Speaker discusses unrealistic expectations when hiring outsourced workers: employers may assume hires are "robots" limited to data entry or conversely expect one hire to run an entire business. The speaker contrasts cultural norms (Philippines vs India) affecting willingness to "go above and beyond," and emphasizes hires generally want to contribute but cannot be expected to fulfill every role.

One is expectations. Either your expectations are too high or too low. So, like, you think you're just hiring a robot and all they can do is data entry. And that's not the case. That's not the case in the Philippines. That assumption comes from when we only outsource to India. And it's not that they're robots either. It's just that the culture doesn't allow them to step up and go above and beyond to become rock stars in your business. It's really hard for their culture to allow that. So, number one, they want to contribute, they want to work hard, they want to do really good in your business. The second part of expectations is people thinking, oh, I'm just going to hire someone who's going to take over my whole business for me. I don't have to do anything anymore like that. I mean, I get emails from people that are like, I need someone who can write this content and create a sales page and write this sales copy and create this custom software and write these articles every day and do this design work. Like, no, sorry, that that person doesn't exist.
