Short excerpt from a YouTube conversation (Mark Simpson interviewing John Jonas) in which John Jonas defines and explains the term "OFS"—coined by him—to mean "online Filipino specialists." He distinguishes OFSs from generic "virtual assistants," emphasizing that OFSs are skilled professionals (e.g., programmers) rather than mere secretarial/data-entry help.

So a lot of people call them virtual assistants. So why did you term ofs? And again, just repeat for anybody who missed it. What, what does that actually mean?
So OFS means online Filipino specialists. And the reason I did it. So I invented that, I created it because as I. As I talk about this or people, people think about, oh, I. I want someone to work for me, but how do I. I can't find. I need to find someone talented. I don't want just like a secretary. And because that's what people think a virtual assistant is. It's a secretary. It's someone who's not really skill do data entry. And that's not really who I hire. That's not who you want to hire. That's not who you're going to find, is just blah and that. So that's why I started calling them ofs. And because I also got the feeling like my team didn't really like it. Like, I have these programmers who are amazing, amazing programmers, right? They're virtual assistant. No, he's not a virtual assistant, he's a programmer.
