Mark Simpson explains why a website for direct bookings works only as a side channel. He got repeat guests from previous Airbnb renters, but the approach is too limited to be your main income source.
They allow you to have a website with them. And it worked in that we did get some direct bookings from repeat guests. You know, someone who had booked with us on Airbnb and now they were trying to book with us again, we would target them to our website there, but it was very limited. It truly only works if you're treating this like a hobby and you're looking for something you're booking channel instead of it being a booking channel or the booking channel for you.
