ability to upgrade if you wish, but you don't have to if you don't want to. So the main thing is once you've created your account, you're going to go into the account setting and you're going to come down here to integrations. Because what we want to do is we want to integrate it straight away into mailchimp. Now mailchimp is one of the best free email providers, email market providers that is out there. I've run training on it, I've brought the experts in from it and it's something that we use on a time to time basis. Louise in on the Y has a mailchimp account set up. So all we're going to do is the first thing before we do anything else, we're just going to connect it super simple. So it'll say API. Now before you get put off by it, overwhelmed by it, all you need to do come into your mailchimp account and you're going to come all the way down here which will take you into account and settings and it'll look like this, you click on extras API keys and it'll bring you here. So all you need to do do API key, click on will create that key for you. And as you can see it looks like this. You're going to come back into here, you want to get that API key, you're going to copy it, super simple. Come back into your King Sumo settings, paste it in and what this will do is then this will connect instantly your kingsumo account to your mailchimp account. So as soon as somebody enters your giveaway they are going to get added to your email list, which is exciting. The whole point of running these, apart from actually getting direct booking revenue is to grow your email list and to grow your social media awareness and, and this is what we get to do here. So that's the first thing. We're going to use a software called Kingsumo do. Go check it out. Kingsumo.com we're going to combine it with Mailchimp. So if I just come back to our screen very quickly here, you will see that in on the y have got 189 subscribers. Nice and healthy. My goal with this is to double this over the course of doing a giveaway. What we're going to do is me and Louise are gonna have a chat, we're gonna see what we're gonna give away and we're gonna set it up and it is going to go live and you get to follow on as we go and I'll show you exactly how to set it up.
