A short YouTube monologue by Bryan (uploaded by Mark Simpson) in which he urges hosts in the short-term rental/hosting industry to police themselves and clean up industry practices to protect the business. He also reflects on his personal gratitude for the business—citing freedom, creativity, and meeting interesting people—and notes growth brings responsibility.
I think as host and no matter what platform you're on, if you're only doing direct booking, if you're doing OTAs, we kind of have to police ourselves. Like we have to kind of clean up our industry if we want to protect it. I work so closely on policy not to get too preachy, but you know, I love this business. It's been so great to me. It's given me so much freedom. I get to meet with so many rad people and be creative. I don't have to work a 9 to 5. It's like a double edged sword. We're getting big and we're growing, man. We definitely got to police ourselves, man.
