The Importance of Same Page Meetings

Hey everybody, it's Mark C. Winners. One of the most common root causes of issues we see in visionary and integrator duos is when they're simply not on the same page. So how do you fix that? How do you get to a place where both you and your visionary integrator counterpart understand each other's thoughts on, well, everything in the business? How can you know what the other thinks about processes, people, procedures and basically whatever's going on in in the company? You need to get in sync with each other and the best way to do that is to hold same page meetings regularly. Same page meetings are a tool that will have a huge impact on your business. This powerful solution takes you out of the business to discuss ideas and where you want to focus efforts to move forward. You and your visionary integrator counterpart should plan to have them every month for two to four hours. Just lock yourself in a room and go through a very simple three part agenda. Part one. You check in with each other on a very human level. Look at this relationship as a business marriage. It's a really close personal relationship that you have to work on. You need to understand what's going on with them and where their head is. And they need to understand the same stuff about you. What's going on with you? Where's your head? Part two, you're going to go over your issues list. This collects all the things you need to confirm you're on the same page about. So in between meetings you should be building this list. You may just want to validate something to make sure that you're on the same page that belongs in this list too. Collect all those things up and then together build your issues list. And part three, you're going to identify, discuss and solve those issues. You'll prioritize and ids them all. This is different from weekly level 10 meetings. You're going to work through them no matter how long it takes. That means you may be locked in that room for a really, really long time. Other times it'll happen really fast. By the way, it's fine if you do this meeting in some place. It's fun for both of you. Some visionary integrator duos take their same page meetings in a restaurant, over drinks, at a cigar bar, even on the golf course. It's okay to have fun, but remember you're there to build your relationship. You have to give yourself space to deal with all these things. You have to give yourself time to get together, to get in sync and get on that same page. You owe it to the rest of your leadership team too. I've seen a lot of leadership team meetings where the discussion just goes back and forth between the visionary and integrator while everyone else just sits there and watches. So painful. And this happens because the visionary and integrator are not on the same page. They drag the entire leadership team into this mess because they didn't take the time to make sure they were on the same page on that issue. That's why I say you owe it to your leadership team to get on the same page with your visionary integrator counterpart. So to recap 1.
