Welcome to the Boost Hospitality Podcast. We are in season 8, episode 17 and today we're talking about really effective audits that you can be doing of your marketing during a downtime period. We go through eight different parts of your marketing to look at, including Google Search, including your website, including your social media, your listing sites, Google Business listing, Google Analytics, plus many more. More. What have you been doing this week to attract new direct booking? Let us know what proactive things you have been doing to try and whether it's going to be boosting your email list. What have you been doing, whether you can take guests now or you're looking to take guests in the future. Well, number one is Google Search. It's the best place to start. Mentioned about this quite a lot of times now is the Google first page of search is starting to become your homepage. It may sound a little bit crazy, but if you think about it, when somebody goes into their search engine and types in, say your business name, that is the first impression now that a potential guest is getting of your business. So when we're talking about Google search, I'm talking about when somebody puts in your business name. So I'm not talking about a generic search term. So it could be B&Bs in Scarborough for example, or, or places to stay in Yorkshire or family friendly places in England. That's a very generic search term. I'm talking about a very unique search which is your business name. If you want to get more people searching on Google and seeing you higher in that map, one of the easiest ways of doing this would be to get people to leave more reviews on your Google Business listing and then just simply making sure that you respond to those reviews. The more active and the more content your Google Business listing has is when people are doing that search.
