A short YouTube video by Mark Simpson (uploaded April 6, 2023) giving practical advice on choosing a co-host. The speaker stresses not rushing the decision, spending time together to test fit, and treating the process like a mutual interview — both parties should assess communication styles, timing preferences, and working dynamics before committing.
For co hosting in particular. Don't rush into anything. Make sure that you've spent some time with whoever it is that you're going to be working with, because not everybody is a good fit to work together. You can be the most agreeable person, but it doesn't mean the way that you guys like to communicate. The time in which you like to communicate. They may not understand that you're not doing this. To be an employee, you just kind of have to spend some time, get to know them. Make sure you're dialing in, they're interviewing you, but you're also interviewing them.
