A short YouTube interview clip in which an interviewer asks Mark Simpson what the first step is to start a direct booking site. Mark advises that even with one property and one season completed, the first action should be to obtain a PMS (property management software), arguing early adoption helps realize capabilities sooner.
What would be that first step that someone would want to take to starting their own direct booking site or process?
And let's just set the scenario that I'm talking to everybody here right at the very start. Say that you've got one property and you've done one season. So the first thing that everybody should be doing if you're in this scenario to start this journey is you need to go and get a PMS property management software. And there's a lot of people who say you don't need one at Property one, but I disagree with it. I say you do, because the sooner you start this and the sooner you start using this, the sooner you will start to realize that the ability in how you can do this.
