Hi everybody, it's Mark C. Winters. And today I want to talk to you about becoming great. I know a lot of you are out there on your own individual journey to mastery and a lot of your integrators. And so really I'm kind of talking to you integrators most of all today. And you know, in our integrator mastery forum, we'll talk about the need for repetition and we'll talk about getting in your 10,000 punches or blocks or kicks and the importance of repetition over things that seem really basic order to help you get really instinctive and masterful at using it. But there's just a couple of points around that topic that I wanted to highlight for you today. One is that, you know, if you're practicing wrong or if you're practicing bad form, that's not helping you. You can actually do some damage there. So I had a teacher many, many years ago that would say, you know, it's perfect practice that makes perfect. So we want to practice good form. And when you look at people who train for martial arts, they'll tell you that it's about 30% of the training that they do is classroom training where someone's teaching them or they're learning in some form. And then 70% of it is solo training where they're out there on their own, they're just doing it over and over again and they're getting their reps. When you look at the teaching side of that, you know, they may have an instructor or a coach that's teaching them. They also will sometimes learn in a group. So in martial arts, you know, you've got the dojo environment where you can practice with others. So I want you to think about that. Everybody needs a coach or a teacher. So do you have one? Who's your coach and where's your dojo? Where is the place that you can go and you can practice your craft and help get yourself to become truly, truly great? Bruce Lee has a great quote just on this whole topic of practice. And he says, I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks one time. But I do fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times. And I think that says a lot about the intentional practice to just take that basic stuff and do it over and over again until you become truly great. Alright, three key points to wrap this one up. Number one, perfect practice makes perfect. So make sure you're always practicing good form. Don't let your form break. Number two, find a dojo. Find somebody to practice with. Find a teacher find someone to help make sure that you're doing it right. And number three, it's one kick 10,000 times. One kick 10,000 times, not just a whole bunch of them. Once.
