Short YouTube video by Mark Simpson introducing StayFi, a service that enables short-term rental hosts to collect guest email addresses by requiring an email to access the property's Wi‑Fi. The clip compares StayFi to public Wi‑Fi login flows (e.g., Starbucks, airports) and positions email capture via Wi‑Fi as a solution to hosts' data-collection pain points.
When you go into Starbucks, you go to the airport, you want to use the WI fi, you gotta give up your email address. StayFi has brought that technology to the worlds of short term rentals and it is amazing. So to use the WI fi in your properties, you've got to give up your email. One of the biggest pain points that so many people say to me is that, yeah, Mark, but how do I get the data? How do I get the email address? Well, you do it by getting their email address to use your WI fi.
